  1. If he could be signed for the veteran minimum and an insentive laden contract, I don't think there is any downside. It's much less of a chance that drafting a guy with the 1st round pick who just put his leg on backwards and doesn't see the field for more than a year. I agree it's worth a shot. It it doesn't work out, you're not out much...if it does, it's a great investment!
  2. I know there has been a lot of WM bashing since he left and not a lot when he was here, but that atricle is telling. Primarily because it was not written or published in Buffalo. It's a shame it ended this way, buy he's the only that started throwing rocks before he was even dealt!
  3. Points all well taken. I actually didn't realize that TCU was ranked so highly the last 7 years...there's egg on my face!!
  4. The Mountain West is NOT a top conference by any means and I'm not saying he wasn't the top pick and I'm not saying he isn't the best back in football now or arguablly ever (by the time he's done). The guy clarified his statement by saying that MT is not as good but the offense would still be a machine. He's right about that. Would it be as good without LT...definitely not. Also, I'm not criticizing you...I'm criticzing your statement that his post was retarded. If you don't agree, say you don't agree. I don't even care if you don't have a reason. I'm just tired of the name-calling of people who are giving their opinion.
  5. Terrell Davis was a 6th round pick and started his college career at Long Beach State. Yes, he transferred to Georgia. What I getting at monjambo is to go easy on the name calling when a lot of p[ayers are successful in the NFL even when they don't come from a premium program or are high draft picks. Oh by the way, what college did Tomlinson attend??
  6. After your comment, I couldn't help but have flashes of Ryan Leaf!! Yes, that scream you heard was me!
  7. I agree that his receivers have not been good, but I don't agree that Vick is fine. He's a RB who decided he wanted to be a QB. He's a good enough athlete that no one has told him he's not a QB. I don't know whether he's smart enough or not, but he struggles to make throws...i.e. his accuracy stinks. The guy is not an NFL QB...no matter who his WR are.
  8. All valid points. It's easier to make a pick like McGahee when you have Henry in your back pocket. I really am having trouble with what I would like to see happen! One day, I would love to see Peterson fall, but the next I wouldn't because I think there are glaring needs elsewhere. Things are so dynamic above us that it is difficult to predict who may be available when the Bills pick. No matter what happens, with the talent available, it seems like the Bills will be able to draft an impact player at any one of a number of positions. Unless they go WAY outside the box for something...let's hope that doesn't happen! It's fun to discuss!!
  9. Horn is getting old, but he should still help (unless the deal got nixed and I wasn't aware). However, another poster put it best, "Now Vick has a #1 receiver to overthrow!!".
  10. Tone is a tough thing to judge in a typed message. It's all good and we all wish we had a cheerleader for every day of the week!!
  11. No offense intended...I was just kidding around! It's a slow time of year!
  12. Ease off of the caffeine!! Although, I know what you mean. My Uncle and Cousin are obnoxious Giants fans...it made me really hate them as a kid!
  13. We all know how much stock to put in mock drafts, but...the latest one by Clark Judge on nfl.com has Willis going immediately before the Bills pick. I reiterate that mocks change daily as is evidenced by the fact that I think I have seen 5-8 different people that the Bills will take at 12, but it is something to consider. At least it keeps us talking!
  14. How about a poll of the top 10 RBs of all time!!! Wait, well, how about the best cheerleader...that would be great! Wait a minute...I'm out of ideas.
  15. It really sucks to be compared to your brother...but, when you're hyped as a better QB athletically than the best in the league who happens to be your brother, the comparison's are going to come and it's tough to live up to them. Having said that, he should learn from how his brother prepares and conducts himself.
  16. You think it's double the risk...even from the perspective of paying top 12 money? Please explain. On another note, if Peterson is available the Bills may have trade down offers they can't refuse. Even though I wouldn't mind seeing Peterson drafted, picking up a couple extra picks for him would be extremely beneficial...and, maybe, better in the long run. It's a really tough choice and one that I'm very interested in seeing what happens!
  17. A quick question...did you think the same when the Bills drafted McGahee? That was a big gamble on a guy who put his leg on backwards. Just about any pick in the first round (especially the first half of the first round) is a big gamble that may or may not payoff. I think I would take Peterson if he's available...provided no one was signed prior to the draft. I agree with one of the other posts that an average back can be successful behind a good line, but if the Bills have not signed another RB, Peterson may have too much of an upside to pass on.
  18. It sounds like there were lots of talks, but nothing materialized.
  19. That hype was unbelievable, wasn't it! What made it worse was an obnoxious friend who is a Wisconsin alum. He wouldn't stop talking about how great Dayne was going to be...at least I got the last laugh!!
  20. You really think that Washington and Stallworth will make that much of a difference? Stallworth had a good year last year (when he was healthy), but, when looking at his entire career, that is an aberration. Washington has never done anything...I wil grant that he is young.
  21. I think the real question is taking a chance on a guy who is one puff away from a lifetime suspension. I don't personally care whether he does it or not, but I wouldn't like the Bills to spend money on a guy who can't stay clean. Whatever you feel about it personally, it is against the rules of football. I agree that guys like Pacman are much, much worse...but at this point, the NFL doesn't think so. This makes signing RW ia a bigger gamble than it's worth in my mind.
