Was thinking about this last night
Max997 replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
cant remember the last first round pick or rookie in general i have been this excited about...probably Moulds -
I didnt like the McKelvin pick simply because of the position he played but thought at the time he would be better then he has been hated the Hardy pick and got ripped for it on this board for saying so...my guess is he never suits up in the NFL again that is one awful draft even with Johnson

Torell Troup, Kellen Heard, Michael Jasper
Max997 replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I didnt like the Troup selection at all, seemed like a complete reach by a team that needed a NT and missed out of the one they wanted (Williams) I like everyone else am a big fan of Kyle Williams but he simply isnt a 3-4 NT and gets pushed around too much -
Not a Jauron draft despite the DB's

this is a very good point that was haha funny -
Who would you have picked? Post draft mock
Max997 replied to Koufax's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Brooks Reed or any of the other pass rushers in round 2...other then that Im ok with their draft -
Not a Jauron draft despite the DB's
Max997 replied to Turbosrrgood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am not disagreeing that it was a need it just wasnt their biggest need and i just dont agree they needed to draft a CB in the second round...i would have preferred any of the pass rushers that were still on that board either OLB or DE didnt matter counting on them resigning Poz is no different then counting on them resigning Florence who I thought was good enough to start for them I have no problem with the other DB's they drafted -

although i do agree or at least hope Poz will be back the only other player you mentioned worth anything is Moats who I like a lot Ayodele, Coleman, Kelsay and Maybin, seriously? Batten was a question mark before getting hurt so who knows now I'll tell you the Bills biggest need going into the draft was the defensive front 7 and for a team playing the 3-4 had very little talent and depth at LB and couldnt rush the passer at all your thinking is no better then the Bills, you worry about covering receivers before stopping the run and rushing the passer what has having a good secondary and being weak up front done for the Bills last few years? -
New England Could have Drafted a Clip Board Holder
Max997 replied to EldaBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i think they used to draft well until they started caring more about accumulating picks then actually using them...i do like Mayo though 2001 Richard Seymour DT Georgia - good pick 2002 Daniel Graham TE Colorado [29] - wouldnt call him a bust but certainly wouldnt say they hit on this pick 2003 Ty Warren DT Texas A&M [30] - good pick 2004 Vince Wilfork DT Miami (FL) - good pick & Benjamin Watson TE Georgia - miss 2005 32 Logan Mankins OG Fresno State - good pick 2006 21 Laurence Maroney RB Minnesota - miss 2007 24 Brandon Meriweather S Miami (FL) - probably call him a miss 2008 10 Jerod Mayo LB Tennessee - good pick 2009 No first-round draft pick 2010 27 Devin McCourty CB Rutgers - too early to tell but obviously were not happy with him what am i missing here? i bet if we look at the rest of their picks we will see a lot of the same...the point is for all the moving around they do they are not the geniuses they are proclaimed to be by a lot of people they are a well coached team with one of the best QBs in the game, big reasons why they put up double digit wins every year but there are glaring holes on their team that they could have filled if they didnt care more about getting more picks -

Max997 replied to Turbosrrgood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
ok so the secondary could potentially have holes, what about LB's or the front seven in general? which is more important, the front 7 or secondary? now we know who is playing in the secondary who is rushing the passer or playing ILB with Sheppard? Poz is a free agent and anything Merriman gives is a bonus bc they simply cant count on him being healthy. As much as I like Dareus he isnt a pure pass rusher so who is rushing the passer? you build from the inside out but this team just doesnt get that -
So we just drafted 3 DB's and not a single player

people are just way too caught up in the playing in bad weather thing Ricky Williams never saw snow until he played in Buffalo that one game and ended up rushing for over 200 yards i think -

whats the point of getting additional picks if they are not hitting on the ones they actually use? besides the two TE's they drafted last year how good have the Pats drafts actually been lately? their offensive line hasnt been good and for a team playing a 3-4 they dont get a lot of sacks from their OLB's i am just not as impressed with what they do during the draft every year as most are -
Not a Jauron draft despite the DB's
Max997 replied to Turbosrrgood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
at the time I wanted one of the available pass rushers or ILB's bc I didnt think they would be available in round 3 so I was pleased they were still able to get a quality ILB in round 3...i actually wanted Wilson but have no problem with Sheppard obviously they couldnt fill every need but i would have preferred they solidified the front 7 before the secondary -

Max997 replied to Turbosrrgood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I really like Von Miller but this team hasnt had a stud on the defensive line in way too long so Im more then pleased that Dareus was there at 3 the only problem I have with the draft is taking a DB in the second round. Williams may turn out to be a good player but I would have preferred taking one of hte available pass rushers at that point. I dont have a problem with the other DB's selected as I mentioned during the draft and got ripped for it, you can get quality DB's in rounds 4 and 5 that can step right in and contribute and I think the Bills got that in Searcy as they have in the past with McGee and Byrd -

Max997 replied to BLZFAN4LIFE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
with the exception of taking a DB in round 2 I thought it was a pretty good draft...should have taken one of the available pass rushers there obviously getting Dareus at 3 was awesome and they filled needs at ILB and safety I just dont think this team could afford to spend a second round pick on a DB when they had more glaring needs in the defensive front 7 and offensive line there are always DB's available that can contribute in the 4th and 5th round, the same cant be said for pass rushers -
They had him listed as an OLB but I think I read he projects to ILB in the NFL
-
Good pick getting Sheppard LB in the third
-
Oh the Bills are on the clock... Lets go to commercial!!

3 for 3 this year, that can't be a coincidence Happens every year -
Do you even know what nickel corner means dude? Seriously talking to you is like talking to a rock
-
So because they are 4th or 5th round picks means they would get burned for 16 games? How did Terrence McGee play his rookie year? What round was he picked in again? That was just dumb logic!
-
Maybe you should read my post again. I didn't say easy to play I said easiest to fill simply because they are always available. You don't need to be champ Bailey to be a good CB in the NFL. Drayton Florence was a second tier at best free agent corner and played pretty well for the bills last year
-
Williams will most likely be the nickel corner this year, you don't think there will be a corner picked in the 4th or 5th that could be a nickel corner on the bills this year? I'd hate being a Pats bc they are the Pats
-
How many good pass catching TEs are even in the league and which ones are available? You can draft a CB in the 4th or 5th that can step in and play just as much as Williams probably will. They could have resigned Florence or a similar free agent CB and drafted a different position You build from the inside out but this team fails to see that. Good teams can solidify their defense by using a high draft pick on CBs. What is a highly drafted CB going to do when a team can't stop the run? Who is playing ILB next year?
-
It's the easiest position to fill because they are always available either in the draft or free agency How easy is it to get pass rushers, Tight ends or ILB's?
-
Although I disagree what's your point? He can start and if resigned could have enabled bills to draft a different player Who would you rather have Florence and Rudolph or a pass rusher there or Aaron Williams who probably won't even start this year?
