  1. Would the Bills be better off getting someone immediately for Travis than a 3rd round pick or something? Wouldn't they benefit with a lineman who can step in now? 3rd round pick, nice, but doesn't help us right now.

Too bad Travis just can't except his backup roll, get his 15-20 carries a game and really help us win a championship. The Bills would be awesome with WM and TH in the backfield!! Too bad its all about MONEY!!!!!!!!

  2. QUOTE:

This is a guy I would like to see the Sabres draft in an area where they are sorely lacking...blueline toughness. He will probably go in the top 5 picks...

    Jack Johnson

    TEAM: US National Program

Yeah, This guy is easily to go top 5 for sure. If not Crosby (C'mon Hockey Gods...) Then JOHNSON. Punishing hitter, solid Defensman. I'd be very happy.

  3. He's a restricted free agent.  The big question is if he's worth the amount of money he would want.  Not only is he a soft player, his effort has also come into question.  You have to wonder if the money could be better spent on one or two other players.

Personally, I want him to stay.  I don't want to buy a new jersey.

Thats exactly it. He does not seem to have the "heart" to play for the Sabres anymore. He was hitting the "trade me" button 2 yrs ago. Remember the fake cell phone call to his agent right when he scored a game winner? That tells you something. I think he is still a hell of a good player, but I don't think he wants to be in WNY bottom line. He led the Sabres in scoring last season but Briere was only a couple shy of him and led the team in points overall (Briere). So in essence, if we can get another natural goal scorer in the free agent frenzy soon, then I suggest the Sabres forget SATAN and move on. I would love to see him work with VANEK though, but I believe his time is done unfortunately.

  4. We still have Brierre, and Afinogenov if he comes back from Russia.  We'll see if we still have Satan, and Hecht has shown some flashes of brilliance in the past.  I'd say there is a good deal of scoring potential on the Sabres now.  God, how long has it been since we've seen a sabres team that can put the puck in the net?

Thats right. Briere, Max, Drury, Hecht, JP Dumont and Satan (if he stays) are some good examples of the current scorers on the roster. Add Roy and Vanek to the mix and we have some firepower.

And then when the Sabres draft Crosby :) we will be rolling!!

  5. As much as Reiger gets blasted for some trades and moves, he did have some vision as to gather guys who were not too expensive and to keep them around pre-lockout. Right now, the Sabres are sitting pretty good as we have one of the most complete rosters in the league. I think we will lose MIRO SATAN and ZHITNIK but hopefully we can replace them with some FA signing.

So overall, I'm optimistic that the Sabres have hung tight and are ready to be very competitive post CBA. Plus, we have about 5 very solid guys coming up from ROCHESTER (Vanek, Roy, Miller, Gustaud and Pominville). The playing field should level out and help small market teams like BUF to compete. Obviously, there are still many holes, but I think Darcy can get some good guys in here.

SCREW Detroit, Colorado, Dallas and NYRangers!!!!! :)

Thanks CORP! This is the best post of the day bar none!!

  7. YES! YES! YES!

I've got my ice back come fall! YAHOOOOOO!!

LETS GO BUFFALO! The Sabres can be dangerous this year. We have some outstanding Offense coming in from ROC. The free agent market can be advantageous as well. We need 1 or 2 solid vet Defenseman to come in. I think Zhitnik might be gone. Kalinin is our best D man. Mckee has lost a step and I don't think he will regain form. I really want to see Jillson step it up this year as he can be a good player.

I think MIRO will leave however. Although I would love to see him come back and play with Vanek on the same line with Drury at center. BAM!!

Lets get back to hockey boys! And Bills football. See I didn't forget about the gridiron! :)

  8. Can't get the Ticket until (if I recall) 2010 at the earliest.  I'd expect DirecTV to renew the contract at that time as well, so don't hold your breath. :(

You can't get Empire because Empire doesn't exist.  You can get mSG if you want it.  Can't get Canada stuff as far as I know (but maybe?).

And I'm not sure how you can say it's not "true satelite" anymore --- the dish "truely" gets broadcasts from a bird...

    CW

I know Empire is dead, hence the RIP!

What I mean about "True Satellite" is that back in the 80's do you remember those huge hunking saucers people would have in their backyards? The dish was large and you could get access to shows in freaking China, Europe etc! What does the 21st century Satellite have to offer now? You can't get any of that stuff from other countries or the other side of the USA. Am I correct on this? I'm not bashing people with Satellite, I just don't see the point other than Football (which I love, but too much hassle and no out of area channels!)

  9. I think it's gonna be a while.  If I remember right, they recently extended the exclusive DTV contract through 2007 or 2008 or something like that.

    372811[/snapback]

Wow, bummer for me. So basically, Sunday Ticket DTV is the only thing keeping satellite alive?! I mean, you get the same damn programs with Digital Cable.

    I think I hate all these cable/network giants :(

  10. Question.

Is DTV / Sunday Ticket going to end and eventually go to Digital Cable? I did not know if they had a contract which might expire soon and then we can all subscribe without having to get a stupid dish sattelite. Similar to what NHL Center Ice, NBA and MLB have on Digital Cable.

My point is, I don't want to go thru the hassle of switching to DTV just for football for 5 months. I'll just go to the sports book (Vegas!) or bar and get the game. I mean, satellite is NOT even true satelite anymore. Living out west, you can't get channels back East such as (Empire= R.I.P., MSG network, CBC Canada... etc). Am I correct? I think DTV is not all that great, but this is coming from a digital cable subscriber and never a dish owner, so I might be biased on it, but that is they way its seems to me.

Any thoughts on this or insight. I just wish I could get Sunday Ticket on freakin' digital cable for crying out loud!!

  11. Good to see Will Smith setting at least somewhat a decent example. Too much negative influence from all that hip hop gangsta rap nowadays. Makes me sick.

I remember the mid to late 80's when rap was fun with good beats and rhythm. Groups like 3rd Base, Tribe Called Quest, Jungle Brothers, Stetsasonic, Run DMC, YO MTV Raps. None of those groups had the image of gangbanging.

I guess we have NWA and 2 Live Crew to thank for all this crap rap which has led us to such great artists as 50 cent, Eminem and everyother punk on the crap radio stations. <_<
