The Saints are always in “cap hell”, yet they always seem to sign whoever they want.

Well, they're welcome to Derek Carr and all of the underwhelming mediocrity that he's sure to bring...

If you don't have a Top 10 QB and you're not ready to win NOW, you as the GM are committing an ad of idiocy if you aren't just drafting a QB and/or playing the young QB that you have.  Signing a mid-level vet like Carr does nothing except kick the can down the road

  2. No one is trading for Mitch Morse or Micah Hyde given their injury history

No one is giving up a 4th rounder for AJ Epenesa.  Maybe a 6th or 7th

If a team wants Ed Oliver, they will wait a year for him to hit Free Agency

  3. For me, this is a positive if we can focus on these key components:

    1. Continue to keep the same core defensive principles and scheme that has resulted in consistently strong regular-season defenses.  "Don't throw the baby out with the bath water"
    2. Be able to PROACTIVELY prepare and respond to how playoff opponents with strong coaching staffs might plan to attack you.  When 72,000 fans in the stands can see that the problem is not having your DB's playing 10 yards off, that's an issue
    3. Have someone on the sidelines with some fire in their belly - who can ATTACK when needed, and get the players focused and fired up.  Nothing bothered me more than seeing Frazier stand there with no expression like Jauron 2.0

I think it seems extremely stressful to us fans because we all know Beane should let him walk, but we also know darn well that McDermott might be able to convince Beane to pay him, and we'll be screwed on Offense. It really shouldn't be a difficult decision, but given our team's history, they're likely to make it one.

Why would teams ever need to throw short-to-intermediate routes in the middle of the field when Frazier has his outside corners playing 7-10 yards off the receiver?

He showed his character by playing at all. He risked playing and got injured believing the Ravens were going to do right by him. Lamar is a better QB than Murray/Wilson. The Ravens offered him a contract less than theirs. Total disrespect IMO. Lamar Jackson is the main reason Ravens stadium is filled. That alone should warrant the money

I went to the Bills-Ravens game last year and that stadium was nowhere near full.  Those fans get a contending team every year and never show up.

Can't wait to see what happens once they trade Lamar and have some 6 win seasons.

  6. I'm amazed at the number of people who think it's a good idea to trade valuable draft assets for a high priced receiver on the downside of his career.

It's very likely that we draft a receiver in the early rounds next year to continue adding to the current corps, while giving Gabe Davis another year to decide if he's worth paying in free agency

The plan doesn't need to be more complicated than that, especially since we really need to start valuing having contributing players on rookie contracts.

WR is a great position for that

  7. I'm sure that this won't be the popular opinion, but I think that Schoen and Daboll are going to approach this the same way that the Bills did with Tyrod Taylor in 2017.  They supported him all season, made the playoffs and generated all kinds of goodwill for the team and fanbase

But they'll likely be one and done in the playoffs and whatever team they play (likely SF) will expose Jones for the limited, mediocre QB that the NYG know that he is

Then, they'll trade him in the offseason, and build up the capital to draft one of the prized rookies

But they're not giving Daniel Jones a big new contract, or paying his 5th year option.  That goes against everything that they're working toward in the next few years
