  1. I would like to draft Shawn Nelson at #121 how many blocking TEs do we need. We need someone who could split the seam and make plays after the catch. We could go a little overboard and draft another DE Lawrence Sidbury Jr. Look at the Giants you can not have too many talented pass rushers. If it is not a TE or OLB I am going to be disappointed.

  2. He isn't going to come in right away and start. However, you bring this guy in on passing downs and move him around pre-snap, he will cause havoc on the QB. I don't think anyone believes we will be able to sucker some team into trading for Kelsay. If we were able to I would go with Robert Ayers instead.

If BJ Raji or Aaron Curry slips and 4 OTs go in the top 10 I would take one of those two first before drafting a DE.

  3. Trent has the arm strength to be successful in this league and the major issue with him is durability. I am more interested to see how our O-line comes together which will play a major part in how well Trent performs this year. The more hits he takes the less effective he becomes and building a cohesive line should really be the focus when training camp starts.

That's why I think it is important to get a deal done with Jason Peters before the draft and not let it drag on like it did last year.

  4. I would agree that getting a TE through free agency does not sound appealing. I think this TE and C class is pretty deep with solid prospects. I don't think Coffman is going to go in the 1st round and may still be available in Round 3 since he wasn't able to participate fully in the Combine.

Ideal scenario would be to trade down a couple of spots and pick up an extra 2nd rounder. Hopefully there is a team willing to jump up to grab the LT Andre Smith or QB Mark Sanchez if they fall. Draft the DE from Tennesee Ayers and then with our two 2nd round picks get a quality C and TE.

  5. In addition to Amani Toomer here is another guy I would take a look at once free agency starts on a possible 1-2 year deal if the price is right. He had pretty good numbers in 2006-2007. With a shaky QB situation in Oakland and knee surgery prior to the season didn't post good numbers this past year. However, with a change in scenery and possibly getting healthy again might be worth investigating.

  6. With 2010 being a potentially uncapped year and severe restrictions placed on teams for how they can prorate signing bonuses in 2009, it makes smart business sense to go back to school until the CBA situation is worked out.

There seems to be a general consensus that the next labor deal will include a cap on rookie contracts. So I would think that more players would want to come out this year. However, who knows for sure what will happen in 2010 when the current deal expires.
