1. I just lost a ton of respect for Mike Malarkey. His coaching is just as bad as JP's play this game. Challenging the Cadillac touchdon was about as bush as it gets. Not to mention the horrible play calling. Maybe he should have taken himself out of this game.

The challenge was dumb wasted a TO plus pretty clear they were in

Since there were so many Bledsoe vs. Brady comparisons the first year Drew was a Bill, I thought I'd post Bledsoe's and Losman's stats for game 1.  Not unlike Drew's first game as a Bill, Drew's numbers were very similar to the guy who took over for him on his old team.  I'd say both had good games, although, Drew still is still taking sacks for 8.5 yards per sack...

Since Drew is no longer a member of the Bills organization I really dont care how he does except play well to beat folks in our division

  3. Maybe it is due to the parity in the NFL, but the so-called experts on the radio, and especially ESPN, are horrible!

I actually heard someone on the radio (non-Buffalo station) say that Denver could over take the Pats and that Houston would win the wild card (we know how good they are). And, way too many people are high on the Jets. I think they seem to forget that Pennington and his fat-girl arm is still their QB.

Check out the first week records of the ESPN "expert picks."

But tell me would anyone in their right minds pick the following:

    Mia over Denver 34 - 10

NO over Carolina at Carolina with all the turmoil of post katrina and Panthers being a Superbowl pick by some

SF over STL havent watched recap yet to see if Martz boneheaded this one

Dallas over SD Drew playing against SD a team many think might be #2 AFC team

    TB over Minn

Jags over Seatlle - again another team rated highly

As someone said this is why they play the game!!!!!

  4. Now what would be REALLY cool is if someone recorded the audio from Sirius onto their PC, mailed the file to me, and then I could do multiple audio tracks on the DVD...  Radio or TV, your choice.

    CW

    437002

CW those would make awsome DVD with Murph and the gang versus the morons we usually get covering the Bills. Actually announcers today did a nice job of not being idiots.

  5. Need to improve redzone performance (sound familiar?), but overall MUCH better than I expected him to do in his first start, especially given the preseason.

Can't wait until next week now

    CW

You needed a win to not be able to wait till next week. Like I was telling someone on the golf course yesterday if ya cant be jacked up about week 1 ya will never get jacked up. ( Note I had my bills flags as well as new charging buffalo stickers on my vehicle since friday evening )

Yes a win makes me jacked more for week 2 but TB looked good today as well.

  6. Is the audio slower than video?  If so, you could pause the video (TiVo) and force it to be in sync... :)

Didn't really look at Game Mix more than a few seconds, but it was kinda cool - can't wait to see it on my pj in the basement :)

    CW

    436987

Damn hadnt thought of using TiVo to sync the audio with Sirius. I am only going by what I am told that Sirius audio is behind the Video so the TiVo Idea would work well. Now to convince the wife I need Sirius :)

  7. If you have DirecTV/Sunday Ticket, you can watch the "ShortCuts" version -- where they take all of the commercials, huddles, etc, out and broadcast the game in 30 minutes or less.

Otherwise, I'm going to try doing a DVD this week as well.

    CW

Bills short cut to be on at 2AM and 7AM on channel 731. Enjoyed the DTV game mix but would be nice if ya could select a game audio since the music they had playing got on nerves quickly9 Actually would prefer Bills radio audio but maybe its time to invest in Sirius just the delays between vidoe and audio are too much to deal with.

  8. A little disappointment in the 12th man.  Seemed numerous times, I saw several of the linemen trying to get the crowd to be quiet when we had the  ball, especially inside the 20.  Seems folks forgot how to be a  good crowd.

    436954

I wasnt at the game so will have to let others comment, seemed that the 12th man was loud when defense was on the field at least on sundat ticket that is.

  9. Lindell 5 for 5 and he doesnt make your list?

    436935

Well cant count everyone but Kindell did impress we with the accuracy and his over 40 yarder, also seemed to have a little extra on a kickoff or 2. Okay he goes to 2nd on the list cuz if you said he would have a solid kicking game with a 40+ yarder I would have wondered what ya were smokin

  10. I know everyone will say JP and yes JP had a damn good game and played a very good game but also wanted to note other players who seemed to step up today.

    1) JP - good game and a game plan that used his strengths

    2) Evans will be the number 1 receiver by year end

    3) Preston did a good job filling in for Chris V

    4) Peters - good special teams and a nice catch for TD

    5) Chris Kelsey - showing we have 2 solid DE's

    6) Ron Edwards - developing into a solid DT

    7) Gandy and Anderson - much better than I expected

  11. Very concerned.  But enjoying the win right now

There were penalties on the three of the drives

First Drive--Gandy had a hold on a screen pass to Willis that would have given us 2nd and 2 at the 8

The aforementioned false start on Bennie on the 4th drive on what would have been a 3rd and 2 at the 19--made it a 3rd and 7

We overcame the Teague false start it was on the TD drive.

We will see JP be given a chance to make plays on roll outs with run/pass options more in the red zone as he gains more experience.  We also need to cut out the false starts--on one of them the center had the wrong snap count--not unusual for the first game--but we need to get a little better concentration in the red zone.

    436788

Joe I am with you with the field position etc we should have been a blown out but like someone once said a "Win is a Win." Seemed like the game plan relied more on a passing game than running but good to see Willis getting significant number of yarsd in second half.

  12. ...is not a popular guy in the locker room. Apparently too cocky for some of the players. This is the first time I heard of this. What, the team would rather have a comatose guy like Bledsoe back?? I see a guy like Brady all sorts of fired up on the sidelines during games, this is the kind of QB I want on our team. Someone who gives a damn. If a player has a problem with Losman they should send him packing already. Especially if he's letting it be known to Peter King!

I've been listening to NYC's WFAN and I thought I'd pass along those two tidbits.

Last note, Nance better have the balls to call this on his dumb pregame show.

    435229

I dont need JP to win any freaking popularity contest I just want him to help the team win football games. I would hope if there is an issue in the locker room that MM has already heard about it and put a damn stop to the nonsense. BTW didnt look like Marcia and Cory were on great terms last night.

  13. Just been informed I need to be in LA on Sunday. Course the wife wants me to fly out Sunday morning, but gotta go Saturday so as not to miss the game. I will be staying at the Beverly Hilton, without a car. Anybody got a suggestion on where to catch the game. Looked on the Bills site, but both of the places listed there are pretty far away.

    Any help is appreciated

    434761

maybe LA Billz fan can help ya and let ya watch with him, just keep your political views in check :doh:

  14. or the amount of non calls on the patriots oline for blatant offensive holding. Brady is a good quaterback there's no denying that, but the amount of times that oline gets away with holding giving him eons to throw is just assinine

    434512

I was wondering in the entire game was a single offensive hold called on the OL of NE? Just amazes me how on the CD TD that the blocker on outside had looked like he made a great block but in replay clearly showed that hands werent just under the shoulder pads but guy had a fist full of jersey in each. As they showed replay Madden was spouting off about what a great block it was and ignored the handful of jersey.

  15. ...that the Bills lost 2 Super Bowls to "who-the-f**k-are-they?" QB's: Jeff Hostetler and Mark Rypian.  These guys were selling insurance soon after.  Remember DEFENSE (and Special Teams) WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS!!

    PTR

    433694

PTR agree that Giants won on Defense but from my view the Redskins team lead by Rypian that year was a very potent offense. True were are they now! But I agree with your main point that DEFENSE and Special Teams Wins Championships but do need a QB that isn't making huge mistakes.
