I noticed that as well when watching last night. It's hard to say that the BUFFALOB BILLS JUST BUSTED THE DOLPHINS A$$! But like others have said; it will take a few more such performances to gain some respect and then they will be giving us knob jobs as well; filling our heads and getting our expectations high!
-
I should have listen! I wanted to send it to a Cowboy fan but that was just some GARBAGE!
-
I agree with all your points. But that should have been a fumble and a fight for the ball. Who knows; maybe those Bills players around the ball get stupid and try to pick it up and the Dolphins recover. Or what if those Bills players hadn't been there and the Doplhins had fell on it? Or worse, what if it was Culpepper; a big, strong QB who in struggling trying to break loose from a Bill's defender briefly in the grasp for a second as this play was and the ball was stripped by a second defender and they blow a quick whistle? There would be outrage here on TwoBillsDrive! I just want to let the players decide the game and have the refs "judgement" calls mean as little as possible; based on another ref's judgement of the play he probably doesn't blow the whistle as quick and it is ruled a fumble. If a QB is fighting to break lose from a defender and he hasn't been controlled for more than 2-3 seconds, then the play shouldn't be ruled dead.

How did the notion of JP being a turnover waiting
bluv replied to bluv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As I said before it is that never ending battle that he will have to one up on every aspect to prove to certain critics. In the beginning just playi ng average and not losing games is fine. But then it is we are winning in spite of you and then you need to put up stats. If you put up stats and don't win it all then that will be pointed out. If you win it all put have poor stats that will be pointed out. Its like being successful in life as someone will alwasy point out what you are lacking in and not notice what you do right but point out what is wrong or what you can do better. If you are single; some will tell you that need a girlfriend. Once you find one and go on two dates, then you should be getting married. Then if you've been married for a year then it's where are the kids? Then after kids you will find that specific type who will point out that you need to stay shape, don't drink, micro manage your kids, further your career and broaden your horizons, drive a fancy car and own a fancy home, be a deacon or more involved in the church, and then walk on water and be able to feed your family for a year on 5 loafs of bread and 2 fish! For those types you never gonna win so why does it matter? -
My words exactly as I watched. I mean the defender didn't have a defnite hold and control of him; the only reason the whistle was blown was because of the second defender who swipe for the ball instead of going for the kill. I can see if the defender had his arms wrapped around JP as was getting ready to put him down and a defender was bearing in to knock him to next week. Blowing the play dead that quickly doesn't give the QB a chance to be a playmaker. What if JP had broke lose from the first defender and the second defender had missed on his attempt to swipe the ball and completed a pass for a TD? That would be shown in all the highlights and he would be hailed as a playmaker. They might as well put a flag on the Qb's these days. If that was a RB and a second defender came up and blasted him then that would be a fumble no doubt. Why protect the QB when you don't protect the RB's? I know some will say you need to protect the QB's and I agree to a point. If they are trying to break grasp from a defender to get free to make a play they shouldn't be treated any different than any other position on the field. But this is a violent game and players are going to get hurt no matter what protection is in place and ending such plays immaturely that quickly to protect QB's is a little iffy. Let the players decide the outcome.

How did the notion of JP being a turnover waiting
bluv replied to bluv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And that is why I said SO FAR! It seems like a lot of people are just expecting he will flop; start throwing picks and fumbling. They are hoping he will and the sad thing is a lot of them are so called Bills fans! Now I'll be the first to admit, I want to see Drew flop in Dallas to be the first to tell my loud mouth Cowboy fan friend who thinks Bledsoe is on ar with the greats to say see I told you he was OVERRATED! But when he was a Bill I at least wanted to see him have success. But even if some had the same attitude with a 10 year vet, how can you have that attitude with a 10 game 3rd year QB? I mean some expect him to be a top fantasy QB and lead us on 99 yard drives and if he has a mishap want to point it out. For you see until you win it all, there will always be a but; no matter how good or consistent your play is...don't believe me ask Peyton Manning or Dan Marino! -
He and Holcomb's arm both!

What is up with this article and other such notions that JP is a turnover waiting to happen: About the Bills His biggest problem last year was not losing games by turning the ball over by throwing picks or fumbling it was that he wasn't accurate enough to win games. Those who say that the Bills are coddling him and not forcing him to win or lose the games and allow the D and running game to win games; wasn't that the plan last year as well? But wait a minute, the D fell way off from number 2 to number 30th and self proclaimed best back in the league fell off as well; especially since he wasn't part of the Murlarkey package. If the rest of the team was solid last year, JP could have put up similar numbers playing safe last year and then by this year he would have been even further ahead. But last year he definitely wasn't ready to win games but the should have been left in anyway to gain experience for the Bills weren't going anywhere. Now while JP has been accused of a lot of things, being turnover prone is not one of them, SO FAR! ANy anybody who suggest so hasn't watched him play and just assumes so based on his win-loss record and fantasy stats!
-
As a wise man once quoted: They are just going to "STAY THE COURSE!"
-
Exactly; they don't watch the games, just highlights and stats. But what I don't get is how they get all hot in the panties over how so much Vick has improved when he has pass for as many yards as JP and his team scored what; 14 points? Now he did run for a 100 plus but if he puts up those same numbers, 14 points and they lose then it is Vick runs too much. The same for JP; if we win and he has an ordinary day the media will give him too much praise as oppose to last week he was given too much blame for a lost.

