  1. Well, the U.S. was able to play one half of decent soccer. Freddy Adu looked great! Too bad he couldn't go the full 90. My opinion is he's absolutely ready to claim a starting role in midfield. Without him, it was a different game--no creativity at all. I saw enough in one half. The kid is good!

I honestly don't understand why Josh Wolff keeps getting minutes. The poor kid does not belong out there. Please, Bob Bradley, move on!

Dempsey, sweet Christ man! Act like you give a crap.

Typical Eddie Johnson performance. Shows flashes of skill and speed. Poor finishing. Unbelievably lazy at times. Frustrating! Did you see, at about the 25 minute mark, how he let that nice long ball go over the end line for a goal kick? Really really really poor effort. He improved his hustle after that, but he really needed to bury that header near the end of the half.

Eddie Lewis. I really thought his national team days were over. But he has showed a lot the last two games. His cross to EJ's head was perfection. EJ blew it. And his nice free kick almost found the top corner.

Beasley. They keep making the coming-back-from-injury excuse for him. But does that excuse him from constantly making bad decisions with the ball?

Michael Bradley. Poor overall game. Showed good hustle getting back on D, but looked like the stereotypical dumb American against Spain's quality. His muffed header at the end (even though it if was offside anyway) was embarrassing to watch. I think he can be a good player, but I'm starting to get those "coach's son" thoughts when I see him get every single start and never get subbed.

The back line. Same as usual. Decent marking overall, but lousy control and outlet passing. Way too many weak, panicked clearances giving the ball right back to the opponent.

In the second half, everybody looked bad, except maybe Guzan.

Xavi's goal was amazing! Spain played with lots of skill, class and patience. Could easily have been 3-0.

I pretty much agree with everything here. Adu was unbelievable IMO.

I think the mis-hit header from Lewis to Johnson says alot about the attackers for the U.S. Some quality chances, but no real finisher. I'd love to see a line-up with Altidore and Dempsey up top and Donovan at attacking mid, flanked outside by Eddie Johnson and Freddie Adu. Then there might be some different results.

Overall, this match was a much better effort. Now they move on to the current #1 in the world. I may be making the trip. Anyone else heading out to Jersey for the game Sunday night?

  2. I'll be watching at work. Should be a classic regardless of the outcome, and I read that English fans were able to get close to 50k of the 80k seats in Moscow. Add in the fact that Russians love a good hooligan brawl and this should be a ridiculous afternoon.

  3. Read this article. I don't care whether you believe every word or not, but the "points" you made are not valid.

    SI Vault

Wow. Okay. How does this article change the "points" that I made? Whether he held the knife or not, he literally plead guilty to obstruction of justice for this incident and was the only person to actually be convicted of involvement. And that article you linked to contained this...

In '04 Lewis settled civil suits with members of both victims' families for roughly $2 million.

So I fail to see how my points weren't valid.

  4. Perhaps you should do some research on Ray Lewis before you suggest he belongs anywhere NEAR the likes of OJ and Carruth.

Oh, okay. Ray Lewis was the only person that actually admitted to involvement in that double murder. He also reached a settlement to pay one of the victims families over a million dollars before it went to a civil trial. There's the research.

  5. will there be some videos released of some of the drills?

  6. I still really don't understand it. If I could have a limo take me everywhere at any time, I would never drive ever. If I was going to a sports bar to have a few beers and watch a baseball game, I would take a limo. Going out to dinner with my girl for dinner and maybe a couple of drinks- limo. Going out to the bars/clubs- definitley a limo. Millionaires getting DUIs will always confuse me.

Going out after a Super Bowl party to stab two people - limo.

  7. Pat McInally, a graduate of Harvard University, is the only football player to record a confirmed perfect score of 50.

    Lex Hilliard 24/50

    Wallace Gilberry 17/50

    Godser Cherilus 25/50

Are those scores right? I think some people cheated.... I mean Mr. Gilberry apparently improved from below average to Harvard level in between tests. He must've really focused on the wonderlic instead of those other guys wasting their time trying to get in top physical condition for the draft.

    NFL rejects Rams throwbacks

    Posted: Monday April 07, 2008 06:47AM ET

Plans to have the Rams wear "throwback" uniforms in their 2008 regular-season opener were scuttled when the NFL turned down the club's request. Multiple sources told the Post-Dispatch that the Rams wanted to wear their 1999 uniforms -- the season the team defeated Tennessee in the Super Bowl. New owner Chip Rosenbloom confirmed that those were the plans last week at the NFL owners meetings in Florida.

Odds are they would not look any more favorable to Bills wearing throwbacks permanently.

The only reason they were rejected is because teams must give a one year notice to the NFL on all jersey changes. They didn't get in their proposal on time. Doesn't mean anything for Buffalo.
