At their best, Michigan plays smashmouth, mistake-free football. Their OL is a group of mostly 23-25 year-old men -- I believe their youngest starter is a senior. They come right at you. My impression of Saban is that he loves that style of play and will gladly put his recruits up against Harbaugh's. I'm fascinated by the matchup and can't wait to watch. Roll Tide!!!! (On that particular day, lol)

That's consistent with their track record for speaking with families early about transferring and offering support in the process. In this particular case, I'm guessing Ryan Day isn't willing to risk his job for Kyle. They have to feel good about a one-year transfer and then Lincoln and Air?
-
I’m surprised— good luck Kyle.

I'm not ready to discuss that game yet in any detail, but I'm torn about Day and just about done with Knowles. The biggest thing for me was the lack of aggression and creativity last week. No wrinkles, no blitzes, nothing to get the team fired up and put TUN on their heels. They just ran a vanilla offense and sat back on defense. Screw that.

lol I was really in my feels last night after hours of drinking, reading Ramzy’s The Situational, and watching the hype video!

In the chaos of the intensity and hostility of The Game, a brotherhood and certain kind of love emerges. Tough love. TUN didn’t win the last two because they cheated. Maybe it helped, but Buckeyes know those teams were flawed in ways that are SUPPOSED to be exposed in that specific moment. This year, the winner is No. 1 in the land. The loser goes home. LFG. Go Bucks!!! https://x.com/ohiostatefb/status/1727827869521318021?s=46&t=wsMX1S6Hise84xr96wRyjQ

Peaking in November Xichigan Week starts NOW LFG!!!!
-
Lol I'm just busting your chops for coming into an Ohio State thread to say the Bucks are going to lose. We'll see how it goes.
-
I am? Damn that sucks. TUN could certainly make it three in a row this year. My biggest concern with them is the starting O-line with all grad students and seniors. That unit has looked like men playing against boys all season long. Like every year, it will take a truly special effort to win The Game.

I'm choosing to ease the pain from Monday Night Football by reflecting on my visit to the 'Shoe this past Saturday night with my college friends. The boys were back in town! Every year we say it's a process -- the team develops over the course of the season, and all we can hope for is that it peaks in November. And look what happened against (an admittedly poor version of) Sparty. McCord finally looked comfortable. He stepped up in the pocket, delivered dimes all over the field, and gave this team more than what it needs from the QB position. He was helped by the return of Stover and Egbuka. He was helped by Henderson running hard as hell for another week. And of course he was helped by the best player in the country earning 3TDs before I finished my first stadium beer. Still, give the kid and his coach credit for staying on schedule, shaking off all the "Maserati Marv with Honda McCord" jokes, and taking this team to 10-0. The defense continues to impress. I don't think I've seen many DTs at OSU stuff the run better than Tyleik Williams. Sonny Styles made absolutely violent plays all over the field. It's just great to finally see a silver bullets defense flying around. Credit to Knowles for keeping this unit together through the injuries. I expect the Bucks to cover another 30+ pt spread this week, and then it will be time to see how far they have actually come up in AA. Go Bucks!

This team is gaslighting me. Watching them is physically painful. McCord sometimes looks like he doesn't know what he's doing out there. Injuries are piling up on defense, and the in-game experience is just stressful. But then I look up at the end and they're 9-0, covered an 18.5 pt spread, McCord looks great on paper, the two-deep is full of NFL quality talent, Henderson is coming on bigtime (shades of 2019 Dobbins), and the defense is elite. I guess hang on sloopy for another week and keep swinging. GO BUCKS!
-
Another ugly win but the Bucks are sitting at 8-0 with the best resume in America. Entertaining season so far! I wish Kyle McCord was further along in his development heading into November, but the defense is elite and so are the playmakers on offense... maybe that's all they need this year along with toughness. Go Bucks.
-
Lol - this would be epic
-
Tough game - OSU just had more playmakers on offense. With all the frustrations watching McCord's week-to-week and quarter-to-quarter development, the OL's shocking struggles on run blocking, and the injuries on both sides of the ball... one could be forgiven for not noticing that this season has strong 2002 vibes.

Huge game for these two programs. Expecting a tight one as usual. Franklin looking to take the next step for his program. Buckeyes looking to become the only team in America with two top-10 wins. LFG!! 🍿

The timing of this particular road game is truly impeccable. How about angry Ryan Day though? I think he’s actively fighting against the complacency that led to the road losses here that plagued Cooper, Tressel, and Meyer.

Wow Go BUCKS!!!!
-
Quick thoughts on Wk 1. Defense looks incredible -- DLine made a huge difference, Sonny Styles living up to the hype at safety is great to see. McCord looked stiff -- I don't think he played badly, but he needs to loosen up. Playcalling didn't help. Playcalling was weak -- way too conservative for this much talent at the skill positions. Open it up! Chip Trayanum should be RB1 -- I know there's a lot of investment in Henderson, but Chip looks different out there. Stover was a menace at TE -- love to see it. Go Bucks

Gameday baby LFG!!! Not entirely sure what to expect this year. The roster looks stacked but the QB is just a huge question mark. Hopefully Day will continue his streak and develop a fourth consecutive new starter into a first-round draft pick. I'd also like to see the defense take a significant step forward after dropping a major bag on Jim Knowles the year before last. And of course The Game has become even more of a pressure cooker as TUN looks like it has its best team in years. Can't wait -- fight the team across the field and Go Bucks!!
-
Same here - Go Bucks Is there any chance that Brown upsets McCord in the QB competition?
-
Big win for LJ and Pantoni!
-
Just got through the spring game. Not much to say other than the defense looked pretty damn good — hopefully we see measurable improvement in Knowles’s second year. The other thing is that McCord looked okay but we need to see more imo.

2022 now joins 2019 as just a huge missed opportunity to win a natty. These misses are bound to catch up with the program.
