  1. I thought the franchise tag for CBs dropped 3 million from 8 to 5 million but a couple of people have posted links that had the 2006 CB tag at the original 8 mil. I thought I remembered ESPN saying it dropped this year but I drink a lot so I only sort of remember. Whats the deal with this years tag?
  2. I'd watch how you word that....East St. Louis is one of the crappiest cities in the country. By the way that is one sweet avatar Jukester. Go Cards!
  3. At this point Ted's not a bad option... but is it me or has this year been slim pickings when it comes to quality coaches?
  4. Watched all the practices so far... Nick Mangold- C Ohio State This guy has been kicking every D linemans ass in practice including Gabe Watson. I don't know much about the guy or his college career but he has made a believer out of me the last few days on ESPN. I really want to grab him in the 2nd but I have a feeling he will already be gone. DaBrickashaw Ferguson T UVA He's the real deal. I wasn't that sold on DaBrick because I watched him get beat a few times in the VT game by Darryl Tapp and he seemed a little too light. All that said, he is very quick and seems to have great technique. He's put on some weight and seems perfect for LT in the NFL. I don't know if he's the next Pace or Ogden but he looks like he'll be a pretty good pro. Kiwi-DE BC I have not been that impressed with this guy although it seems like everytime I see him in a one on one drill he's going against Furgeson. Tamba Hali on the other hand has looked impressive. Tamba Hali His speed really does make him look like Freeney and has also been pretty impressive. Size is still a concern though. If you get a chance, watch Nick Mangold. I hope we can get him in the second
  5. He might, I was watching him today at the senior bowl practice and he was killing everyone in one on one drills. Very impressive.
  6. Here we go... Round 1-Ngata Round 2-Nick Mangold, C-Ohio State Round 3-Andrew Whitworth, T-LSU Round 3-Manuel Lawson, DE-NC State Round 4-Charles Gordon, CB-Kansas Round 5- Brad Smith, WR/QB-Missouri Round 6-Jeff King, TE Va Tech Round 7-Leon Washington, RB-Florida State
  7. Hey dumbass, if you've read the thread I never said anything about him playing QB, the numbers show that he's one of those players who always seems to do something special when he touches the ball.
  8. Check out some of these game stats for Smith: 2005 game stats 2003 game stats 2002 And his one bad year (although the whole team quit)... 2004 game stats
  9. Mould's chances of being a Bill in 2006 are still pretty questionable even with Mularky gone. He'll have to take a pretty big paycut and who is to say he doesn't want to leave after last year. Evans has shown a lot of promise and looks to develop into a solid number one for years to come but he is not a legitimate number one...yet. As for Reed and Parrish they both belong in the slot because one is too small to play outside and the other too slow. So if Moulds is gone spending our second third or our fourth on someone like Smith doesn't sound so dumb. You are correct that he has not played the position on a regular basis but by the fourth round it's hard to find starting NFL caliber wideouts who were also outstanding WRs in college. Those players generally drafted in rounds 1-2. Hines Ward, Randell EL, and Matt Jones were three who came to mind who were able to make the transition quite nicely. Sure its a risk and it might not pan out but you act like I'm talking about drafting the kid with a 1st rounder, I'm not.
  10. He'll play WR not QB. Reminds me of Randell EL only 6' 2" and 212lbs.
  11. Actually I just graduated from Mizzou last year and still live in Columbia, Mo.. I've seen every start this kid has ever had so I'm not basing this off Ps2 Ncaa football. He's not going to be a QB in the NFL but rather a WR. He does not have the arm strength to play the QB position but he is dangerous in the open field when he gets the ball. Not to mention he might be the most humble athlete I've ever seen. And not only was he pretty good in the video game, he wasn't too bad in real life either---The only player in NCAA history to throw for 8000 and run for 4000 yards in a career, only two others have ever thrown for 7000 and run for 3000.

I know I'm a homer but I have a feeling this guy is going to have a serious impact in the NFL one day.
  13. I'll be watching Brad Smith, he's amazing in the open field and would be a nice pick up if he's there in the fourth. Lentz and King would be nice day two additions as well. I'm not familiar with a lot of these guys but if anybody else knows of anybody who I should be watching let me know... 14. Anyone ever had a similiar operation? I actually injured my shoulder in June and since I'm a dumbass, I refused to believe I was really hurt and did not do anything about it. If anyone has had a similiar operation I would really apreciate knowing what to expect as far as recovery time, mobility, etc. My doc says my arm will have to be immobilized for 6-8 weeks after surgery so this should be quite an adventure.
  15. I was in a bar last night and saw this pop up as subjects that were coming up on sportcenter. Then I got drunk and forgot to pay attention...anyone see this?
  16. For those of you who don't know what facebook is it's a website that allows people from all different schools to keep in touch. This is fuggin sweet, I just told him that we need him here in Buffalo. There's a few other messages from some other guys also telling him how much we want him here. I'm going to see what other potential draftees I can find on this website. If you have a college email address, you should register on facebook and bug the sh*t out of Mario!
  17. I remember Mamula, another high motor guy who was supposed to be a "workout warrior" and was supposed to be extremely strong at the point of attack. He had bust written all over him, although it's a lot easier to say that now.
  18. As do many on this board I start speculating on possible draft picks the day after the Bills are eliminated from the playoffs but lets not forget that it is only January. The combine has a big effect on who goes where and can either make or break certain players, not to mention some player's stock seem to either sky rocket or sink in the days leading up to the draft. I remember Troy Williamson was seen as a late first rounder who snuck into the top ten. Who knows, maybe when April roles around Da Brick will seem like a real option at number 8, maybe not. All I'm saying is that it is early and things can change.
  19. Good thing you have no idea what you are talking about. Marcus Vick is the fastest player on the Va Tech team and was clocked at a 4.28 in the forty in spring drills, which is a tad slower than his brother's 4.25. That is still faster than Lee Evans, which is pretty damn fast. If he can get his head on straight, I think he actually has a chance of being every bit as good as his brother if not better in the NFL. He makes quicker descions than does Michael and will stay in the pocket and make reads rather than taking off so much. He's done some pretty stupid stuff at VT but he definetly has 1st round talent and would be worth a third rounder if he's there.
  20. Chiris Mortenson (I think he's a dumbass too) just said he thinks Marcus's character issues will make him a second day draft pick. I totally disagree but if he's there in the third I'll take him.
  21. I still can't say I agree with you, I thought he progressed almost equally as fast in the run game. If you can get a copy of the Jets game (I have it Tivo'd) watch it but watch Peters the whole time, he was plowing Jets on run plays. I think the inability to run to the right side was more CV's fault, he had a really bad second half of the season, along with Willis reverting back to dancing too much. I wouldn't mind seeing him at left tackle because he is so athletic but I don't agree that he was a liability in the run game. I'm not ready to send this kid to Canton or even Hiawi by any means but he has given me hope for the future of this offensive line. Now if we could just give the interior of the line a little facelift by signing.. Hutch or LeCharles this line would instantly be worlds better than last years.
  22. Totally agree- 300lbers who can rush the quarterback don't come around all that often, in fact I can only think of two... Julius Peppers and Mario Williams. I just wasn't that impressed with Nagta in the game against OU, and what was the deal with his knee injury?
