I get you on the political side.  Anything you say, do, think is attacked, questioned, manipulated, misconstrued or used as a bludgeon against you--it's a dirty business.

I think your response is interesting, given your background.  I think you're taking some liberties on the definition of what may/may not be 'humane' where it comes to the actions of your uncle the experienced 'hunter/trapper'.

I highly doubt he would have put down a dog that needed better training. And he really was a hunter/trapper/farmer. The only man i know who truly lived off the land.

How did you put your dogs, and other animals down?  I’m assuming a visit to/from a vet?

No, my uncle was the experienced hunter/trapper so he would do it. That said I don't remember any dogs getting put down but he would have done it. Cows, pigs, a hurt rabbit, raccoon or skunk. It was the humane thing to do.

But i never ran for politics and wrote a book containing such things because that would be stupid.

    You answered it right there.

If they're not there to represent their constituents who elected them then why would it surprise anyone that they'd align behind their own collective self interests over anything else?

i am never surprised when politicians are selfish. it is nothing new. they all do it.

The 25% is only the percentage of the politicians, not the people who voted for them…

The American citizens vote for their representatives, only to get the opposite of what they voted for…👍

sure, these are the rules we have. and they take advantage. greed is an excellent motivator and has been for a looooooooong time.

  4. Uniparty?

On the one hand i agree, the political class is largely in it for themselves and they always make sure to benefit from their position.

On the other hand...~75% support is hard to deny. Or should the USA be ruled by 25%?

There's a ton of judging here based on the extremists of both sides. It's a cheap tactic. Most people in our country are not extremists.

i hope you are right. im Canadian and i think we are in the same boat...mostly regular people of all kinds (including christians and transgender people) that are fine and then extreme loud ends of the spectrum that take up too much air time.

A day of visibility for a group about .003% of the population that gets discussed and media and social attention constantly.  Like we're not hearing trans stories of triumph and tragedy 24/7 already.  Aren't other groups or people worthy of more attention and visibility?

day of Trans remembrance started 1999. Day of Visibility 2009. both well before the saturation we have now. do we cancel the day because of this?  id say easter saturates even more...do we cancel it? i dont think so.

yeah there are many groups worthy and we do have days (or months) for them. and if there are some that wish more attention that don't have it then go ahead i cant see why not.

Ugh, how about loving yourself for what you are instead of mutilating yourself and forcing delusion on others?

I don't think anyone hates these people. Isn't the left violently infuriated that there's republicans? or christians?

or people who like trump?  What's wrong with just being who you are like everyone else and leaving it at that.

Why punish others with this bizarre attention seeking on personal issues?

how about just loving each other regardless? you really think most trans people want to push an agenda beyond the same one you espouse "just be who you are" (ie not "be who i want you to be")

there are some lefties who hate Rs and Christians and those who support trump for exiating and that is wrong for sure.

and i dont think there are many trans people doling out punishments.

  8. wow, the hatred runs deep...especially for a set of people most know nothing about or have personal experience with.

yes, there are bad people in the world, some of whom are trans. what a revelation.

i thought jesus loved everyone and that Christians strive to act like Jesus. he seems like a great person...what is with all of the hatred? why is it so insulting to celebrate anything or anyone other than Easter on Easter? do you really think jesus would meet this with hatred, or with love? i think he would be ashamed of what has been perpetrated in his name.

edit: Christianity has such promise in concept but in practice...not so much. to quote irv, "what a mess".

Kids can't read, write, perform basic math, or understand the English language and leave school without any basic life skills but idiots think class time should be devoted to things kids figured out without the help of teachers and schools since the beginning of time.

Kids have been learning about families in school for a long while.

And before you misunderstand, yes, porn is not for kids.

I feel the opposite. The losses are getting harder.

I was able to deal with the losses during the drought much more easily.

not me. i watched the games back then to find any hope at all that we might be good. the flashes of good plays and players. it was generally depressing that we didn't have much.

now, we have a very good team with superman at qb. win or lose, most of the time it's just awesome to watch. the incredible athleticism and unbridled aggression on both sides of the ball. every game, at almost any point, i think "we can win".  it's been a long time coming so i'm determined to enjoy the ride.
