  1. Sal also said he's not sure if the Hopkins comment throws water on it or he just wants to stay in the weeds
  2. might be in here already, im not going through the pages right now
  3. https://twitter.com/RyanBuffalo01/status/1639011882099513457341 This series of tweets sums it up nicely
  4. Well I see I missed some good stuff in this thread overnight
  5. this is a good point he just talked about, but explained a bit better than the tweets out there. You have 2 teams, one who is willing ot make splashy moves and pain bonuses and looks for every avenue to improve their team and then you have a team with a first time GM having to trade their best offensive weapon, wants a good return to look string for a team that is rebuilding with a known CHEAP owner....
  6. trading Ed makes it sooo much easier... Also, there is no real urgency right now for this trade to happen right this second....which sucks
  7. AZ is paying the bonus money and not us Correct and that is where KC can get back in. There is no way KC can take the full contract, we barely can if we do the Tre and Dawkins restructures and then it is an immediate restructure and boom cap space is all back... It comes down to do they want the higher pick or to not pay any money...
  8. so listening to Greg Thomsett right now, the bills have to absorb that full contract hit this season for a split second to take thew contract and then they can restructure. But the direct trade the Bills need that full cap hit to even make the trade and then they can immediately restructure. The Cooks trade was the work around - you get better picks for paying part of the bonus if you pay $10 million you can have a 4th rounder instead of a 6th. The cap gymnastics Beane has to do is be able to work whatever is left on that contract based on what AZ would pay to make it fit for that instant before they can do anything else....
  9. LOL that I did. There are a few positions that really standout more than others. Perhaps I should have simply said that when Diggs was taken away, our offense struggled mightily and our DL fell apart without Von. Our LB would fall apart without both of the 2 LBs . I still discount the overall defense a bit and would say our DL would have been fine as it was after Von getting hurt if we had that WR1B as we could still score and not stall out. Why do I say this - see the superbowl. It's my own foolish want for a more impactful DT guy
  10. I mean it depends on the positions we are talking about. I'm taking a guess here, but the 2 biggest issues are OL and WR. I think on the OL all that can be expected is incremental improvement and I think we achieved that. If a guy on the OL misses a few games, can we survive it? I think so, we did last season and the season before...I do like a RT in the draft a lot. A small improvement at OG play will make Morse and the OTs look a lot better. What does incremental improvement at the WR position look like? First i think you have to look at our WRs - if Diggs had to miss time what do we have? We have the same offense when the defense takes him away, but it would be even worse because they wouldn't be doubling a player who isn't playing and would roll the coverage elsewhere. Incremental improvement in the WR room, is basically the 2 signings we made so far replacing Kumerow and Lil Dirty. Much like Beane has done in the past is look for WRs out there, who look like they could have more production if they get more touches, but with the exception of Diggs, who cost a 1st, there is a limit as to what you can get out of them. Greg Cosell indicated this offseason and he is 100% correct, we need a 3 level WR who can run a full route tree to take pressure off of Stef - these 2 guys aren't it. Gabe cannot run a full tree and as Peterson Said they knew where our WRs were going - how much is scheme vs Player skillset limitations. Incremental Improvement in this area, doesn't really solve a lot of those problems. I think a difference maker is needed here... So to make this response work well in this thread, DL is the same way. Once Von went out, most of the line were JAGS. The next most valuable player was Daquan Jones, everyone else was replacement level. They need 1 more impact DT IMO, incremental improvement here makes how much of a difference - a slightly better Oliver, Lawson, Philips, Settle, Epenesa, Basham and even Rousseau tailed off after Von went out, he might be our only hope for development there. We place a base 2 LB set and we have 1 all-pro, not sold on our other options on our team starting there, but I don't need 2 LBs who are $30 mil a season. We can find someone who will be acceptable enough to replace Edmunds; likely draft I don't see us needing impact DBs, but we do need to start looking at incrementally improve saftey depth and have a plan there. Just remember our 2 awesome safeties were 2 other teams trash - I'm not worried about big different makers yet. So yeah, I see 2 positions where we need a splash - DL and WR...
  11. What I need a a great player besides von on this dl and we don't have that. I don't need an older vet, I need a legit great football player
  12. The questions do become, why the inaction and is the cause the HC the GM or both... As with everything there are the early adopters and the other end of the spectrum with 95% in the middle, some here are junping to getting rid of everyone a bit early and others will jever be on board. The answer is somewhere in the middle. After the playoff game last year, this team does need to demonstrate that they aren't spinning the wheels and that they "get it". Another year of failed expectations heat from the fan base will increase an unfathomable magnitude. I do think most of the ire will be towards McD being not the right guy to get them over the hump and Beane's heat will be for not checking the HC's poor team construction philosophy to win in today's NFL, neither if these 2 individuals seem to be that naive. It's a year too early for this, but you definitely want to see some moves in the right direction. The truth is we are 3rd in the afc, we are unable to get past kc or cin in the post season as of now and the jets and even Miami should be competitive in the east. If the best way to get to the playoffs is to win the division, then they need to up the ante, other teams are catching up to us and we still can't get through the playoffs. The Superbowl again showed that a stout defense couldn't get it done against KC, you have to outscore them.... That's where the ire of many fans is...
  13. I'd throw some trust on the kc aspect of it. Just based on geographical location and covering the Chiefs
  14. Buymt yet you have Aaron Wilson from Houston saying there is and the Bills are in the lead. One could have a thought that Wilson may know more based on the Hopkins camp and this dude only knows what he gets from kc sources....hard to buy absolutes from either. I'd lean more on the this guy knows the kc piece only...
  15. The one from like page 65 or whatever in this thread.... The Peg jet
  16. That maccaffery trade was bi kers and I wouldn't have touched that price, I'd even flip 27 this year if I had to. And I do like an RT around that pick too. Aside from OL, wr2 and wr1 and 1b are huge needs.
