  1. As far as QB goes, Fitz's exodus makes the Matt Moore discussion more intriguing. I assume he'd be a significant upgrade over T-Jax in case we don't get the QB we want. Our QB situation would make for an enticing landing spot for a guy trying to jump from the ranks of b/u to starter.

Dude, no offense, but you are about as consistently negative as anyone here.

I think the Bills best not acquire QBs via free agency or trade. They were successful once in 1962 picking Kemp up for $100 and for a short time with Flutie. But aside from those guys the list of dogs is astounding.... Stepehenson,Sherman, Taliferro, Ferragamo, Dufek, Morrison, BillyBob Hobert, Johnson, Bledsuck, Fitztragic, Jackson... a total parade of losers. They've not done well in the draft either. Darrah, Harris, Shaw, Besana, Manucci, Marangi, Kofler, McClure, Collins, Losman, Edwards.... they hit paydirt with Lamonica but traded him, Fergy was a 3rd rounder they did well with, Kelly and Reich they hit on, but for some reason (probably incompetence) they can't seem to get right.

  2. I see at least 7 holes for starting roles on this team. WR, QB, ILB, OLB, CB, SS, LG. At least 3 or 4 second string holes, QB, WR, TE, CB, FS, DE (some of this will be filled by current players like McKevin :wallbash: ). So yes... I am predicting a 2 win season, maybe no wins.

You can not have 10 holes between 1st and 2nd string and fill them all with good players using the draft and FA. FA and the draft have to be absolutely perfect for the Bills. At best, we can hope 5 holes are filled with good to better than good players. Add in a new complete coaching staff and new schemes.... we will be lucky to win 2 games.

The 2014 season we will have a Championship team... not Super Bowl... but at least win the East.

might want to do a recount on offense. There are at least 5 positions on offense that will see new starters...

    QB,

    FB or H Back

    WR

TE - Chandler won't make it back before midseason and I regard him as backup.... he's not a downfield threat

    LG

  3. I'm on the road going to Louisiana from Florida going to my son's wedding. I just woke up in a rundown, flea bitten motel and they are out of toilet paper. I sure could use Buddy and his keen negotiation skills right about now! Lol!

Seriously, I just woke up and as I review all that has happened in the last 24 hours I think the thing that really galls me is that stupid fu@$ing contract that our hayseed idiot GM gave to Fitz. He gave ALL the leverage to Fitz and stuck it up Buffalo's @$$! This fu@$ing needs to go!

*Thank you, this has been a recording.

Oops! I meant to say "fu@$ing retard". I guess Buddy is rubbing off!

How do we know that Ralph wasn't behind Fitz contract? Chain of command.... and Ralph has no problem with his boys taking bullets for him. Ralph was the one who got a woody over Rob Johnson... not Butler... and when Johnson was inserted into the starting lineup for the playoff game against the Titans, according to Marcellus Wiley, it was Ralph that gace the edict for him to start. I ain't gonna defend Buddy for any of his moves. But, I do know Buddy is not fond of QBs with a weenie arm and recognizes that you must have a gun to throw in Buffalo weather. He was brought here to be a backup. So, how many personnel gaffes might really have Ralph's fingerprints on them? Like maybe Mario?

  4. I will say I like the Lawson move a lot. That puts M Williams and Lawson on the outside right now in our 3-4 setup. Still need to shore up ILB (Maluga Maybe?).

I would like to see at least one legit WR and a legit TE brought in before we draft. Hey we get a couple backers, a TE and a legit WR in FA then this is a win.

QB Thoughts: NFLN mentioned Shanahan a couple years back going with a bandaid QB Because he knew this last draft had QB's. Do we do the same with T Jack?

Hmmm.. a 290 Bullrusher DE that played only 5 games at OLB. There's about 60 TEs and RBs and a lot of QBs that would love that matchup.

  5. Ok, enough of this nonsense. Clearly, players in the league know what Ryan Fitzpatrick is, and more importantly, is not. The fact he's no longer on the Bills' roster is not keeping guys away.

We get that. The big issue is not having their ass covered knowing full well they were gping to dump him. Right now they dont have a better option. Evrryone knows they need a qb so the price goes up for them now both in contract and trade value. If they dont take a qb at 8 teams know they have to do something in 2 or 3 at qb. Teams looking for a developmental qb can jump in front of the bills to gey their guy. The bills could end up drafting a qb that really wasnt the one they wanted just because its a position of dire need. If they dont draft a qb then jax is the man. Either way they are in tank mode. They are willing to give up this season if they beleive it will put them in a better competetive position 2-3 years from now.

  6.

He's on a short leash with me already. If we come out of the chute losing, it's game on.

Well, if that's your taste test then its game on now. You're looking at at least 9 new starters on both sides of the ball including a rookie qb in a year said to be bad for qbs (fa and rookie) . Take a look at this roster. It might beable to split with jets, but its going to crushed by the pats and fins. That's 5 losses right there. No way they win more than 3 of the other 10 games.

  7. There's no restoring faith, certainly not between now and the season opener. We were told that we have the talent and bringing in just a few pieces and a new coaching staff to be relevant. Well, that turned out to be a lie.

We now will have 5 new starters on offense on opening Sunday, one of which will be a rookie qb. The defense, regardless of lip service will be a 3-4. There will be between 4-6 new starters, or at least players switching to positions they haven't played a lot.

Bills are waiting a few days to let the dust settle to pick up serviceable vets... as are the Pats. If you're a free agent looking for work, where do you want to play... on a team with no defined QB and a no shot at a ring, or the opposite?

