Okay, y'all convinced me to buy one of these Anova rigs. Firing er up today. Bought a $40 vacuum sealer on Amazon that seems to work great and be very easy, went to the local restaurant supply for a 4.5-gallon plastic container with lid for $20. So all ready equipment wise! BTW, if you go direct to the Anova site they have $50 off, free shipping and no tax right now. Thanks to Augie for the help and suggestions on equipment! I have a 5 lb rib roast ready to go. Some sites say use fresh herbs, other suggest dried much better in sous vide. Would love to hear from folks what they like best and how they prep a roast like that. Looks like a 6-7 hour bath would be perfect for this piece of meat. If that sounds off, please let me know. Also, if you all have any favorite recipes be great if you could share here, looking forward to using this piece of equipment this winter.

Awesome post and pictures... Felt bad for the one section of flag holders...visitors side, tunnel end...had only like 3 folks for that half end of the flag...evryone else had like 10!

i am a sufferer of Cluster Headaches...and let me tell you there is a reason they call them the "the Beast" or "Suicide Headaches". Here is just a quick excerpt from a description of them. There are cluster attack behaviors that distinguish them from migraines or other types of headache. Cluster sufferers cannot lie down or remain still, but feel they have to pace around or move in some way. In the worst attacks, they may crawl or roll on the floor, pound their fists on their heads or the floor, or even pound their heads on the floor or wall. Muttering, swearing and screaming is common, escalating with the severity of the pain. I have spent many a night in my 30's and 40's pounding my head against the floor, and scaring the chit out of my kids.....so i sympathise with migraine sufferers. And never doubt someone when they say they are debilitated by a headache...i can tell you i have busted my leg, busted my elbow, been hit the nuts numerous times...nothing comes close to the pain of these headaches.

i stayed at the Embassy Suites this trip...went onto the bar later on Saturday..say around 11.30 PM. I agree the decor did not match what i was expecting from a high-end steak joint. But hey, i was at the bar and it was packed with, as the say, "a mature crowd", so i decided to grab a beer. They had a decent draft beer selection, and i ordered a Tank 7, one of favorites , and i drink quite often.Beer was skunked and bad...like something seriously wrong with the beer.Like bad like people could get sick from it. Bartender argued with me about it., and implied i just did not know the style and what a good Saison should taste like. Okay. Chalk one up to the customer is always wrong! And, i am quite sure there was more than one pro in that joint...said no thanks to the beer and headed up to the room and drank a free SmartMouth Saison!!!!. Went back down Sunday...asked if they had taken the Tank 7 off the list as it was bad and someone may get sick...bartender said they had heard from a few people tasted bad on Saturday, but they would keep till the keg kicks. HMMMMM

this was somewhat a tongue in cheek thread as the the majority of "stadium experience" threads only B word about going to games..and our glorious shoutouts on Deadspin.
