1. The key is "remaining healthy"....I am still not sold on the OL depth behind our starters....I think we are very thin there.

    751465

Health at key positions is a concern for any team. Our thin OL, RB after Willis, WR after Evans, and QB is a concern without injury involved. All we can do is cross our fingers and hope for the best.

  2. You're probably in trouble then my friend. Gates is a good TE, but he's not gonna go for 1,100-1,500 yards 10-15 TD's like a standout WR. I think Moulds and Clayton may have solid enough years though to help you out.

Your back-up RB's are complete no names except for Maurice Morris. If you took him because SA is on the cover of Madden 07', I wouldn't really count on the so called "curse".

You need to serch for some free agents if you can. Look at things like who's in contract years and all that because you'll probably end up needing help at WR(maybe) and RB(definitely).

Peyton is always going to be a serious point earner, especially this year with James gone. He'll put up big #'s again.

Like I said, you could probably make the playoffs if things go well for Dillon, McGahee, and a couple of your WR's step up. But you probably won't go that far if you happen to scrape your way in.

  3. Whenever you have an injury of this sort, the afterthought of re-injury sticks around for a while. It's just like playing basketball and spraining your ankle real bad, which I have done on a few occasions. The first time you get back out there it will be in your thoughts. But you get a couple of runs in and it's history. Spikes needs to do the same thing. Once he is on the field for a couple of series and gets a few shots in on people, he'll be fine. He just needs to overcome this mental hurdle first and he will be full throttle.

What a sh-- draft.  One out of the top six picks is worth anything (Carr, Harrington, Williams, and Sims are all busts).  Then a handful of decent picks before you hit the likes of Wendell Bryant, Donte' Stallworth, William Green, Philip Buchanon, TJ Duckett, Ashley Lelie, Mike Rumph, and Patrick Ramsey.  And that's just the first round.

If only we would've made a "reach" for Dwight Freeney

  5. OK. First off, I must state that like any other Bills fan, I HATE the Dolphins. But Culpepper was 14-19 for 130 yds. That's like a 73% completion percentage. About the D. This is the Panthers. They only gave up 3 points against their 1st team defense that was out there in the first half. Couldn't have been but so much "clueless" activity going on.

I'm actually worried about how the Dolphins match up against the Bills this year. You saw how Chambers and some no name QB torched us last year didn't you? Well now they have a proven All Pro QB to lead their offense that not only can throw the ball, but can scramble when he needs to as well.

Their defense also completely shut down Carolina's running game in the first half. McGahee is going to have to be huge this season for us to win. So any team that consistently stops the run is going to cause us problems by putting all of the weight on JP's shoulders. I just hope he doesn't try to do too much and collapse whenever that happens.

All in all, I think this is another match-up for the Bills this year that has trouble written all over it. If our defense takes to this Tampa 2 scheme quickly and everyone plays their roles the way they're supposed to, then we cuold definitely win if our offense does their part. But the main question is how will our offense, or should I say JP, hold up when Willis is having one of those 18 carries for 55 yards type of games?

  6. Which Manning?

Who's your 3rd RB? Dillon might not really be hittin on much this year. Especially if Maroney keeps runnin the ball the way he is. Dillon might not even be seeing the field. If he's still available, you might wanna go scoop him up. Maroney that is.

Also, if I were you, you might wanna scroll through the Free Agent WR's too. I don't think I'd really consider Reggie Brown a solid #1 guy. I'd start Moulds and Clayton if I were you.

The kicker is good and everybody knows that Gates is solid.

The Bills DST could be a little iffy because Whitner is a rookie and Simpson as a rookie will be starting before the end of the year. Throw in another rookie, Youboty, at NB along with questions about our DT's, DE's, and Spikes. In all that you have alot of potential to be decent, but not a defense like Carolina, Tampa, or Chicago.

