  1. "Philadelphia defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley was inactive after missing the team flight Saturday" At the bottom of the article.... http://www.sportingnews.com/yourturn/viewtopic.php?t=153199 Looking at the draft results right now, looks like Marv did pretty well. Now lets see how Jay Cutler does this week.
  2. I'd take him in a heart beat. He acted out of frustration. Did you see those drops on replays? The balls hit the receivers right between the numbers. Right through their hands. IT was pathetic!
  3. While I think he is a talent, if we can get a good draft pick or better yet, an OL, then do it. It's not his talent that worries me, it's his agent. If WM didn't get hurt this year, I could definitely see him sitting out, waiting for a bigger contract. I doubt he will return to the Bills after next year. He's already shown that by not doing any training up here in Buffalo during the offseason. Remember the the players that Rosenhaus represented, that sat out for a bigger contract...Terrell Owens, Chad Johnson. It is just a matter of time. I say, get something while you still can. He's gone after next year, count on it.
  4. Very well put! "Wax on, wax off"; "Paint the fence"; "Get your A$$ kicked"; "Get your head busted"; etc...... I can't wait to see the new JP. It's like we just got a new free agent, or player or something. At least, I hope that it's true.
  5. Lee Evans says it best... The usually soft-spoken Evans provided the blunt assessment a day after the Bills increasingly inept offense failed to produce a touchdown in a 17-16 loss at Indianapolis. "It's just been bad. And until we get that fixed, it's going to continue to be bad," Evans said, specifically referring to the Bills coming away with six points -- two field goals -- on three trips inside the Colts 20. "When you're down in the red zone like that with opportunities to go up in the game and you don't do anything? It's bad," he added. "It's just bad all the way around." Evans singled out the offense as the unit that held the Bills back in a game where defense and special teams put Buffalo (3-6) in a position to hand the Colts (9-0) their first loss of the season. "Yeah, I'm mad," Evans said. "People talk about, 'Oh, you all played an 8-0 team.' It means nothing. Moral victories at this point in the season mean absolutely nothing. "Right now, either you win or you're going home, period," he added. "It's too late in the season for moral victories. I think coach (Dick) Jauron said it best. He said: 'I love where we're going, not where we're at."'
  6. How is this team any different than what he had in college? As I remember reading, he didn't have an OL there. Didn't have much of a cast as well. He played in the shotgun on every play because his line was so bad. Yet he was a gunslinger. This has got to be a problem with the coaching right? His arm is incredible. It is absolutely perfect for the climate in Buffalo. But the coaching staff needs to use his strenght. Get him out of the pocket and role him out. Use the shotgun more. When the K-Gun was running, it was from the shotgun position too, regardless of the down. Run some screens. Use the TE> I refuse to believe it is just JP! I'm going insane......
  7. They don't need another OL that can block, they need at least ONE lineman that can block!
  8. Yes, you are right. Jimbo had a way better team, including an almost hall of fame OL. But, whining is ok with this team. We're just looking for the "W". Almost doesn't matter anymore. Unless we are that accepting of a less than mediocre team.
  9. No, but how about Nall? He's just as much "the future" of the Bills as JP is. JP can watch and learn some more. JP might have the athletics skills to play, but does he have the head for it? Man do I miss Jimbo. Even at his worst, did he ever pass for less than 100 yds??
  10. No your right. It's not his fault. The kids got talent. A rocket arm. The coaches can't capitalize on that? I thought they set up the play action so well this game too. If they couldhave capitized on some of this, it would have been a different outcome. Awesome game for the D and ST. But I am sick of Moral Victories! Just want some W's.....
  11. How many of these can we have in a decade? I really thought JP was going to have a decent year. Especially with another year, new QB coaches and a new offense that would play to his strengths. But come on! 83 yds passing? Couldn't some of you on this board have stats like that? How about a few screens to our speedsters? Slants? Something! He could at least rush the ball for more yards!
  12. Why don't they role him out more? Wouldn't taking him outside of the pocket give him a little more time? Traditionally everyone always wants a drop back passer. But when a QB is agile enough, and athletic enough, why wouldn't they role him him out? Especially with our line being as bad as it is.
