  1. His brother is in Texas. The party scene is no doubt better there as well. So imagine Diggs is going to be pretty happy and will be motivated to perform for another contract. Since it is a 1 yr deal he may look to play with his brother the following year if Houston is not interested in bringing him back.

To me it's not all about "why the Texans" as it is why don't we value WRs like other teams do?  Texans have 2 great WRs and go out and get a third for example. Buffalo need a good WR 1 or 2 (depending how you felt about Diggs) and they trade him. Then there's losing Gabe Davis (again, how do you feel about him?) but it all comes down to Buffalo ever only having 1 true guy defenses had to worry about in Diggs. At this moment we have none. Ok, sorry we have Curtis Samuel.

Stroud is on rookie deal they can afford to take chances like this. Digg's performance no longer met the headache the team was willing to put up with so they moved him.

Apologies if this has been posted.

They are surprisingly high on Franklin.

Burton is rated as a first round talent "but an off field lunatic"

Can't wait to see who they take.

Outside of the top 4 wouldn't mind a small trade back into the 2nd to grab WR there. Would love to come away with Brian Thomas Jr. but long shot at this point.

  4. If it is small trade up to get the guy you want fine. However, no to moving up into the Top 5 for a WR. I am only giving up huge draft haul when looking for a QB. Other than that no to any other position. I would rather trade picks for a veteran WR at that point who actually has performed at the NFL level.

LB injuries hurt us this time. Not having a healthy Bernard against KC this year was a huge factor. Then, Douglas wasn't really up to par and the CB depth was an issue. You saw that the defense couldn't stop them to save their lives for most of the game.

With all the defensive injuries I would have signed up before the game if you told me we would only give up 27 pts. I felt from the start the Bills on offense would need to carry the team and put up at least 30 if we were going to beat the Chiefs.

No he won't.  In his last two playoff games against Mahomes Allen played great.  The problem is that the coaching and/or some of the rest of the team did not rise to the occasion. Look at Allen's game stats for these 2 games and tell me he has to play better?

    This entire thread is madness.

Outside of the division game in 2022 would not call any of the playoff exits great. He was good in the most recent playoff loss against the Chiefs. However, there were instances where we were on the brink of getting blown out. If not for Poyer saving that TD we were probably on the way to being beaten soundly. The almost near fumble while driving to tie the game before the miss FG was another play.

For me the next step in his growth is being consistent making the plays in front of him and minimizing the mistakes. We can blame the coaching, defense, o-line, weapons around him. However, I am including Josh in there too. We didn’t put up any points in the 4th quarter and clearly wasn’t good enough to get the win. That falls on the entire team including the QB.

Nah, I think he’s declining. Not sure if he sucks yet. We will likely see in 2024 if his last ten games were an aberration or a reflection of his current ability.

However, this phenomenon is well documented. If a player is purported to be “run out of town,” they do obviously suck. EJ got “ran out of town.” It’s the kiss of death for a career. Arguing that Diggs is being run out of town by the fans is very bad.

The sister clause is “if there’s a huge amount topics about you being a franchise QB, you aren’t one.”

When was the last time Josh had a “is he the guy” topic? Probably 2019?

How many did Tyrod and Fitz get? Thousands.

How many did Fields get? Thousands.

Not always Lynch was ran out of town. He had his own issues but talent wasn’t one of them. If team deems player too big of a headache for what they bring to team they will look to move on.

Teams that make any decisions based on what the fans think shouldn’t be in charge in the first place. Essentially if Diggs is no longer worth keeping they could look to get rid of him post June 1st. Don’t see it happening and they most likely look to part ways next year if salary no longer meets production.

I don't dislike Ty, but did we really need to prioritize a backup RB at this stage in FA, or a backup S (Cam Lewis),  or a backup LB/ST (Morrow), or a ST gunner/backup WR (Mack Hollins), or a backup QB (Trubisky) or a FB/backup TE (Morris), or a Punter?  We have massive holes in the starting lineup and need to improve our roster with significant talent to keep up/pass the Chiefs, Ravens, etc...  yet we're focused on backups. None of these guys are impact players and they can all just as easily be replaced with rookies or signings later closer to training camp.  Take their collective salaries (Hollins, $3M, Lewis $4m, Trubisky ..., etc.) and sign a real impact player, before they're all gone.

It's not about the RB per se. Its about prioritizing signing backups when we need starters in key areas.

Meanwhile the best FAs are quickly disappearing.

I will take elite offensive line versus spending any significant dollars at the RB position. If they don't come cheap then draft and replace. Good offensive line will make an average back look decent.

  9. Von wants to win and this proved it. Coming back from ACL injury especially at his age isn't easy. To take a pay cut when you had guaranteed money on the table I am good with him remaining on the team even if he never returns to form.

  10. Yeah agree there were wasted chances but I am glad they are ripping off the band aid and re-tooling roster with younger players. Couldn't justify running it back with core group with team up against the salary cap. Re-tool, get younger and make another run. With Allen we will be competitive barring injury. You then roll the dice come playoff time and hope you get hot.

Saying something and actually acting on it are 2 different things.

McDermott is not going to fire himself. He has made coaching changes including taking over play calling this season in an attempt to get team over the hump. End of the day it will come down to Pegula deciding whether he thinks McDermott can lead team to a championship or not. We just have to hope that they don't waste Allen's prime playing years figuring things out.