Overall, not bad. But I don't see that line-up winning you the SB or anything like that. You could probably make the playoffs unless Manning(whichever Manning that may be) gets injured. You don't really have any point earners at WR though and your RB's are up in the air because of what I already said about Dillon and Buffalo's line. The Bills line is relatively young and never played together as a unit before. They will have to learn the other's tendencies, strengths, and weaknesses as they go along. If they jell quick, it could be great, but it also could be another long year. I went ahead and took the chance on McGahee too as my second RB

  7. Willis' Brakes......CUZ HE'S SO FAST HE NEVER USES THEM...HE IS THE BESTEST RUNNING BACK IN THE NFL, HE WILL NO DOUBT BE OVER 2,000 YARDS AT THE BYE WEEK, HE MAY SET THE CAREER RUSHING RECORD THIS SEASON.  COME ON PEOPLE GET EXCITED WE ARE WATCHING THE GREATEST PERSON TO EVER WALK THIS EARTH HOW CAN YOU NOT JUST WET YOURSELF WHEN HE TURNS ON THE AFTERBURNERS!?!?!  :D  :D   :)   :D  0:)  :D

:D I thought Bruschi was The Almighty?

  8. Actually, it costs more to cut him than it does it to keep him, plus they'd have to pay a new guy to come in. We'll actually save a decent chunk of change by just letting Holcomb sit on the bench all year.

    749996

It will cost us more this year and that's it. It would actually free up more money for next year. If you add up the rest of what he is owed, it totals more than the caphit we'd take this year. Also, we have a couple of QB's who could fill the 3rd spot. Tory Woodbury and Craig Ochs. Holcomb is a crappy little dink and dunk guy who can't even throw the ball 20 yards down the field on a straight line. Finally, who else do we need to get signed? Uhhhh, nobody. The caphit isn't going to hurt us that much if we dump his noodle arm.

  9. It wasn't long ago that many on this board were screaming for the Bills to make a big move to bring this guy to Buffalo.  Many voiced serious complaints when he ended up in Dallas instead.

Just another example that the QB position is by far the most difficult position to gauge coming out of college.  Guys like Henson, Akai Smith, Couch, Leif look great when their playing against 19 - 22 yr olds, but when they face real ball players they become average at best.

I really hope JP proves otherwise this year and begins to lite it up, but if he does not or never does, he won't be the first, nor the last.

    750245

In all fairness to Henson, he was never even given a shot in Dallas. Parcells never liked him at all. And we all have heard how much of a dickhead he can be when you're on his list. I remember hearing them say that he (Henson) looked better than Leftwitch when they were working out together. The guy atleast desrves a shot in a place where he gets a chance to play. He could probably go to Cleveland, or Minnesota, or St. Louis and atleast be the back-up QB.

  10. Randall Cunningham comes to mind, though Randall was not hyped until after he got into the NFL.

There is something amusing about all this. As far back as the late 1980s, (remember "Randall, the Ultimate Weapon"?)

    750029

I believe Cunningham's career would've been completely different if he hadn't gotten his leg broken while he was scrambling around. I think it actually might've happened to him twice, but I know once for sure. Cunningham was also a better passer than these other "scrambling" QB's you mentioned. He had a monster year with the Vikes when they were 14-2 or 13-3. The year that Atlanta ended up beating them so they could go to the SB and get stomped.

  11. Is this game even worth the money? I got Madden last year and it wasn't that impressive. I just want to know if they keep about the same stats that your Campus Legend had when he was in college. To have a RB with almost all of his stats to the top and then be dropped to 92 speed and 93 Acceleration would be retarded.

  12. Ashley Lelie is Peerless Price all over again for the Falcons. He won't do jack for that team. He clearly doesn't have the route running skills of a #1 WR. He also developes aligator arms when going over the middle to catch a pass. He's fast and can beat a zone deep from time to time, but that's it. And it's not a garauntee that Vick can throw the ball accurately enough to hit him in stride 50 yards down the field. But they did need a receiver

  13. I guess it would be encouraging to see him for a series or two, but not more than that.

    749462

It would be good to see him out on the field stalking the sidelines in a zone, a screen pass be called, and TKO be able to drop the hammer on an unsuspecting RB that didn't even see him coming. Then sit until the Reg. Season starts.