much better atitude from willis...
bluv replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That was a really impressive block and OVERLOOKED and not mentioned enough. I bashed WM a lot last week as he tiptoed and danced too much in the 2nd half in game 1 but most of the time he ran downhill against Miami and that is what I like to see him wear down the D and punish defenders. I don't mind him shaking and baking as long as he is moving forward. When he runs more like Bo Jackson than trying to be Barry Sanders he is so much more effective! -
But we are not an elite team BUT we won on the road with a team full of rookies. I hate nickpickers in this situation for nobody is picking the Bills to win it all. Now if we were 2-0 or if we manged to be 5-1 and played with all the flaws we showed today then I would be more critical. But for this team who got shafted by the NFL by given them a questionable schedule by having them open in NE and then follow up in Miami after they had 10 days off ; for them to should have pulled out a victory in week one and pretty much shutdown Miami all on the road, I'm pretty impressed and any Bills fan should be as well. We can get picky when we are considered a threat and can get some national media attention; at least a highlight or two!

Worst. Highlight show. Ever.
bluv replied to GhostsOfTheRockpile's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And they like to focus on the individual player than team play and it doesn't seem like you said that they even watch all the games and form opinions of stats and highlights -
Well he does; Zach Thomas use to but I guess he stop paying his dues to the football gods!
-
And we need JP to have %90 completion percentage with a 150 QB rating and Willis to average 6 yards a run and then walk on water and then turn it into wine for the victory celebration as well....

Another (Potentially) Colossal Mistake By The Refs
bluv replied to GhostsOfTheRockpile's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No; that was a quick whistle. That call was about as bad as the blown whistle on Whitner's INT last week! And you know what, I'm SO GLAD it was! It's about time WE get a break for the officiating gods! -
I liked in the 4th qusrter when he rolled out the pocket and he kept his eyes downfield and scrambled for about 6 yards after he didn't have any other options.

Another (Potentially) Colossal Mistake By The Refs
bluv replied to GhostsOfTheRockpile's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is why I hate such calls; let the players play and take the skirts off the Qb's. If that play was reversed there would be mad crying on this side; especially from me! The second player came in and knocked the ball out. While I'm glad finally the Bills are on the positive side of a call for a change (ABOUT TIME), the NFL refs need some more training and either fine them or at least make them do pushups or run laps or something when they screw up calls! -
I dont care about his numbers.....my hat goes

Exactly; this isn't college football; we don't need any BCS votes! -
Now will they give the Bills D credit or...
bluv replied to bluv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly for the Jets is a team that they don't expect much from and it won't make their predictions look bad and with another defensive performance they will start to kiss up to us; I just hope it doesn't get to our young player's head! -
Another (Potentially) Colossal Mistake By The Refs
bluv replied to GhostsOfTheRockpile's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But we got lucky this week because of a quick whistle as JP clearly fumbled the ball in the 3rd quarter. If the play wasn't blown dead though there was a Bill there to fall on the ball. About time for us to get a break from the refs! -
Now will they give the Bills D credit or...
bluv replied to bluv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is why I love the NFL: it doesn't matter what the experts think. This isn't college where how you look before and during the season and who you impress to get votes matters; it doesn't matter if you look good in a win or bad it in a lose. Now that the offseason is over it is time to PUT UP or SHUT UP. That is why I hate all thse so called "experts" who only focus on a game or 2 but don't really follow the rest of the teams besides stats and ESPN highlights but then claim to know the game. Maybe they need to do their homework and actually watch all the games and make better picks! -
Now will they give the Bills D credit or...
bluv replied to bluv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly. And I'll bet that ESPN highlights will focus on Daunte getting sacked and stress how bad he played rather than showing a positive Bills play. And to think all those experts who jumped on the Dolphins and Pats bandwagon, IF we had pulled it out last week AND IF the Jets somehow beat the Pats, then next Sunday the so-called "cellar dwellars" would be fighting it out for 1st place in the AFC EAST. Also I must give credit to Levy and all his young defensive draft picks. Some called them ludicrous but they have paid off so far. -
Now will they give the Bills D credit or...
bluv replied to bluv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And if Takeo could come back and fill those gaps the run D will be a little better. I must also give props to Murlarkey for not sticking with the run and playing to our strength of rushing the passer. Since The Jets can't run, let's hope it is a long day fo Pennington next week! GO BILLS! -
I can see it now: ESPN just talking about how bad the Dolphins offense looked and how could they lose at home to a team starting 4 rookies on D... BUT how about giving credit to the young D as while their offense left them out to dry most of the game, still shutdown Culpepper having him result to mostly dumpoff passes when he wasn't getting sack. Give those Bills some props for they are OVERDUE!
