  1. This team a chance to compete. I have a few reasons . Last 2 seasons under Rex the Bills were basically a 500 team going 15-16 with Rex. They lost over 10 gms by one score or less during that time period. That's 15 wins with a ton of injures to the core players and with a system that didn't fit the defense.

I'm shocked McBeane wasn't able to put these facts in perspective. With finally a Healthy Sammy and a Focused Dareus those were 2 building blocks moving forward plus the return of Wood, Kyle and a slew of others and return to the 4-3 D this team could have won over 10gms easily.

That was all excuses and sales talk. What they were was what they actually were. 15-16. The Bills like to claim they were better. They always liked to claim they were better than their record. They always liked to blame something besides how the players played. That is my perspective because I have been listening to variations on the same theme for 20 years now.

  2. All I am reading today is the draft capital to get a QB in next year's draft .... is it just me or did no one like what Nate showed on Thursday? First drive as a pro ... drove down the field and scored ... in the fourth scrambled for good 1st downs .. and then hit Taiwan Jones perfectly on 4th down on the 5 yard line .. but he turned his head to run and dropped the ball ...likely could of been game tying score.

This kid went to Clemson last year and beat #1 in a shootout against D. Watson ... I like what I saw and yes only one game and yes against 2nd/3rd string .. but certainly better than what I saw from Yates vs. the Vikes ... but given the lack of comments and I am island?

    I liked what I saw.

Peterman looked like what he is, inexperienced in the NFL.

But he didn't look broken like our quarterback always have. He didn't look like there is something wrong that has to be fixed.

Tyrod can't stay in the pocket and has trouble with the middle of the field. He has to change to someone he isn't.

EJ couldn't read the defense and didn't look comfortable. He had to change into someone he isn't.

Losman looked like he could throw a long ball and couldn't do anything else at all. His development, like all Bills QBs, included having to change into someone he isn't.

Peterman didn't look like he had to change into somebody else. And for me that was very exciting.

  3.

    1. We did NOT need to make this trade to get a franchise QB prospect next year, its unrelated. We already had 2 firsts, plus our own 2nd and 3rds...MORE than enough ammo to pull off a big trade if we needed to.

    2. I will absolutely answer it...look at my avatar...I put that on draft night. I loved the Sammy trade at the time. First, we had EJ, who while unspectacular as a rookie, also was not too bad either. He looked like a promising young prospect, and we had literally no weapons for the kid. So after bringing in a young QB, we really needed playmakers on this team desperately. We made a trade to get a 4th back, so all it cost us was the next years first and for a talent as rare as him, I was all for it.

Going further, the trade proved to be a valid value based on TALENT. Yes, Sammy had a disappointing 2 year stretch battling his foot injury and a rib injury from a big hit, but once healthy he was one of the most productive WR's in the NFL and is 4th in the NFL since entering the league in YPC. And considering you feel we need a franchise QB, you clearly are not a fan of TT, so that just further sings Watkins praises that he was able to produce at such a high level in a run first offense and a QB you don't think much of in TT, and his first year was in a PATHETIC offense and QB combo of Orton and EJ.

So what do you think Watkins is gonna do as a healthy WR catching passes from a capable passing QB? And with the ammo we have next year, if TT falters, we could have added that big arm QB without having to trade Sammy and would have had an Elite WR for that young QB to grow with.

One, thats a false statement. We could have tagged or franchised him and potentially kept him or got more for him.

And we already had 2 firsts, a 2nd, and 2 thirds next year...we had MORE than enough ammo to get a QB if we need one without having to trade Sammy.

I think they used 2 firsts and fourth round pick to get a wide receiver when they didn't have a quarterback. I think that is stupid.

  4. For 20 years I have listened to Bills front office staff and many of the fans agree, that it is hard to get a QB in today's NFL. That there is nobody there when we pick. That it is just bad luck, and it is wrong to complain. And of course we always lose because it is a QB driven game.

In 6 months this staff has added Peterman and has TWO each of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round picks to use next year. Maybe they don't want to be waiting to get lucky for the NEXT 20 years, and decided to do something about it.

  5. Spencer T. German @Spencito_

McDermott says "natural wear & tear," has pushed them to the side field for practice. Compares it to crop rotation. #Bills

Can we stop the whiny complaints about practice now? I get it, you showed up to watch the Bills practice and were disappointed. But I'll take a crappy practice for fans over Sammy Watkins spraining his ankle when he steps in a divot.

I don't think astro was being whiny any more than I think you are being a !@#$. I just think there are differing viewpoints.

  6. You're missing my point. The Bills event staff herded 5000 people to a location that no practice was going to take place on. Gave tickets, charged money for food, bus trips, merchandise

I get that practice is free and that it doesn't matter if they win. But as of today, Mcd is 0-0 and that was a bait and switch to fans of a team in the midst of a 17 year playoff drought. It was a BS move and you are not going to convince me otherwise.

They are either missing your very, very, very, easy to see point on purpose, or because they actually don't understand it.

Either way I think it is pointless to try to explain it to them some more.

  7. It was pretty rough for them to do that. 5000 fans showed up and lined the street going into Fisher to get in. Most of us saw the kickers stretch the whole time.

    This was my experience Sunday.

Waited in line, got through the metal detectors and got to the bleachers.

Went back towards the tents to grab some free sunglasses for my mom because she forgot her's.

Got into an argument with "Mark" one of the security guys for hire about the meaning of general admission. He told me that because I didnt give them my name when I left the bleachers, I could not go back up to my seat that 3 people were saving for me. (Mind you this is general admission practice) After arguing with him for 10 mins on his little power trip, he finally let me up. (My ticket rep will be hearing about this soon, as this is the second time this has happened this season)

Watched kickers pretend to kick for an hour before finally leaving

They weren't switching fields, they blatantly avoided the fans that sacrificed a Sunday to watch them at a ticket practice. And its not about me. Little kids, elderly folks come to these because they cant go to games go to these practices. It was rude and disrespectful to a city that has 1/3 of the season ticket holders. The note about the field being torn up, its BS because they practiced on that little field on Thursday too. So they haven't practiced on the main field since Wednesday? Spare me that BS Bills PR.

Sean better win, because he pissed off 5000 fans yesterday before his first preseason game

    Yes

From some friends that work for Pegula Sports "He has a ton of power"

Wow. What a rotten experience. And I had forgot about the elderly and little kids not being able to see games very easily.

I agree with what you say about it being disrespectful.

In my view, if McD wins a lot , this wont matter. If as is more likely, his record is average, he is paving the way to get fired a year or two earlier than he would have if he treated the fans like they are also important to the team.

We are watching him get fired here is what I think. Not now, not next year, but a couple years of this combined with a mediocre or worse record will have the fans ready for someone new.

  8. WHERE IS YOUR CAMP REPORT SIR

    :)

I did one on a different board from Thursday's practice. But I couldn't see :P Same as Astro except I saw even less.

I will put it here if you guys want but there's not much football in there at all. And I rant some. And I make fun of McDermott. So it aint for fanboys thats for sure!

But I will post it if you want if I don't get punished if y'all don't like it. Just lemme know.