I won't say that their strategy won't ultimately work out three to four years from now, but the FO could and should have been up front with the fans and let us know this was a total rebuild.

  8. So I'm scoping the roster. I know we have a s#it defense that needs overhauling. But I thought the offense was not too bad. So I'm going down the list of offensive starters. I'm certain you start 11 guys. I'm counting 5 new starters on offense. That's one injury short of more than half the offense.

Tank mode? Oh yeah. Filling a few holes for Johnny Football.

  9. I'm going on record that he will be the best of the 2013 QB class. Better than Geno, Better than the other Matt, Better than Manuel.

Tell me which QB in this class has the best accuracy?

Who has one of the strongest arms and throws a nice spiral to get through the buffalo wind?

Which one has the quickest Dan Marino like release?

Who has the quickest feet and is the most sudden of the group? Tops in agility testing at the combine?

Who was a quick study, learning two different offensive systems?

Out of all the QB prospects in this draft, which one would likely be a top pick next year if he had another year to play? Who has great upside?

Which QB puked his guts out on the field and kept on playing, throwing a TD a few plays later? Buffalo kind of tough!

Who was told to add weight so he went out and added 20lbs of good weight?

Which QB did Rich Rodriguez say had an arm equal to or better than any QB he ever coached or coached against?

I'm sorry but I just cant get excited about Matt Barkley. What you see now is the best this guy is going to be. I want a guy that Marone and Hackett can turn into something special.

To me he looks almost as quick as Kaepernick coming out of school with a similar live arm, but probably more accurate. He is 6'2.5" which is tall enough.

The more I read and watch video on this guy, the more I like him above all the others. This guy was under the radar but now teams are starting to see the special qualities in this guy.

An excellent runner, yes. But also a very accurate passer with a strong arm and a quick release. Thought to be a mid round pick earlier this year, he is climbing quickly up draft boards.

Chip Kelly in Philly and the new QB coach in Jacksonville love this guy. Thankfully, the Bills have also been listed as a team that likes him. I think he is going to come off the board much

sooner than most of the draft gurus predict. I doubt very highly that he makes it through the mid second round, especially since he now weighs in the 215-220 range.

So... we gonna make the playoffs next year or are we going to be selecting in the top 5 in 2014?

  10. Doomed? Nah. I'm thinking more like full rebuild mode.

Got no QB, no #1 wr, no LG, no TE. Aint no RG3 or Luck that I can see. No matter the rookie qb, he's gonna have a rough ride and right now it's looking more like a top 5 pick season than a playoff season.

Spiller has 2013 amd 2014 left on his contract. He must be thinking whst the phuck did I do to deserve this. And, what must Stevie be thinking right now?

  11. Bills are about 22 players short of a training camp roster. With only 6 pix in the draft, that leaves 16 players to fill those slots for TC.

Doesn't look like they're filling anything or much from nfl FA and their only tradeable assets are Spiller, Kyle, & Byrd if you consider contracts, looks like we're gonna see a warehouse full of rookie free agents.

Don't worry about season tix sales being down though... Russ is already mixing up a new batch of koolaid that will be sure to bring those sales

    up a notch.

  12. Damn... I gotta say... the money this class of FA is getting is ridiculous. Can't blame the bills for not being a player... especially after the Mario and Anderson debacle of one year ago. We can only hope that if they really do have in excess of $20 m in cap space, they figure out who their core is and lock em up before FA next year.

  13. If he could be had cheap, why the hell not ? Sell a lot of seats no doubt. Let him compete against the rookies. Use him as a change-up in the offense. Run a little wild cat. Run a little read option stuff.

Like I say, what have we got to lose? Very unlikely we'll have a good QB this year. Even if we draft a future star chances are he won't be very good this year...if he even plays at all. Tebow's won a few games. Thrown some REALLY bad passes....but some pretty darn good ones too. Especially in Denver's playoff run.

At least it would make the season interesting. What the heck.

    jb

What position do you play him at? And, what is the point of bringing him in on a team that's in total rebuild. If anything, a mature team like the Pats would be a better fit... a team that has weapons and can mask and conceal his weaknesses.

  14.

There's no way the Bills are drafting Nassib unless he falls to the fourth or fifth round. I think the Nassib rumors are complete BS which the Bills are no doubt using as a smokescreen for the real guy they want (Smith, Manuel or Scott). The media loves the Marone/Nassib marriage storyline and they're lazy when it comes to this organization. Perfect conditions for a smokescreen.

No way he falls to rd. 3. He was 6-1 over his last 7 games with 15 tds and 2 pix and 1 rushing td.

I was totally shocked the bills would cut fitz. I thought for sure they'd start the season with him and phase him out by seasons end. That move tells me they're grabbing a qb in rd. 1 or 2 and starting him right away. That means they need a qb they know and trust in the draft. Who do you suppose that might be? Since they are total rebuild mode they can let the kid hang himself or show he's the man. No one's gonna care with the season in the tank anyway. The result of that will determine if they draft a qb early on the 2014 draft.

  15. Definitiely... the Bills will scoop his arse up. They do not have a bonafide nose tackle and they definitely need one. He's a little on the light side for me at 325lb. but he knows the system and has acouple of years starting under his belt.

We not 'getting over it' till the guy is GONE. Maybe you need to finally understand this. A trained monkey can do a better job than Fitz so I have no issues letting a 2nd round QB in this draft take over for him and have his shot.

Well, grab a pallet load of snickers and get used to reality because he's gonna be in a Bills uni for a while.
