I seriously almost pissed my pants last night when the Bengals got wholloped. I will be screaming at the television this weekend (that is, if I'm not black out drunk screaming at the game) for cinci, baltimore, and... ugh... I guess the Pats and Fins...
BUT CMON PEOPLE, THIS TEAM WASN'T EVEN SUPPOSED TO FINISH 7-9!!!!
WOOOOO BUFFALO.
Oh... and this thread is just so people can bash their heads against the keyboard in exciement and not look like too much of an ass.
Tom, don't give me crap on this.
Put the Coy Wire jersey down. Put it down.
It should be a very exciting game. I am glad that I have tickets to see it in person. Who knew when I got the tickets at the beginning of the season that the game would have some meaning. Spending X-mas eve with Big Tom at the Ralph. It doesnt get any better than that.
Tell the family I said Merry Christmas.

CBS: Don Criqui, Steve Beuerlein
I always check this to see who the announcers for the game are going to be. I see we have the numero uno squad.

The show is ok. The first episode had some holes in it. They recover an on-sides kick then have a long run but the winning TD was tossed from their 30 or so. Just stuff like that.
I wouldnt compare it to the book. The book was amazing. The movie ruined that enough. I would compare it to Varsity Blues more than anything. It is a good show though.

I think everyone knew it was going to be a bad game (the commentary and fox) when they had a grphic and pitts saying how DJ was the second year coach for the bills. Then later in the game they were doing a piece on all the Ohio St players in the game and they said ashton youboty was a buckeye from 2000 - 2003. But Fox only gets 2 Bills games a year so i dont think they really care.

i think the bills media bandwagon is taking customers

I'm sitting in Wendy's drive thru and see their dumpster in my rear view mirror. The Waste Management log backwards looks like MW. Seeing garbage and the letters MW at the same time made me think of Mike Williams
Why do people with NASCAR bumper stickers drive slow? I passed a truck with like 5 NASCAR stickers on it, doing 35 in a 50
yeah, i'm bored
I seem to have the same problem. People are afraid of the high rise bridge and go 35 over it causing a massive backup. I hate Virginia drivers.

Don't forget at 7 pm they have No Huddle on the NFL network. They do live look ins at games. I am sure they will show some of the Bills game.

I would lean more towards the fact that Leak isnt a good fit in Urban's offense. Leak isnt built for it. If he struggles early this year, it wouldnt surprise me if Tebow comes in. The Gators have Percy Harvin at wide receiver this year. I saw him play last year in high school. He had some off field issues but he is nasty. His high school ran a spread type offense and he dominated. I think he will help Leak out a lot. But I think Urban is building for the next couple years when he gets his own recruits in that fit his system on offense.
Hey Ramius ... Any word on McDaniel down at FSU? He played with Harvin and orginally committed to Florida but changed to FSU, which I think was the right move.
I cant wait for college ball to start.

Sec 314 Row L
I get out of work at 4 and will arrive at the RBC Center at 7 barring any major setbacks. Its gonna be a long Friday ... hopefully a Sabres win makes it feel better though.

As bad as you out-of-towners think the announcing is for the hockey games when you don't get the Jenarette feed, this past Sunday made me realize there is something far, far worse (and you've all probably experienced one of these guys before...They are prevalent at Bills games, but hockey is much worse because it's a faster game):
When you attend a game in person and the guy sitting behind you proceeds to give you the entire play by play for the entire game. Luckily, this only lasted two periods, because at the end of the 2nd, I had built up enough "Latbatt's courage" to turn around and ask him politely to tone down his commentary. It was annoying as hell!!! The guy definitely fancied himself as a hockey 'expert' because he probably plays in a Men's Rollerblade league on Wednesday nights. He mentioned 10 times how lazy Maxim is on defense and that he doesn't like him as a player, continuously pointed out Sabres turnovers, and repeatedly questioned the decisions of the Sabres players, i.e. "Why would Kalinin pass that up the boards?" and "Point! Point! Oh man, Briere's gotta pass that back to the point!" The only thing that made it worth while was situations when he would complain about Kalinin passing it up the wall, but the pass would end up jumpstarting a 2-on-1 break.
I don't know how this guy's friend could stand going to the game with him. He did rein it in for the 3rd period after I said something. I really wasn't a dick about it, I said I know you're excited, but this madness has to stop. I think his buddy was thankful. Trust me, laying on the couch with a brewski listening to OLN is better than hearing some nerdy hockey hero barking in your ear all game.
I have the same problem when I watch games with my roommates. I just like to sit and enjoy the game in peace and silence. I usually go to my room at watch games there.

A good example is Len Pasquerelli's column today. He praises Pittsburgh for trading up for Holmes and possibly giving up too much for someone they covet but bangs on Buffalo for takin Whitner as the "reach" of the draft. Bills are bad for taking someone they covet instead of trading down and risk losing him while Pittsburgh is good for giving up too much for someone they wanted. Gotta love the talking heads.
-
I think it is safe to say that the Bills front office is focusing on smart, high character guys and intelligent guys. I question some of these moves but now that I sit back and look at it, this reminds me of something the Patriots would do. They draft based on need and for the most part get intelligent players. I think that because it was the Bills making these moves, the talking heads are going to flame them. Mort absolutely HATES the Bills. Whenever he talks about the Bills I just hit mute. I like how Mel defended the Whitner pick and made Mort look like an angry guy trying to defend his boy TD.

My roommate went to Ohio State ... I am now wearing a Ohio State Bills visor ... instead of LA lets move to Columbus

Levy & Modrak explaining DW pick in press conference:
DW has 40" vertical leap. Has all the skills to play now. Can play SS or CB. Both ML & TM thought he was the best SS/CB in draft. Biggest reason was DW's approach to the game. (aka charecter) Levy poits out that the last 6 Super Bowl teams had stud safeties. Feels position was too important.
Leinart was never a consideration. Levy said they won't make the Bills by picking "some glamour guy." The QB position will improve when the rest of the team improves.
more on the way...

Thanks ... are they streaming anything on the internet?

My league wants to be a Keeper League
in Fantasy Football
Posted
I have been in a keeper league for 4 years now. We just recently changed our keeper rules. Our league isnt aution based so I cant give you any advice on that. We set up our keeper system as follows:
Two (minimum) to Four (maximum) Keepers per year
One Franchise Player- You can keep this guy for as long as you want
One Regular Player- You can keep him for 2 years then he goes back into the draft pool
Two Optional Keepers- You dont have to use these slots. You cant use these players as keepers in consecutive years
I am not a big fan of the optional keepers but this was a compromise between people that wanted more keepers versus less keepers. It makes for a confusing first couple rounds of the draft until everyone has the same amount of players.
I finished in last place last year and finished fourth this year in a ten team league. Our structure helps it so the most talented guys will get recycled sometimes.
If you trade a keeper then you have to designate which spot he will fill. Some people give their keepers right away but I like to wait until about a week before the draft. I would like to do some offseason trading of keepers but usually that doesnt happen. The commish of my league puts together a excel spreadsheet of the keepers, draft order etc. just prior to the draft so no one is confused on who is taken and who is not. But you always have a few morons who dont look at the list and try to select keepers.
I hope this helps you out.
