  1. terrorists could help themselves "to the greatest explosives bonanza in history."

Yet, iraq posed no threat of terrorism, and did not have weapons of mass destruction (whatever 380 tons of highly dangerous explosives is...), and sadam did not need to be taken out of power. It was the wrong war at the wrong time. We should have let sadam have those 380 tons of weapons at his disposal. You guys are amazing.

  2. Okay, believe what you want to believe. I saw this being reported on both foxnews and msnbc already. It will break hard tomorrow i am sure. NBC was evidently THERE when troops arrived and these weapons were already gone. We'll jsut let this play out since neither of us really has enough info to have a logical debate on this topic. But it does look like kerry jumped the gun to make this a high profile issue today.

  3. Per Drudge:

XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX MON OCT 25 2004 22:45:05 ET XXXXX

NBCNEWS: HUGE CACHE OF EXPLOSIVES VANISHED FROM SITE IN IRAQ -- AT LEAST 18 MONTHS AGO -- BEFORE TROOPS ARRIVED

The NYTIMES urgently reported on Monday how the Iraqi interim government has warned the United States and international nuclear inspectors that nearly 380 tons of powerful conventional explosives are now missing from one of Iraq's most sensitive former military installations.

Jumping on the TIMES exclusive, Dem presidential candidate John Kerry blasted the Bush administration for its failure to "guard those stockpiles."

"This is one of the great blunders of Iraq, one of the great blunders of this administration," Kerry said.

    In an election week rush:

**ABCNEWS Mentioned The Iraq Explosives Depot At Least 4 Times

**CBSNEWS Mentioned The Iraq Explosives Depot At Least 7 Times

**MSNBC Mentioned The Iraq Explosives Depot At Least 37 Times

**CNN Mentioned The Iraq Explosives Depot At Least 50 Times

But tonight, NBCNEWS reported, once: The 380 tons of powerful conventional explosives were already missing back in April 10, 2003 -- when U.S. troops arrived at the installation south of Baghdad!

An NBCNEWS crew embedded with troops moved in to secure the Al-Qaqaa weapons facility on April 10, 2003, one day after the liberation of Iraq.

According to NBCNEWS, the HMX and RDX explosives were already missing when the American troops arrived.

It is not clear why the NYTIMES failed to report the cache had been missing for 18 months -- and was reportedly missing before troops even arrived.

"The U.S. Army was at the sight one day after the liberation and the weapons were already gone," a top Republican blasted from Washington late Monday.

The International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors last saw the explosives in January 2003 when they took an inventory and placed fresh seals on the bunkers.

Dem vp hopeful John Edwards blasted Bush for not securing the explosives: "It is reckless and irresponsible to fail to protect and safeguard one of the largest weapons sites in the country. And by either ignoring these mistakes or being clueless about them, George Bush has failed. He has failed as our commander in chief; he has failed as president."

A top Bush official e-mailed DRUDGE late Monday: "Let me get this straight, are Mr. Kerry and Mr. Edwards now saying we did not go into Iraq soon enough? We should have invaded and liberated Iraq sooner?"

  4. The OVERWHELMING consensus when JP was drafted is that he was very raw and very immature. He would need 2-3 seasons of riding the pine before stepping on the field. Then he broke his leg. Now people want to start him and expect roth type numbers? Get out of town. Now Matthews, there is an idea I can get behind. But losman? Maybe give him a cup of coffee here and there, but thats aobut it.

  5. There's a reason Mathews is the 4th string QB (behind Bledsoe, Brown, Losman) and was out of the league until two injuries in one week hit the QBs.

Uh...you realize matthews is our #2, and has been all season, right? Brown is now on indianapolis (i think.., but he is not here).

  6. I think George W. might've gone so far to the right that he looped back and is now at the fringe left. This man is no traditional conservative. I'm voting for Kerry b/c it might force the GOP to get back to reality instead of this sideshow.

Thank god you live in Ct! While I agree W is not your typical conservative and I disagree with him on MANY issues, a vote for a conservative candidate (Lib. party) would go further to show your point. Also, voting for kerry because bush is not conservative enough is a JOKE. Even a moderate bush is better for the country. There could be up to FOUR supreme court vacancies in the next 4 years. Help us all if kerry puts 4 more ginsbergs on there. On my 2 major issues (terrorism and courts), bush wins hands down. Now if only we could get him to stop spending like a drunken sailor in the phillipines....

