  1. It appears that Vince is going to hold out like Peters did. The thought of Stroud and Vince at DT would be awesome. The 2 of them could put immense pressure up the middle. This would I believe would the rest of defense that much better. How many pennies would it take to get Vince in a Bills uniform?

Be gentle, long night of Patron may have warped my brain.

I'm sure that none of us would complain about Wilfork joining the Bills given that most of us hated Owens before he came here. I hated Owens and I'm now pregnant with his love child if that tells you anything.

Problem is that Wilfork would get suspended if he did the same things here that he did in New England.

  2. We are going to absolutely light them* up - Trent Edwards, T.O., Lee Evans, & Co. will put on an offensive clinic for Belicheat* and Bundchen*, who* will spend most of his* time on his* back, gazing up at the sky, wondering what hit him....

    Our BuffTown Bills 34

    Provincetown Patriettes* 0

    19 and 0 baby!!! B-)

    GO BILLSSS!!!!

    PosLUSZny!!!!! ;)

I don't get it, is Brady getting raped? I'm not mad if he is, just wondered.

  3. My brother and I tried to get some extra tickets to the home game against Cleveland this morning and were told by the box office that the game was entirely sold out.

    This raises some interesting questions:

    1) Does this prove that despite being a small market, Buffalo has little difficulty supporting (at least in terms of general, non-luxury box, ticket sales) the Bills in one of the largest NFL stadiums.

    2) How much harder would it be to get tickets to games if the Bills were regularly in the playoffs?

    3) Should the Bills reserve more tickets for non season ticket holders?

    4) How do you explain Bills fans eagerly buying tickets after ten subpar season? (What does this say about us as fans/ Buffalonians)?

    What do you guys think?

Go to stub hub, you'll pay more but you can get great seats that you otherwise wouldn't be able to get

  4. 1. Hrmmph.

    2. The Bills had a decent pass rush up until the 5-1 nosedive. Sparano had his team ready to play last season. ALL season. Whether getting picked apart is a surprise or not, and last year it wasn't, I will be happy if the Bills split with My Yami. But I think Sparano will beat Jauron again, both times as will Belichick. And if Pennington goes down, I think Henne will step in and that will be the end of Pennington.

I think the Bills go 1-5 in the division this year beating the Jets once the first time the two teams meet.

All of the Jauronites on the board will cite that as improvement though after last years 0-6 debacle and continue to rally for his tenure which of course will be read by Russ Brandon (who I strongly believe has perused this board before) and a mega extension will be given.

  5. Two things I think I think:

    1. Brady will be ready for game one. So will everyone else on that team. The Bills will be ready for game one. NE will be readier. Belichick will see to it.

    2. Sparano will take his team and beat Jauron's team. Then, they could switch teams and Sparano will beat Jauron's team again.

    To sum up:

    Jauron eats asss

  6. It would appear the Bills roster is pretty much set for the 2009 season and barring any last minute additions, we will hit the road on opening day on Monday night in New England with the present roster minus the waived players after pre seaaon.

The media will certainly focus on the return of Tom Brady in New England and the addition of Terrell Owens to the Bills roster.

So, how important is game one of the season?

    A. Critical

    B. Very important

    C. Just another game

It's not very important at all, it's only the opening day game against a division opponent.

    (Punches self in temple)

  7. I honestly believe that Turk was calling the plays for the first half of last season and then when the team was hovering at 6-2 I think Jauron took over, hence the blatantly obvious move towards a conservative offense and defense.

I could be wrong but I blame Jauron for mostly everything.

  8. How many guys do we have that are in the top ten at their respective positions? On offense Evans and maybe Lynch , that's it.. On "D" maybe Schoebel? , maybe Stroud? I think McKelvin will be there too but not in 2009..

That's it, how pathetic,.. Hard to be an optimist when the talent level is a joke !

On offense: Terrell Owens and Marshawn Lynch

    On Defense:

  9. And Keith Ellison...remains...our starter.

    :w00t:

That, my friends, is a big deal. I just cant understand how the Bills bring in THIS many OLBs and fail to sign a single one of them. Oh wait, I forgot about Pat "Megastar" Thomas.

They should have never let Crowell walk, even if the team had hard feelings about his surgery last year he is hands down better than Ellison.

  10. no huddle

Well, so much for surprising the Pats on opening day with a new look. What's next, is TO gonna twitter Schonerts whole 2 page offensive playbook?

Guess we're gonna be using the no huddle. No wonder Langston Walker isn't happy. No more deep fried twinkies!!

    LOL!!

    2 pages? I think that's you're overstating the complexity a bit.

I was pretty sure the Bills only had 3 plays:

    1. Run left

    2. Drop back -n- Dump off

    3. Shotgun draw

  11. I understand your thinking on the Pats* being 11-5 ( based on Brady's* return to form )

I am curious, however, what makes you think that Buffalo will go 10-6 this season? New coach hired midway through the season?

While I do see Pennington having less success at QB I think overall the team will improve in its second year implementing the Wildcat, not to mention them being better defensively. Look what happened with just Porter in the front 7 last year and now you throw a healthy Jason Taylor into the mix. I see them winning the division again, unfortunately. :w00t:

I agree with your assessment of the Jets, I see a bottom dweller there.

Bills start 0-6, fire Jauron and hire a port-o-potty as HC and the Bills win 10 straight.

Port-o-potty is named coach of the year.

  12. What coach has taken a team to the playoffs with average talent it rarely happens if ever. By all comments I have read and heard on sirius radio and espn sources like that DJ is universally respected. Never outside of this thread have I ever heard DJ is a joke. If you would stop being verbous and grandious in your comments and actually read what you are authoring. You might just figure out what a joke you are. That team did not lay down for any team last year they played hard all season long. That is the mark of a good coach, the ability to get the most effort for the talent that he has.

Grandious? Verbous? Me a joke? I make no bones about being an idiot, I'm not coaching this team though.

To get back to the topic if you want to play the "he has no talent" card you are surely mistaken, Dick Jauron has great input into who this team drafts/acquires in the off-season, want proof look at the 16 DB's on the freaking roster.

Are you really going to argue that the Bills were that un-talented last season?

I'll give you the first 7-9 season as the team was still suffering from the lingering effects of Donahoe but year 2 and 3 Dick's system (or complete lack thereof) was in place and the team failed.

Played hard all season long? To start a season 5-1 and finish 2-8 is no indication of playing hard all season long.

To not win a single game against anyone in your division and to put up 3 points (9ers) and 0 points (Pats) in your own house is no indication of a team playing hard.

How many losing seasons do you need to see from this guy before you stop using the "he is well respected around the league" argument? Of course he's a nice guy, that's why his players love him, practices seem to be easy and not once does he ever seem to criticise anyone. I'd love him too if I was an opposing NFL coach, he's quite easy to beat.

  13. I don't recall the exact quote, however the indications from all and specifically from Jauron were that

a playoff appearance in 2008 was mandatory. We got another 7 - 9 season obviously, so what is this year's

    mantra? Really?

Playoffs or else, unless we don't make it, because last year was the make or break season, which it really

wasn't because, well, we want continuity?!?

I'm sure all of the Jauron apologists will have a laundry list of excuses, they seem to be floating around here in heaps lately.

The latest one is that he's never coached a talented team.

Doesn't the coach have some say in scouting/front office happenings? According to the apologists apparently Dick is kept in a closet somewhere and just has to deal with what he's given.

Continuity is a great thing when you have a proven winner, to want to continue with 7-9 seasons is absurd.
