  1. I watched some games with the local Bill's Backers last year at Mony's - this year they will be at Piper's Bar & Grill at Conway and Curry Ford. I plan on being there Sunday to watch us beat the Pat's.
  2. I know we are not going to get any respect from the sports media until we win but my local newspaper continues to diss the Bills. You might remember I posted a message the day after the draft where they graded us at an "F". The clipping still sits in my desk where I hope to Ssend it back to the sports writer who was responsible for the grade. In today's edition they published a chart of NFL quarterback rankings - giving our duo of Losman and Holcomb 30th of 32. This I don't have a problem with as we have done nothing in the regular season to warrant any better - however the comment that follows is nothing short of ridiculous......."Bills may rue day they chased off Mike Mularkey"
  3. Excellent points - I really believe this will be the case. Run Willis Run !!
  4. Yes - we beat NE - with new coaching stafff and new schemes on both sides of the ball - we catch them off guard. Jauron and company make good adjustments to counter at half-time (something we have not seen fron Bills coaches in a LONG time). Willis goes for over 100 yards and allows us to control the clock down the stretch.
  5. Or if you don't want to wait - you can go here ---> http://www.reebokoutlet.com/content/promot...tails.asp?id=82 and get a Faily & Friends Discount coupon for 40% - only good through August 20th.
  6. Ooops - my bad ...corrected And BTW I work at the newspaper and I saved the clipping that was run the day after the draft that they ran that graded the Bills as the worst draft - I am praying the day comes when I can take it upstairs to The Sports Dept and stick it in the face of one Dave Curtis - who penned the Draft Day report card
  7. These tidbits from a sports page feature in this morning's Orlando Sentinel...... NFL: Best & Worst Hall of Famer Still Around - Worst MARV LEVY What Levy, the coach, accomplished during the 1990s -- getting to (and losing) four straight Super Bowls -- may never be duplicated. He's the most famous Bill not acquitted for murder. He's also 80 years old and back as GM of a franchise that sprung all kinds of leaks last season. FIRST-ROUND PICK - Worst DONTE WITNER & JOHN MCCARGO Marv Levy took Witner, a safety from Ohio State, at No. 8 overall, then traded up to take McCargo, defensive tackle from North Carolina State, at No. 26. Both may pan out well but they probably could have been had with later picks. FANS - Worst MIAMI They don't even classify as "fair-weather fans." First, it's always nice in South Florida. Second, the last time the Dolphins were home for the playoffs, they couldn't sell out the game. That's pathetic. Here is the link for the entire feature NFL: Best & Worst
  8. My favorite Doug Flutie moment was the 1998 play-off game I attended against the Dolphins at Joe Robbie. We were down 24-17 with less than 30 seconds left in the game and drove inside the 10 yard line. Now under these circumstances you would expect every fan in the stadium to be on their feet going beserk.......while half of the Dolphin fans were on their feet screaming - the other half were sitting - looking like a deer caught in the headlights and you could tell they were thinking....." Oh no - not again" It was a weird moment for sure - and as we all know - we turned the ball over and game over.
  9. Perry Fewell's accomplishments as a Defensive Back's Coach Enters his first year as the Bills defensive coordinator after spending the 2005 season as the Chicago Bears defensive backs coach…in 2005, Fewell coached the Bears defensive backs to an impressive year, guiding safety Mike Brown and cornerback Nathan Vasher to the Pro Bowl…a vital part of the Chicago defensive staff, Fewell helped the Bears rank second in the NFC in total defense and third in passing defense in ‘05…under Fewell’s tutelage, the Bears finished first in the NFC with 24 interceptions in ‘05…prior to his time in Chicago, Fewell spent two seasons coaching the secondary for the St. Louis Rams after serving five seasons in the same position for the Jacksonville Jaguars (1998-2002)…has coached four Pro Bowlers during his NFL tenure: safety Carnell Lake with Jacksonville in 1999, safety Aeneas Williams with St. Louis in 2003, safety Mike Brown and cornerback Nathan Vasher in Chicago in 2005…in his first season in St. Louis, helped the Rams tie for fourth in the NFL with 24 interceptions…
  10. Made the hair stand up on the back of my neck................. "I love what I do, and I can't wait for the day I can walk out of that tunnel at Ralph Wilson Stadium and hear the fans chant "TKO.' It's going to be an emotional moment, man. I've got so much built up inside me that when I get on the field that team better get ready because somebody is going to get dropped."
  11. Maybe - just maybe it is a good thing that we have the Pats and Fins the 1st two weeks with completely new offensive and defensive schemes - we catch them off-guard since they won't be able to anticipate what we run at them...........
  12. "It's just like dating a stripper. Everything is great for 2-4 weeks, but then her methamphetamine dealing boyfriend shows up and puts a bullet through your head"

  14. No way Marv takes a "No character" guy like Vick - No way ! All future considerations for staff - players - janitors will include men/women of character - as it should.
  15. Good post - I don't understand why all the naysayers don't think that Marv's attributes as our Head Coach (though he had his shortcomings as well) would not serve him well as our GM? Smart - Loyal - knows the game and knows how a team should be managed - can relate to players and coaches - and has a great relationship - as well as the trust of the Owner. I agree there is a question as to how all of these elements will meld together in the decisiion making process that will ultimately determine the success or failure of the outcome on any given Sunday - but I think we may have a great GM at the right place - right time.
  16. I would think that if Marv is named as the new GM - he will have a lot to say if MM stays or goes - and that can't be done until Marv is signed and sealed...........
  17. I have decided I am in the "Start JP now" camp - are we so desperate to make the play-offs that we are willing to sacrafice the long term gains of developing our future star QB? - for what ? to suffer another huge disappointment when we get crushed in the first round. Whatever the case - we will most certainly be disappointed when this season over - either by losses in the last eight games or a play-off loss/embarassment.....but if JP starts and ends up making big plays after getting another 3-4 starts under his belt - there will be optimism for next year. He doesn't need another off-season of tutoring by Sam and studying the playbook - he needs NFL experience.
  18. Agreed - nothing will give JP more confidence than a successful big play where he puts the ball squarely in the receivers hands. For years I have prayed for more plays where our QB hits a receiver in stride for a game breaking play of 50 -60 yards ala Kelly to Reed...............GO BILLS !!
  19. Since you flamed me for thinking this guy was for real - here is MSNBC's story about him........ http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9164073/
  20. This guy is apparently in a building downtown in NO with a generator - diesel fuel and internet access.....so he is posting live reports throughout the day. This is the most compelling thing I read there: In case anyone in national security is reading this, get the word to President Bush that we need the military in here NOW. The Active Duty Armed Forces. Mr. President, we are losing this city. I don't care what you're hearing on the news. The city is being lost. It is the law of the jungle down here. The command and control structure here is barely functioning. I'm not sure it's anyone's fault -- I'm not sure it could be any other way at this point. We need the kind of logistical support and infrastructure only the Active Duty military can provide. The hospitals are in dire straights. The police barely have any capabilities at this point. The National Guard is doing their best, but the situation is not being contained. I'm here to help in anyway I can, but my capabilities are limited and dropping. Please get the military here to maintain order before this city is lost. Here is the link: http://www.livejournal.com/users/interdictor/
