1. I think that the Jets might have reached a bit on this one.

On the other hand, does that mean that local guy Roland Williams might see some PT with the Raiders next year? If so, good for him.

Teyo Johnson will see the TE action now that Jolley is gone. I think this is a good trade for the Jets. Jolley is a good athlete with good hands. He'll fit in nice with that offense. Pennington, Coles, MaCareins, Jolley with Martin/Blaylock. That's real nice talent. OC Heimerdinger will have many talented options in which to gameplan for.

  2. Funny, I don't recall their competiton either. When I think of "Buffalo" news, that's who I clearly have in mind. Irv always struck me as being a very short man. Who knows just how tall he was? Conversely, Tom Jolls seemed tall. Who knows. I could have passed Irv at the local AM+A's and not noticed because I wasn't looking down.

  3. I don't know Cincy. He looks more like an NFL safety, than CB.  He's a good athlete and a hitter, but I'm not sure he has the speed and agility to cover NFL receivers in an era which favors the offensive player.  I look at Rolle and I see the Pat's Harrison.

This era DOES favor the offensive player. That's why I don't want to pay him next year what he will command. He's a terriffic CB, but we have to get something for him before he leaves. If we were on the cusp of winning the SB this year I'd say keep him. But we're not. Let's trade him for the best possible deal and move forward.

  4. One of the only places where you can go get a "mighty six pack", divulge in a happy hour featuring Genny Light and Pabst Blue Ribbon on draft and bump into a guy named "Matty Nowitski" from Cheektowaga!

Ckeetowaga!!! That's where I'm from. Eiffel Tower developement on the corner of Union Rd and French Rd. Was an alter boy at St Philips. Father Chet and and Father Janikowski. I remember Father J. as a kinder old man. Father C, well, not as nice. Me and my three brothers used to fight to see who would ring the communion bells. Like it were yesterday. That was 30 years ago now. Pizza by DiRose was awesome, as I recall. Time goes by too quickly, doesn't it?

  5. You raise an excellent point. The thing is, are you willing to take the risk of letting Nate walk without getting any compensation?

The franchise tag is too big of a risk imo, and I seriously doubt that RW is going to cough up a 15 million dollar signing bonus to a cornerback.

Seriously, what chance do you give the Bills on keeping Nate after 05?

    303533

"0" chance. I'd say keep him if we had a chance to compete for the SB. However, I don't think it's realistic. I'd entertain trading him now for the right price. No way does RW cough up what NC will want after another productive year. Too bad, too. I love NC's game. This IS todays NFL though.

  6. Take this...

"We're not interested in that. We've told them that," Donahoe said. "When we receive from somebody what we feel as a staff is a fair trade, we'll make the trade, and if not, we're not going to trade him just to trade him. ... A lot of things could change in the next couple weeks."

I still can't believe how many Bills fans here had downgraded Travis Henry to the point of wanting that grand larceny trade to go down.

    Arizona can shove it.

    303480

Amen, brother!! Let's let TD work some "magic" as he sees fit. He's got something up his sleeve. We're so focused on the Henry/Shelton possibility. I think TH gets traded. I just have a gut feeling that AZ is not his destination.

  7. The Bills will have to at the very least spend their 2nd round pick on Jones.  They probably need to move up to get him.  I'd love to get him since he's a freakish-type of player that only comes around so often.

I agree. "Conventional" hasn't gotten it done to this point. Why not step out and do something bold that might payoff. I believe the Shelton/Henry deal happens in some fashion, straight up or otherwise. Draft this Jones kid and address your OL in rounds 3 and 4. Let's help J.P. out here.

  8. To all who make TBD work, thanks for all your work. I love this place.

I echo your sentiments exactly. Being new to this board like yourself, I've found this arena to be very informative, sometimes funny and mostly just good "posters" bringing mostly good topics to the forefront. Unfortuneately, earlier on, I had a, shall we say, a less than favorable post to one of the long time and esteemed members of this board. This individual knows who I'm talking about. Since that post, I've visited here daily enjoying all the banter that goes on. All the while, I've kicked myself for conducting myself like an idiotic "rookie". If "you"(the offended party) get this message, I'd like to sincerely apologize, and please be assured that only conduct befitting of this wonderful place will be displayed by me moving forward. Having said that.........GO BILLS!!!!!

  9. Droughns is more versitile, but he has fumblitis as well.  In addition he was stuck in Detroit for a few years so I am not sure who is older but it is probably pretty close.  The difference is that Doughns has done it recently, 1200+ yards in only 12 starts or so, where as Travis has not performed well recently.

I'd rather have TH over RD ANYDAY. More accomplished and done so behind a lesser OL. Can't help but think that most GM's would prefer TH game.

  10. I'm curious to see what they paid.  For vet min. or just above it isn't a bad deal.

Although many like to use Wiley as an example of TD's genious, he hasn't been a bust based on lack of talent.  He did very well in SD before getting injured.  Yes, injuries are a part of the game, but it isn't like he was asking for a lot more money that he was worth.  He was a hell of a force when healthy.

I didn't watch enough of Dallas to know whether or not Dallas used him wrong (what Wiley claims), or his level of play came down that much, but for the right price I think he is certainly worth the gamble.  IF he plays well, Jax will have a great Dline.

    291706

I hope DB does for the Cowpokes what Wiley did.

  11. ...but it's gonna cost a couple of buckets of food.

Gilbert Brown was thinking of coming out of retirement to play for the Ravens but they weren't interested. Maybe if we tossed a bunch of ham sandwhiches and a few baskets of wings he might consider shuffling off to Buffalo. Could you imagine the lunch line with him, Mike Williams, and Sam Adams? It would look loke feeding time at the zoo! I'm just having a little trouble figuring out which mammal to compare them too. Any suggestions on comparisons?

    290100

    I'm thinking manatee's.
