  1. Blood donations >>> Yup...The next donation I'll hit the 13 gallon mark...

I am lucky in that I have great veins and the Red Cross calls a lot since I have

    O neg......

In Ohio, the local paper would put your picture in the paper with a quote why you donated...Everyone said "I donate to help people" and crap like that....When it was my turn, I told the reporter "I donated 'cause I liked NEEDLES"....Needless to say 'they' kicked that one ...

  2. If you guys can believe this, Charter pissed off the NFL apparently and they PULLED the channel from my cable....I am so fuggin PISSED.

I, too, have Charter...When I called, it was explained that the NFL Network desired to be placed in a lower channel number, not in the 300's like it was here..I wudda paid extra to have NFLN in the lower numbers instead of some sterling channel like LifeTime or the equally hideous ShopNBC or any of the other useless shopping channels..

  3. It's been since he was a puppy that I did the bank teller thing....I'll have to give that a shot. I know they make a pretty big fuss over him at the pharmacy drive-thru. Their treats are apparently pretty nasty though, since Obi won't even touch 'em. I pretty much just fake like I'm turning around to give them to him as I'm driving off....otherwise they'd collect in the back seat to the point where it would be kinda ridiculous

What kind of dog ya got?

My dog is a blend of golden lab and a cocker spaniel....11 years on in two weeks

  4. My memory of that day was Las Vegas. We were in LV that weekend and watched the game at the Caesar's Palace Sport book...There were many seats taken by wearers of silver and black..I got there just at kickoff and met some nice Bills fans from Rochester...At half time there were a LOT of empty seats and we celebrated with many beverages... Mrs Lew won a nice jackpot at the dollar slots too YAY !

  5. A friend of mine played for a high school football team called "the Dots" and then played for the U of Hawaii and was a "Rainbow".

Did your friend play at Poca HS in WV,,,,,???

North of Charleston there is a town called POCA and the HS nick name is "Dots"

I am partial to the Lansing Lug Nutz too...One of the best small baseball parks I have ever been to

  6. The fake punt call showed the chutzpah Coach Rich has,,,I loved it.....

re: Couches..I too have Sat on a couch in Morgantown that later became part of the atmosphere.....There is a candle guy who is selling 'couch candles' that are to be burned instead of the couches... $20,,,but it is a BIG candle and I will try to find the link....

on a side note..please pray hard for the 13 miners who are trapped in the collapsed mine in Upshur...

  7. Flutie's drop kick was pretty good...But I am more amazed that the film from the LAST drop kick in 1941 was found...

Then in the press conference Bellichek (SP?) gave kudos the Chris Berman for mentioning Flutie's drop kicks in the CFL....

I remember fooling around in HS football practice with drop kicking...We used to have contests between the old fashioned straight on kickers and the new soccer style kicking.... Geesh that was a LONG time ago, since the soccer style kicking was just starting.....

    Damn I am old.....

  8. -- Pat White, the freshman QB who took over for the injured Adam Bednarik, ran for 220 yards himself, setting a WVU QB rushing record. I've never seen a quarterback run for over 200 yards in a game before.

-- The fans. West Virginia is an often maligned state, for everything from being poorer than say, New York, to the kids in Morgantown that burn couches everytime the Mountaineers win. I saw that there were still a lot of people in the stadium when the final gun sounded, even though the game had been decided late in the third quarter and the wind chill was plunging near zero. One tradition WVU fans do at the end of games is sing "Country Roads" by the late John Denver, so I would think most of the fans who stayed wanted to do that at the end of the "Backyard Brawl".

Next year, the Mountaineers and the Marshall Thundering Herd start an in-state seven year series. Most West Virginians are fans of both teams, so it will be really interesting to see how this series splits the state.

The Marshall--- WVU game next year and for the next several years will be interesting to say the least...Many peeps here in WV are ardently WVU OR Marshall and bad mouth each other a lot....I'll post the links to newspaper articles next fall...

I for one cheer for both and have a front lisense plate that has the WVU and Marshall logo on it with the phrase " The House Divided"

I also have a daughter at each school so it really doesn't matter to me who wins this game....Both places love my tuition checks....

  9. Generally my two daus were well behaved in a public setting....If they misbehaved at a restaurant, they got "the LOOK" and knew that trouble was brewing...

About the worse they ever did was a monster belch ( aided by Dr. Pepper ) that shook windows....

As a kid I misbehaved one time that I can remember...'cuz later that night I got a reminder about what proper restuarant behavior meant....

If the parents do not control the kids, I have no problem with the manager asking the family to leave...
