Went BPA with every pick here. 54 was tough with a lot of good options available. Makes me really excited that see what Brand does there. This draft is pretty unrealistic in the sheer number of offensive guys, but can you imagine how good our playmakers could be next year, and in the future? Diggs, Brown, Bease, Pittman, and Gandy-Golden is a helluva top5. I think we would keep McKenzie and Roberts. Akers + Singletary is a nice 1-2 punch, and there is a lot of potential between Knox and Okwuegbunam.

Gandy-Golden won’t last anywhere near that long.

Ferguson was the QB when I became a Bills fan. Time really does fly by. Happy Birthday Joe.

Much better than my inaugural season experience as a first time Bills fan.  Jack Kemp was QB, but got hurt in training camp and was out for the season.  I got to watch a never-ending parade of hopefuls cut down with injury, including Tom Flores, Kay Stephenson and Dan Darragh, ending with the understandably reluctant but still a gamer, Ed Rutkowski.

Before Joe was drafted in 1973, there was James Harris and Dennis Shaw, and all losing seasons.

    Ah memories.

I like them. Maybe I am the exception but I am generally a fan of the new uniforms and the slightly more block style of the Falcons and the Pats.

The Pats old uniform was ugly beyond words.

I don't hate them.  But I think the shoulder bars would look better with silver trim around the colored bars so that the contrast isn't as stark.

I don't remember a thing about this '96 Jets game..............By far, the coldest was the Jets and then Raiders back to back 12/26/93 and then the playoff game.

You’re right. It was December 26, 1993 and we clinched a playoff birth.  It was just two weeks before the Raiders game, which I watched in my cozy living room in Hermosa Beach, CA.  ?

“The first measured in at nine degrees, but the wind chill put the temperature well below zero. Neither offense was particularly adept at dealing with the weather, and in a low-scoring game like that, a big difference in special teams can play a huge difference. Steve Christie was solid as always in the cold, nailing three field goals while his Jets counterpart, Cary Blanchard, missed three that would have made the difference. The win clinched a playoff spot for the Bills for the sixth straight year.”

I must be conflating the discussion that happened with the Browns fans with that game. It was also really cold for that game, but was a different game for sure. Old age is setting in. ?

It was my first game at the then Rich Stadium.

My coldest game was the Bills/Jets in ‘96.  Despite my traveling from California and my brother from Texas, we left after the 3rd Qtr. Concessions were out of hot chocolate in the 1st Qtr.

That was one cold sumbeeyatch!!  Wasn’t it like 9 degrees at kickoff and 6 degrees when it ended??  The parking lots were like sheets of ice. My brother did one of those legs slide out from under and he hit the ground hard. It was the season after the Browns had moved to Baltimore and there was a group of Browns fans there with a sign outside the stadium. We commiserated with them for a while before going in.

I’ve been to games since the Rockpile in the late 60’s and that was the coldest one I’ve ever been, too.

Me and my “known him since grade school” buddy made it to the bitterly cold

    end.

Mims is going to be the never talked about in the first round that I truly believe since the Senior Bowl he has made the Most Money.

before Senior bowl saw most people having him as a Day 3 pick. After Senior Bowl most had him in 2nd. After his workout don’t be surprised if he is taken in the first. He has made himself ALOT of money during this process.

And he’s also a Senior with three full seasons as a starter. This brain trust likes seniors for their maturity and experience.

IMUO (in my uneducated opinion) part of Allen's problem is that his technique still breaks down under pressure, so I hope that's something they'll work on.

This happens for most humans at first when making drastic changes in approach. Even if not consciously, it’s easy for the brain to revert back to what you knew best until those new habits become completely integrated.

I also think part of the problem is simply information overload. How much can one learn and integrate as habit over a short time frame, both physically and mentally.

Josh played football for a rural farm town high school. So did I. Our head coach was our social studies teacher who was a former marine who was more worried about if your hair could be seen from the back of the helmet than what kind of plays we were running.

Josh then played JUCO football his first year, red shirted at Wyoming the next and then played two seasons at Wyoming. I doubt Josh got much in the way of structured coaching regarding his footwork, his delivery, his touch, etc. Wyoming is not Louisville, USC or Oklahoma.

I’m sure the Bills never planned for him to even play his first season and he got thrown in and had to use his instincts and sheer athletic ability to overcome his less than optimal mechanics, and his limited knowledge of reading defenses, etc. He actually did pretty well, but he needed a complete overhaul to be successful in the NFL.

