  1. Logged on this morning at 7 and got my tickets to the Atlanta game and Jets game. It will be good to see Ron Mexico (the local hampton roads boy) running around in person and getting pancaked by TKO. I hope everyone else as good luck as I did.

15 days till training camp ... IT IS FOOTBALL SEASON

  2. He is a local product and lets give him a try. I argued with someone at work about his productivity but he had the concussion thing. He showed signs of being a productive player at times and then looked horrible. I think he came to the hometown team as the savior (replacing Peca) and couldnt live up to it but could be a solid 2nd liner. I cant wait for hockey to start and lets hope a certain Mr Crosby comes to town but I have a feeling Bettman will screw Buffalo again (NO GOAL) and the Rangers will get the first pick.

  3. Bingo, Directv only. AND, do not think you will get the sabres game on MSG or wherever the sabres will be shown. Only your local team games are not blocked out. For example, even though I get the sport pack at D* when empire was on, when the Sabres games was on it was blacked out everywhere in the country excaept WNY.

I was thinking of getting DirecTV for the Sunday Ticket and then getting the sports package that includes all the Fox Sports, NESN, YES, and MSG so I could watch the Sabres and Yankee games. When the Sabres games are on MSG, would they be blacked out since I live in VA? I was getting the sports package so I wouldnt have to get the MLB Package or the NHL package.

I know when I lived in Rochester, I had Empire and FOX NY and the FOX NY would be blacked out whenever the Sabres played the Islanders. I dont see why they would black out games if you are out of market even though you have access to the channel.

  4. Good post, RNJ. The thing that makes me confident that JP can step in and perform adequately is three fold:

    1. He is not expected or needed to be the savior. He has a couple stars on the offense already, a stud running back to rely on, a smart veteran WR and a budding star speedster WR with hands, and he has a defense that will allow him to not have to pass all day and special teams that can get him out of trouble and set him up in good field position to start.

    2. He has all the tools. His legs can get him out of trouble. He has the arm strength to throw deep, if only to keep the defense from creeping up. He is very used to and comfortable with rolling out and throwing on the run. He played his entire college career on a lousy team where everyone stormed him.

    3. Most important. He has the coaching staff. Between Mike Mularkey being not only offensive minded but innovative, TC a former quarterback as OC, and Sam Wyche, one of the best QB coaches ever, he really couldn't be coming into a much better situation. I would be very worried if he had GW as his coach and Killdrive as his OC.

Point number 2 describes a certain QB from a few years ago ... Mr. Rob Johnson. I think JP will do ok but he looks like Rob, is a Cali boy like Rob .... I hope he doesnt play like Rob