  13. JP didn't look bad on the first few series. The line and Shelton, let the team down by not converting the short yardage situations.
  14. You're right. It's very subtle, but I thought it was very important that DJ kept JP in. You can mess up a young QB, just like last year, by pulling him in a game like this. Good pickup.
  15. Let's use him like the Saints use Reggie Bush. Did you see that reverse with him? They pursued him while he handed the ball off to another, who scored a touchdown. Like you all say, he needs more touches!
  16. Yeah, but the play calling and the defensive position is different when their backs are at their endzone. I'm sorry, but I've seen "momentum" change games too often, to believe it is not a real entity.
  17. It's better then giving them back the momentum and ultimately the game. Buffalo Bills at 02:45 1-10-BUF20 (2:45) W.McGahee left guard to BUF 26 for 6 yards (J.Vilma, M.Chatham). 2-4-BUF26 (2:06) W.McGahee up the middle to BUF 39 for 13 yards (B.Thomas, A.Dyson). 1-10-BUF39 (1:27) W.McGahee up the middle to BUF 41 for 2 yards (B.Hamilton). 2-8-BUF41 (:49) W.McGahee left tackle to BUF 45 for 4 yards (M.Chatham, B.Kassell). 3-4-BUF45 (:09) J.Losman pass short middle to R.Royal to NYJ 35 for 20 yards (J.Vilma, K.Rhodes). New York Jets at 13:27 1-10-NYJ26 (13:27) K.Barlow up the middle to NYJ 29 for 3 yards (L.Tripplett, L.Fletcher-Baker). 2-7-NYJ29 (12:45) K.Barlow left tackle to NYJ 29 for no gain (L.Fletcher-Baker, K.Ellison). 3-7-NYJ29 (12:04) C.Pennington pass short right to L.Coles to NYJ 41 for 12 yards (J.Greer). 1-10-NYJ41 (11:23) (Shotgun) L.Washington left tackle to NYJ 47 for 6 yards (R.Denney). Overthrown, receiver at sideline on BUF 28. 3-4-NYJ47 (10:41) C.Pennington pass short middle to L.Washington pushed ob at BUF 6 for 47 yards (T.McGee). Caught at 50, ran left after catch. PENALTY on BUF-T.McGee, Face Mask (5 Yards), 3 yards, enforced at BUF 6. 1-3-BUF3 (10:20) K.Barlow up the middle for 3 yards, TOUCHDOWN. M.Nugent extra point is GOOD, Center-J.Dearth, Holder-B.Graham. NYJ 7 BUF 7, Plays: 7 Yards: 74 Possession: 3:10.
  18. No doubt, they gave up on the run in the 2nd half. Don't really understand why. How about throwing a screen once in awhile? We are supposed to have these smaller, athletic linemen, why don't they use them? By the way, This was the first time I got to watch the Bills with Losman at QB (I'm in Philly) and the last time I saw a ball thrown with so much zip was when Kelly was here. Hopefully he will continue to grow and become a leader like he was, but he is still growing. Patience my friend, he's got potential.
  19. You are right in that this is all hindsight, but... If we shouldn't try a 53 yard field goal, what's wrong with allowing our All Pro punter pin them deep in their zone and allowing our D, which was smothering them at the time, control the game? We should have won the field position game in this one.
  20. 4 and 2 goes for it, Jets march down for a TD. Fake field goal. Bootleg call on 3rd and goal. I know it was poor execution. But these were all ways that changed the momentum of the game....
  21. That's the amazing thing about TD> Drafted some decent players (MW excluded) but couldn't find a coaching staff to use them correctly. Pathetic. Didn't he have problems with Bill Cowher and Andy Reid as well? May know talent and salary cap, but definitely not coaches.
  22. They can't be that bad, they did win the superbowl last year. The Bills picks look good, because the talent level here just isn't that good, unfortunately. Hopefully it will change quickly with the Ivy league boys being here.
  23. AWESOME! You're right. Youboty looks like a little boy!
  24. Unbelievable! What grit! Back to the Sabres of old. I love it!
