  1. Ryan. I am not positive. All signs point to Newton and Dareus going 1 and 2. But that is not exactly inside information. Carolina knows who they are going to pick and has for sometime. There is no vasilating going on. The comment about having 4 players on the board is pretty funny and simply to see if someone will move up. If that is the case it is likely Miller or Green for the Bills.

I hesitate to pass this on, but there is some Fairly talk. But it is not as specific as the other information, so I don't want to throw the board into a panic. Might just be becauuse he is well regarded. I also don't like being so nebulous. Sorry all. Some years things are just more readily available and apparent.

I like Fairley too. He was a beast in the NC game. Peterson should be up there too.

  2. Thanks for the update NGU...

Well I have to say it would be JUST like this Organization to pick AJ Green at #3...And it would make me laugh out loud pretty hard if they do so...Not a happy laugh though...Not that Green is not a good Prospect because he is...Just like Spiller was last year...He's a hell of a good Prospect WR...But here we go again...We'll Draft a WR at #3 so we can get rid of the one we Drafted 7 years ago at #13...Here we go again Drafting a Player high in the 1st at what is perceived to be one of our deepest Positions (Johnson, Evans, Parrish, Nelson, Jones, Roosevelt, and 4th Round Pick in 2010 Marcus Easley)...Once again we don't address the glaring weaknesses...And once again they'll get their asses beat in the trenches...And yet once again, we don't even get a Top Rated QB Prospect...I can hear it now...The Bills Draft a WR and they don't even have a Franchise QB to get him the ball...

Don't get me wrong...I realize Fitz could become a top 10 NFL QB and the Green and Spiller moves could make The Bills Offense one of the leagues best...I also realize that someday pigs can fly should they sprout wings... ;)

We'll maybe, just maybe that will be the move that will assure the Bills win zero games in 2011 and finally make their own LUCK...If you know what I mean... ;)

Man, you've totally convinced me that they will pick Green. He's a sure bet. Imagine Randy Moss talent, with a good head on his shoulders. WR like that change the game immediately. The opposition has to make the game plan to defend him. They can fill the DL and LB in the second round. We have so many holes as it is. This first pick is not going to fix anything this year.

I really don't, but it doesn't/shouldn't work that way. They are always aware of needs, but Buddy will simply stick to his board. Not that there can't be a tie between players, but it doesn't happen that often. There are so many holes currently that the team can go best available in every round. At the end of the draft they will fill in any glaring gaps with undrafted players.

That is really what I want to hear. I'm so tired of the Bills drafting based on need, and ignoring the real talent that is out there. Yes, QB is a need, but is it worth the gamble? If there is a stud player, regardless of need, I hope that Buddy takes him. Get the best available. Things will eventually fall into place (hopefully I'll be alive to see it  )

  3. We'll see...It's WAY too early to assume that, especially if you've actually watched Mallett play...The questions with Mallett are mostly off the field and in the Film room...And none of those questions have been proven yet...Based on the way he plays, if Mallett interviewed well and had the reputation that Luck has, it would be a heck of a battle between the 2 of them for #1 Overall...And it still may turn out to be...So let's wait and see what happens...I see a lot of folks assuming Mallett is stupid, or a pot head, or a meth head, blah, blah, blah...But on most Saturdays the Kid goes out and puts up big numbers against SEC competition and makes it look pretty easy...His arm is made for Buffalo winters...So I would not be so quick to write him off as a potential #1 or #2 Overall just yet... B-)

Totally agree. Mallett's got an arm and can zing those outs better than most. He's also very accurate and has a high completion percentage. Would even be higher if his receivers would stop dropping passes.

  4. Kelsay is a DE. Stroud is a DT. Our coaches are idiots. Common sense says to put players in positions where they can have the most impact and feel comfortable playing there. Kelsay can't cover, Stroud can't set the edge. On a positive note, the 4-3 suits us much better, as we DO NOT have many 3-4 players. Edwards and Davis are the only players with experience of the front 7. Its just ridiculous out there.

BAM! Right on the MONEY! How can we figure this out, and a Professional NFL team CAN'T! I am all for changing to a 3-4 when we have the players to do it! Why tinker with something that was actually working and mess that up too? If we were going to suck this bad, we should have kept Perry Fewell and suffered with the growing pains. At least they were playing for him and they were worth watching!

  5. We are REALLY BAD! When we are mentioned in the same breath as the Carolina Panthers and Cleveland Browns, when we rank at the bottom or near the bottom in every statistical category.....we don't need the Ravens to let us know. I wish there were a mercy rule that would force the other team to put in their second stringers. But that would just solidify it evern more when they take it to us. We are a joke, and until they change the way they do things at 2 Bills drive, it will continue

  6. I remember reading an article regarding how the college stats translated to the NFL. The # 1 stat that translated well was completion percentage. Colt McCoy's completion % was sick as a longhorn. Up in the 70's. Jimmy Clausen's first year was 56% by his JR year it was up to 66%. We'll see how that plays out.

    Jake Locker's 2009=56%

    Ryan Mallet's 2009=55.6%

    Andrew Luck 2009=56%

    Who knows???

  7. And just for all of you who think you can't win a SB without a great QB: Notice Brad Johnson, Trent Dilfer, Jeff Hostetler (a friggin backup QB) and Mark Rypien all won super bowls. Not to mention Eli Manning is hardly Peyton, and Ben Roethlisberger is the most overrated player I think I've ever seen in 25+ years of watching NFL football. And that doesn't even consider all the mediocre Super Bowl losing QBs who could have won had one or two breaks went their way instead of against them.

I don't disagree with you, but those coaches and staffs were hall of famers, something the Bills may never get to enjoy. We had a decent coach in Perry Fewell, but we pissed him off too. With this college coaching staff, we may never even sniff the playoffs.

  8. Definitely NOT 0-16. But we seriously need a franchise QB. Problem is, there is not clear cut Peyton Manning this year. Knowing the Bills it's not going to be good. The poor season is actually liberating. There are no expectations this year, and any win is a Bonus! BUT, they must reward us with hope with this year's draft. So go on, purge the roster for draft picks, if there are anymore worth any....

  9. BECAUSE HE SUCKS!

No running game, because why wouldn't you just jam the box if he can if the QB can only see the line of scrimmage?

No passing game, because he sucks.

Coaches game plan was vanilla? Because he sucks. I'm sure the game plan had him throw down the field on more than one play. He just cannot execute it. When it comes to game time - this guys is a deer in headlights. It's over!

  10. Enough of the "He hasn't had much help" BS! That's been the excuse for the past 4 years. Flutie (just to mention one) didn't have any help but could still average more that 4 yards per pass! That is just pathetic and aggravating. The Bills couldn't find any QB out there that could throw more than that? GIVE ME A BREAK!

Look for Trent to start this Sunday. If he flops again.....Fitzy will be under center in week 3. IMHO.

    NOOOOOOO!!!! :wallbash:
