  1. I can't believe I'm going to defend Kobe, but there must be a moral difference between cheating on your wife and raping a girl. I also think you're assuming that his wife doesn't want him to defend himself in the civil trial. The cost of his lawyers (say $500,000) may be insignificant compared to the potential loss of future endorsements if he still ends up looking like a rapist that "bought" his innocence. She might reasonably decide that it would be worth the additional shame/embarassment over the short term to restore their income over the long term. Not suggesting this is the truth, just suggesting a reason Kobe shouldn't be viewed as selfish for defending himself.
  2. Leave Saturday. Stress free, and you'll have time to find a place for the game. Leaving Sunday puts your fate with the airlines - never a good strategy in my opinion.
  3. My theory is that they are protecting themselves from another devastating season like last year - heck, we were writing friggin' haikus prior to the Fish game fiasco. Last season was tough on the fans because we fell so short of the expectations set early in the season and watched the Pats that we thumped early go on to win the Superbowl. This year, I forgive the naysayers for being hesitant to jump on the wagon BUT I admit I've started to use the all-powerful ignore option on a few posters
  4. Translated for the I/T impaired - Surfmeister is the PHB (Pointy Haired Boss) from Dilbert But congrats anyway
  5. The two teams don't like each other, but that hockey was sloooow. Are you sure you're not American, because a few guys holding and pushing each other around is wrestling not hockey? On a more positive note, if you thought that was good hockey, wait until next week.
  6. And the losing team will complain about the officiating. And Janet Jackson will NOT be the halftime entertainment.
  7. Warning: Canadian post In the first period, the Canadians completely dominated the game and Esche made a few spectacular saves to keep it close. After the first period, I thought it was pretty close, but BORING hockey. All of the intensity seemed to die away and the game got chippy with lots of clutching and holding (both sides). It might be that they don't have their skating legs yet, but it did not look like the world's best teams out there tonight.
  8. Buffalo 27 St Louis 24
  9. I don't see Brown on IR - I think he gets an injury settlement and is released. I think the Bills were trying to avoid the cost of a solid #2 this year hoping that Losman would be ready to be #2 later in the year. In that scenario, Brown fit pretty well as a non-threatening #2. The Bills now have to sign a legitimate #2 since Losman probably won't be ready to step in this year for anything but meaningless snaps at the end of games. With a new QB, I can't see any benefit to keeping Brown with the Bills, short-term or long-term.
  10. I don't think you can resign a player with an injury settlement until after Week 10 (or something like that) - didn't this come up with Christie or Hollis a few years back?
  11. Best one liner in WEEKS.
  12. Aim higher - I'm hoping that he supplants Ferguson as the best Bills QB ever
