Isn’t he the guy who doesn’t believe in birds?

EDIT: Just found it. He’s the guy who doesn’t believe in wearing shoes - except on the football field - and doesn’t believe in using utensils “just eat with your hands.”

One of the draft prospects this year doesn’t believe in birds. How or why, I don’t know.

It's just a sarcastic meme "conspiracy theory" amongst the kids to show how dumb info can be spread and believed.

    Yes, exactly.

I mean, really.   When did pro sports become all about entertainment value?

Oh yeah.........that's all it ever was.

Even more so for Sports media/journalism. Folks act like it should be some institution of integrity. It has always been merely a marketing arm for the entertainment leagues that are covered. We arent solving world hunger over here.

Building him up. McDermott knows what he’s doing. I’m sure Claypool is working his butt off but McDermott is trying to get the best out of him by boosting up his confidence.

This is exactly how I read it and kudos to McD for adapting different leadership styles per player personality. Management through the media, and giving him praise to boost his confidence and get even more dedication and buy-in.

  4. Marrone and that Defense in 2014 definitely make the playoffs, maybe even the Super Bowl, with Josh.

Yeah, gotta think the teams coached by Marrone with Allen as QB would have had the same record because he didn't want to develop a rookie QB so Orton still would have been the starter. Put 2023 Allen on that team and they win the SB with Schwartz as their DC.

Marrone didnt want to develop a QB... from one of the worst QB classes of all time in 2013.

I think given a talent like Josh, who was a top 10 pick in one of the more hyped classes, Doug would have coached him.

I will give you reasons why its not dumb

    #1.. One more injury away

    #2 Leverage

#3 his value goes down do to performance.

#4 Another QB gets signed lower than what he wanted $ wise with same talent.

#5 Their star WR's get injured or their line badly injured and in doing so his stats severely drop

i could continue but uh... you have gotten grilled enough on your post :D

Those are all reasons he should sign whatever deal Miami has offered him.

Tua is dumb if he plays this year without a new deal. But if he sits out and Miami lets him walk, his value wont be great either.

    Just make a deal already.

  6. Dumb for him to hold out. I'm sure Miami's FO really doesnt want to give him $50-60M/year.

Maybe that's the issue. The offers from the Dolphins are lower than he expected.

If I were the Dolphins, I'd let him walk. But as a Bills fan I hope he gets himself a big contract there.

    The NFL is weird.

Random person on schedule committee: "What are we gonna do about the Bills games vs the Ravens, Chiefs, Lions, Texans. What primetime slot do we wanna give them?"

Mike North: "Pssh, those games? Primetime? We're gonna do Jags vs Bills on MNF, baby. That's got primetime written all over it

Random person on schedule committee: "and the overseas games? The one main game in that timeslot. What are we gonna do?"

Mike North: "Giants vs Panthers, baby. Ratings blockbuster"

Someone take the pipe from these guys

There might be some logic behind the thinking of "No one will watch Giants/Panthers if it is up against all the other games, so we need to schedule it as the only game on at that time."

Same with giving us the Jags instead of Ravens, Lions, Texans. Those games will dominate ratings even if they are up against 12 other games. No need to waste Prime Time slots on games that already get ratings.

I dont know. I pulled that out of my ass. But I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

  8. He willingly took a big paycut this year to get his cap hit down to $7.7M. That's just a little more than we paid Harty last year, and I expect him to produce more than Harty did.

He is absolutely TE2. Or "Old School TE 1" in that, while Kincaid is listed as a TE, I expect him split out and running routes while Knox lines up with the OL.

I'd bet he'd be willing to rework his entire contract, and take a cut on annual cash if we extended the years.