I think his lack of success this season on the long ball has a lot to do with info overload. His makeover into a timing passer in the shorter routes probably required all of his capacity for learning and doing. His long ball was probably greatly de-emphasized in favor of the higher priority of making him over to operate as an NFL pocket passer.

I believe, with his work ethic, that he will take another significant step, by not only reinforcing what he’s already learned, but also refining his touch on deeper routes. I think he’s come a long, long way, and he will continue that this year. Kid’s never had anything handed to him, and he will put in  the hard work necessary to reach his potential. We all will be very happy.

lol yeah because he’s a sure thing. Amazing how certain people will go to bat for certain players that haven’t proven squat. Certainly not anything close to what Phillips proved this season. Wonder why that is? ???

Harry was hurt and out for the season. Kind of hard to prove anything from the sideline in street clothes.

I like Jordan Phillips a lot. But only at the right price.

And no, you’re little subtextual message was not lost on me. I’m just dismissing it.

Knox frustrates me so much.  He can be a Mauler at times blocking.  Then he can totally whiff, like he did on that strip sack block on Judon.

He can bring in the high degree of difficulty catch.  Then he can drop the bunnies.

I need throat lozenges to make it through the game, and Knox is one reason why.

I understand the frustration, but he is a rookie that was drafted more on his physical potential than his pass blocking polish and huge receiving numbers.

I see him a lot like Josh. He needs work on the fundamentals this offseason and needs to work out the dropsies, but I expect him to take a huge step next season. In the meantime, he will continue to make some amazing plays interspersed with some really frustrating fails.

Get the man more targets. He’s showed up in the red zone the past few weeks which is great.

The issue is his targets are limited. He has 2 targets today.  I understand the Bills were trying establish the run all day but his targets have drastically dropped. In the first 3-4 games he was averaging like 7 targets a game.

Cole is super tough to cover inside 5 yards. I’d like to see Daboll use more bunch sets, move Beasley in motion more, rub routes crossing route etc. I just feel Beasley is not being used right and could be more productive and help this offense if Daboll makes a serious effort to move him around and get him more targets. It would also benefit John Brown, keep get some quick passes to Beasley and suck up the Safeties.

Just hate seeing someone who can get open quickly get limited to no targets.

Does that mean he's only being used left???

Eh...the defense only allowed 14 points when it really counted.  I didn't see the game but I could chalk-up the last TD by the Dols to prevent defense/thinking they had the game in hand being up by 10.

And this started with our just previous possession where we ran it straight into the middle of the defense three straight times and punted it back to them.

I HATE playing not to lose. I don’t mind running on first down there, although I think play action would have been the better call. But they basically conceded to running clock and punting.

Dude have you ever met a lawyer?  They will sue McDonald's because coffee is hot.  They will certainly point out in court that the Rams helmets mimic real  rams and real rams lead with head to head contact.  It certainly has more merit than hot coffee.

Did you know that at that trial evidence was introduced that McDonalds had a policy that their coffee was to be served only about 20 degrees under boiling, specifically to discourage refills to increase profits?  They found that if they did that, it took so long for it to cool off that most people left with it and didn’t get a refill.

Did you also know that the elderly woman who suffered the burns was not driving, nor was her son (he parked), when she tried to put sugar and cream in her coffee? Remember those super flimsy styrofoam cups of the past?  She put it between her knees so she could tear the packets and cream (no stable place to rest it in the car) and she squeezed in reaction to dropping something and that flimsy cup collapsed, the lid flipped off and the coffee sloshed into her lap and crotch at about 190 degrees plus.

She suffered 3rd degree burns on her genitalia and had to spend several days in the hospital because they had to do skin grafts. She contacted McDonalds and requested only that they pay her out of pocket expenses for her treatment, and they refused.

Only after several attempts to request reimbursement of OOP expenses did she decide to sue. What really PO’d the jury is that it turned out that scores of such instances were occurring and McD’s was well aware and they did nothing about it. They could have simply lowered the temp of coffee for the drive thru. They could have provided sturdier cups based on that notice. And they could have reimbursed her for her expenses. They did none of that. All in the name of profit.

Sometimes plaintiffs really PO juries With their callous behavior and juries feel the need to punish. After reading the evidence in the case opinion, I am with the jury.

Sorry for the slight derail, but you distracted me. ?

Ok did I meant on any?  Nope. Mentioned a Position. You can call Semantics. I am not discussing politics those that are are the ones calling me out for making a comparison to a Position.

You used the article “the.”  That is not a generic reference to a position. And I would assume that even disparaging a political office is still politics. But sure, sure. At some point you will hear from a Mod. Believe me, I know. ?
