  1. He’s a KC homer and he’s open about it.
  2. I read an interesting theory on the Bears message board. They think that Eberflus told him that he was going to call the defensive plays and that he suddenly had health issues to attend to. I think that this is what happened with Frazier, FWIW. BTW, I think the FBI raid stories are all false.
  3. They keep getting behind to bad teams and coming back. They needed two 4th quarter TDs to beat the Cardinals at home. But then you see the highlights and they look great. But how did they look in the first half in those games?
  4. If they would stop trying to turn Fields into a pocket passer and just run the snot out of him they might get better results. In retrospect, they should have taken Davis Mills.
  5. He might, but it'll be Arizona or Chicago for the next few years and I'm not sure that there is a good situation to be had. But he is making over 2 million via NIL.
  6. They exist because sports networks need to fill airtime. I think the first on TV was probably Cold Pizza with Skip and Woody Paige. That started back in 2003. I think that the model is Mike and the Mad Dog. In any case, with the rise of podcasts and shows like Pat McAfee's I can't believe that anyone watches those things anymore. ESPN was better when they filled the dead air with replays of Mountain West CBB games and Australian Rules Football.
  7. I so want to make jokes about Nate Peterman in here, but I feel that it's not the right place or time.
  8. An FBI house raid is how Jared from Subway went down. Just saying.
  9. Do we have ourselves a Jared from Subway situation here?
  10. You guys remember this thread? Zappe reminded @Einstein of Tom Brady. Then the very next week they played the Bears on Monday Night Football. Mac Jones stunk up the joint, causing Pats fans to chant for Zappe. Zappe came in and played worse. Life comes at you fast in the NFL.
  11. I'm not British, but I believe that league games are called fixtures because they are on a fixed schedule. This is opposed to cup ties or other tournament games which are played in a tournament format so you don't know who you're playing before the season starts.
  12. Interesting story. It's true that video games are one of the ways that kids first interact with sports nowadays. My kids play soccer. Their coaches taught them technique and ball skills. FIFA taught them tactics. If you turn the level up, you cannot run the ball past the defense. You have to build from the back and down the wings. You have to be patient. If you get a lead, you have to adjust your formation to defend it. It's a lot easier to see this by playing the game than it is by watching TV where all you see is the one player with the ball. Same thing with Madden. I think that some of the old guys on here should give it a try. If they played on all-Madden level they would throw INT after INT by trying to hit these guys that they see on TV and think are open when in fact there's a safety waiting to jump the route.
  13. After the Bills, I'm watching the Chiefs and Bears. It might be an epic blowout. That is, of course, if the Bills win. If they lose I'm done with football for the week.
  14. Urban Meyer picked J.K. Dobbins over Joe Burrow. Does Burrow suck now too? And Jalen Hurts finished second in the Heisman voting to Burrow. College coaches overrecruit and guys have to transfer to play all the time. It means nothing.
  15. You saw their entire careers as an adult. No one ever seems as good as the players that you watched as a kid. That's why, to me, Joe Montana will always be the best QB of all time. He seemed larger than life. Brady just won a lot of football games. I'm sure that if I were 20 years older, I would feel the same way about Unitas.
  16. They've also given up 10 sacks, so that cuts both ways.
  17. With Taylor, it was (is?) a business decision. INTs get mentioned at contract negotiation time. As a matter of fact, his lack of INTs has created a pretty nice NFL career. According to Spotrec, he's made over 70 million not throwing INTs.
  18. If Mahomes had thrown that pass, there would have been a 30-minute segment on GMF breaking down the play from every angle.
  19. They gave up a lot for Fields. It was their 2021 first (20th), fifth, and their 2022 first and fourth. Just brutal.
  20. The entire schedule this week is garbage. There will be an upset somewhere, but on paper there are no compelling matchups.
  21. So it’s considered an expert opinion to declare the only 2-0 teams after week 2 the “teams to beat?”
  22. The Commies have played two garbage teams so I have no idea if they’re good or not.
