Doesn’t matter with the rest of his post season failures and the inability to retool and adapt properly after FA kicked in. Regular season means nothing if others beat you in the playoffs. Do you remember the year when Shurmur and GB unveiled a 3-3 nickel against SF and Seifert had no answer for it?

Every coach has had games with no answer.  Levy had a bunch.

I was using Seifert because he has the same career super bowl wins and a better career winning percentage than Johnson.

I respect what Johnson did, but also respect Vermiel, Seifert, Flores who also won Super Bowls and are not in the Hall.  Plenty of coaches without SB wins who are hall worthy also.

Walsh set him up with a hall of fame QB and probably the best player (non QB) in the history of the sport.

Flores absolutely deserves to be in the Hall of Fame in some capacity (player/coach combo). He was definitely a trailblazer (Hispanic).

Who was the non QB player your referring to?

And yes, Flores does belong based on what you said.

Yup. It was Walsh’s program. Seifert just didn’t screw it up. Although, it’s debatable because he didn’t do particularly well against JJ and Holmgren in the playoffs.

First win was Walsh’s team.  Still won.

Second win, Walsh was no longer with the team.

Certainly debatable, but Seifert didn’t really build that program.

Defiantly debatable.  Used him as a measuring stick.  He was HC of the niners  for 8 years, so believe he had something to do with building the teams.

What about Tom Flores, he also won 2 Super Bowls.

    Getting a bit off topic...

    How’s it even debatable?

The Cowboys were the team of the decade (90’s) and JJ was the architecht.

Hopefully its Week 17 and they are resting their starters.

Why are they the team of the decade?

Seifert’s record was better than Johnson.

    Shula won championships before then.

Johnson was a great coach, yes. Just don't think he belongs in the Hall.

    Agree.

    Johnson was 144-80 overall, .556%.

    George Seifert 176-114, .648.

Both won 2 Super Bowls.  Nobody ever speaks of Seifert being HOF and he arguably had a better coaching career than Johnson.

Yeah, JJ won multiple SBs and had a very high winning %. Cowboys were kind of a joke when he took over. Think he was a quasi GM there too.

He did win a lot of games and a couple of Super Bowls.  Just never thought of him as a HOF coach, especially with his dolphins experience.

JJ seems a bit more choked up than Cowher did

Funny, was kinda wondering how he made the hall when that dude walked out.  Levy did, and he didn’t win a Super Bowl so I guess I get it.

Never thought of Johnson as a great coach.

It was over after the boneheaded 4 and half a yard FG and fake punt attempt.  Also, zero D on either side.

2nd half was just a waste of time. Texans were just way to overmatched,

Wasn’t truly over until middle of 4th quarter.  Without thinking about our Bills, was a fun game to watch.