  7. I have a hard time faulting him because nearly every move he has made I supported at the time, and continue to support (with the exception of GW). I like the personnel on this team, though we need to do something with our offense. Obviously reciever wasnt the problem like we thought it was. Drew needs TIME. Either we give him time or find a quarterback who can help himself a little. I am off the drew bandwagon and think he should be gone. Start matthews and see what happens. If nothing else, it should give us better insight as to exactly what the problem is.

  8. Wow, did you READ the intro? Let me paste it for you:

Unfortunately, this election does not offer traditional conservatives an easy or natural choice and has left our editors as split as our readership. In an effort to deepen our readers’ and our own understanding of the options before us, we’ve asked several of our editors and contributors to make “the conservative case” for their favored candidate. Their pieces, plus Taki’s column closing out this issue, constitute TAC’s endorsement. —The Editors

Basically they are taking EVERY candidate and making the CONSERVATIVE CASE for them. Here they are making the CONSERVITIVE CASE for kerry. Notice the links to "Old Right Nader" , "Constitutionally Correct Peroutka", "Libertarian Resistence" Don't try to twist this...its obvious to anyone who looks at it what is going on here.

  9. early in the 2nd round, it depends on who is left on the board. CB is a possibility. Safety is a possibility. DE and TE are possibilities. (Never shoulud have let riemersma go). AND if that kicker (cant remember his name) is around, possibly Kicker (as much as i would hate to).

Also if a good LB is around, its a possibility if our need positions are gone. LB depth would be good, and a possible posey replacement. And of course OL. So to make a long story short(er), we take the best player available. Duh. Too bad we dont have a first because it would make watching these games at least a little easier to swallow.

  10. Well, I dont know if that is necessarily true in this case. Remember Hawaii has alot of military members and family (who overwhelmingly support the war).

I also dont believe in the undecideds breaking against the incumbent. This is such a democratic state, why cant the democrats commit to voting for kerry? There must be something they dont like.

I dont expect hawaii to go to bush, but its very interesting its that close.

  11. Per the Honolulu adviser, Bush leads Hawaii 43.3% to 42.6% in a 2 person race. Nader is currently in court trying to get on the ballot in hawaii, where he drew over 5% of the vote in 2000. This is a state gore won by 19%, and a state that is very democratic. These 4 electoral votes could make things VERY interesting if bush takes hawaii (and also could make election night VERY VERY late...)

  12. He has been an anti-bush guy for a while now. I was suprised to see him endorse bush. Not that I though he would endorse kerry, but I thought for sure he would stay out of it.

I posted this, not because I like bush or even because he was endorsed by buchanan, but because buchanans statements very closely mirror my setiments on this election. Even still I intend to vote third party.

  13. Endorses Bush, but its not what you think

    http://www.amconmag.com/2004_11_08/cover.html

"in the contest between Bush and Kerry, I am compelled to endorse the president of the United States. Why? Because, while Bush and Kerry are both wrong on Iraq, Sharon, NAFTA, the WTO, open borders, affirmative action, amnesty, free trade, foreign aid, and Big Government, Bush is right on taxes, judges, sovereignty, and values. Kerry is right on nothing."

I think he hit the nail on the head with this one.

  14. 2) The kickoff out of bounds in the 4th quarter. The Dolphins return man, who was standing out of bounds, touched the kickoff while IT WAS STILL INBOUNDS!! It should have been 'Fins ball inside the 10, not at the 40. Who is deciding what calls to challenge, and why aren't they paying attention???

As I understand it, the player was out of bounds when he touched the ball, making the penalty legit.

  15. I am a little unsure of exactly what it is you think he could tell miami. I mean, our offensive attack has been pretty well...offensive. What will he say? Drew is washed up and put pressure on him and he cant do crap. The offensive line cant block, and MM is incapable of coming up with anything other than what you have seen on tape for the last 4 weeks? Come on...who cares. As far as I am concerned we could just post our playbook on BB.com.
