I really can’t believe this, but the Steelers will probably end up as the 1-seed with home field advantage, and yet there are probably at least 20 better teams in the NFL.
check out the remainder of their schedule:
@ CLE (Dorian Thompson-Robinson)
@ CIN (Jake Browning)
vs AZ (Kyler Murray)
vs NE (Mac Jones/Bailey Zappe?)
@ IND (Gardner Minshew)
vs CIN (Jake Browning)
@ SEA (Geno Smith)
@ BAL (Lamar Jackson)https://x.com/steelersnetwork/status/1725601870121672977?s=46&t=uEztWLHQe9squs0mVCzJCQ
They absolutely have a chance, don't know if it's a probable yet. Half of those are backups and there could be more by the time the game is played. The Ravens lost Andrews for the year and possibly Odell for a while too. Pickett will have to stay healthy to continue their barely treading water qb play, but I would say they probably will win the division now. Kind of bad of the Browns and Bengals to have so little behind their starting qbs. If I'm Haslam I'm kicking the browns gm squarely in the nuts for trading Dobbs preseason.

It also shows a bad form of negative complimentary football between the O & D. Part of that differential is the D allowing the other team to score 1st quarter points. Remember Cincinnati, LV & NE.
Sure, but if your offense can't come out early and put something together it is a drain emotionally. Thoughts like "why have we been practicing this stuff all week if it's not going to work on Sunday" type thoughts. That erodes confidence in the coaches. That can be overcome but you're just digging out of a deeper hole. I wouldn't mind seeing where our first quarter time of position sits compared to the rest of the league.

Dorseys play calling was not consistent. He took away scripted QB runs, he never took Josh on. Daboll would reem him when needed and pump him up when deflated. I hope Brady stays on the sidelines so he can talk with Josh instead of QB1 sitting alone and looking despondent.
The stat for me was when they showed our -11 point scoring deficit in the 1st quarter. That speaks to the scripted plays which have been designed by him and practiced all week aren't working. That's a huge problem. No momentum built, just nothing helping about that. Hopefully Brady has some different ideas, but all that should have already been tossed out there when they went over the game plan. Maybe Brady will be able to make the right choices.

I guess the running game isn't working, so just start throwing it around

Does McD have the stones to bench Josh?

So Ed Oliver shouldn't talk about 3 sacks - bad juju. He should be 500K richer by now.

The cucks for McDermott will say defense isn't the problem and blame it all on Dorsey. From the fumble, to the Josh fastball, to the benching of cook, all the way to Dorian getting the penalty
Dumbass needs to ride the bench if McDermott is gonna live up to his bull#### mantra.
If they talked pregame about doing things like getting down etc because Denver is aggressively turning the ball over and Cook comes out and fumbles on the first play, then yeah that's pretty irritating.

That’s a much closer throw and catch than the Davis miss
Josh was double clutching, that wasn't the heater.

This game is turning into an advertisement for free agent wide receivers next year.

Good breakdown of tonight’s game
One thing I don't understand is for a generation that grew up on texting and a tiny attention span, these younger podcasters just seem to drone on and on.

From the moment the Bills made Dalton Kincaid the 25th selection in the draft, the talk was about the offense running 12-personnel as a base package. The three early dominating wins saw the Bills running in 12 (the plays were there to be made vs. the Jets too). With two pass-catching TEs, the Bills run game was developing by putting opposing LBs in no-win situations.
Dawson Knox injured his wrist vs. the Jaguars and, though he tried to play through the injury in the next 2 games, let's be real: If the injury was bad enough to require surgery, I cannot imagine he was very effective during those games. See the 4th down drop vs Pats.
With the absence of Knox (along with Q-Morris being out with a high ankle), Dorsey seems to by trying to apply 12-personnel concepts to the 11-personnel sets he's forced to run. You can blame Dorsey all you want for the Bills' recent failures—he should be able to adapt back to 11-personnel better than this. But if you really want to place blame, the Bills' offensive woes nicely coincide with the absence of Dawson Knox. Hopefully, we'll be back to Dawson and 12-personnel before it's too late.
If we were really committing to 12 personnel, why would we only have 3 TE's on the roster, and with all of them with seemingly different skill sets? They should have had at least one other guy like Dawson in case of injury. Kincaid was slated to be a glorified slot receiver, which it seems like is a good role for him. So I don't think 12 personnel was the plan, at least not in the traditional sense, and if it was McBeane should have had a fourth TE on the roster.

Their off-season was an epic fail. Jones should have signed for 20 and thanked god for Daboll salvaging his NFL career. Getting blown out by Philly should have ended any thought of more than a bridge contract. After all they won only 9 games, with everything falling perfectly into place for about 7 of those. Instead Jones held the franchise over a barrel for a near max contract. To add to the mess Schoen allowed himself to get pushed around by someone with no leverage. All the giants needed to do was sign Barkley for 2 years, then franchise jones as the 1 year bridge, and they would have been 30-40 million better off than they are right now.
All can be made better by picking the right qb during the draft. If they don't, might be done after three years.

No it’s not unfortunately.
what do we save by ditching Von? Poor guy is terrible out there, he should pull himself out.
After Tre hurt himself again, I'm assuming Von will not be playing a lot of snaps anytime soon.

He threw the ball 65 yards in the air in the first half.
Yeah, but I don't think the throwing action is too effected, at least it hasn't seemed to be over the last few games. He doesn't want to take a hit, but might get more desperate as the game goes on and we're down.

The only way you stop it is to get a hit on Hurts. With folks pushing him from behind and slamming him from the front somethings going to give. Easier said than done.
Their LG is awfully quick off the ball too.
