This was copied from a UT fan website in which the author's friend is an NFC scout.
________________________________________________________________________________
I caught up with a long-time NFL scouting friend of mine on Thursday and asked him for his thoughts on the Texas draft prospects as his team prepares to spend the next week finalizing their draft board.
For those wondering, this scout works for an NFC squad that has played in the Super Bowl this decade.
Limas Sweed - “He’s done a much better job in preparing himself for the draft than any receiver that I’ve seen. Even with his injury, he’s done everything that teams have asked him to do. He’s also one of the best interviews we’ve seen among the players that will go in the first round. He’s presented himself as a young man that is going to be a true professional. We actually feel as good about him being a very good pro as just about anyone (Texas) has put out in the last couple of years, and that’s not to take anything away from those players. I’m very impressed with Limas.”

I thought we were boycotting anything that comes out of the University of Texas???? I would love that round 1 and 2.
Like Derrick Dockery?

Jerod Mayo...Tennessee Volunteers LB Jerod Mayo told Sirius NFL Radio that he had a good visit with the Buffalo Bills this past week, in which he met the entire staff of coaches...Mayo also has visits scheduled in the near future with the Detroit Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers.

James Hardy...Indiana WR James Hardy told Sirius NFL Radio that the St. Louis Rams, Cincinnati Bengals and the Buffalo Bills have shown the most interest in him, of all the teams in the pre-draft scouting process.

» WR Limas Sweed (6-4 ¼, 210): Ran the 40 in 4.50 and 4.51, had a 37 ½-inch vertical jump, 10-foot, 8-inch long jump, 4.33 short shuttle, 7.14 cone drill, ran position drills and looked good catching the ball.
He had a 4.46 at the combine in the 40.

Malcom Kelly, in previous events, had been clocked at around a 4.45-4.50. Sweed has averaged a 4.50 as well (he ran a 4.46 at the combine).
Thanks to BlueFire for setting the Limas Sweed information straight.
As much as I love the 'Horns and Sweed, I just don't see either one of these receivers deserving of #11 overall.
A trade down needs to happen!

Dude says: "Supposedly Darwin Walker and a late 2nd day pick, or conditional 08 pick. It hasnt been confirmed yet though."

Man, Kenny Irons has us written all over him...in the 2nd!
I just think that is our man.

Having watched the chiefs quite a bit Kawika Mitchell is awful and brings you nothing more then a little bit of size. 6'1 253 He doesn't have the speed to play mlb in cover 2. His coverage ability is pretty bad. He can't blitz, and he doesn't force fumbles. I also feel since he's relatively young he'll end up getting paid more then fletcher did by the skins, and for a mlb he really isn't a good tackler. The contract he'll be looking for will probably be somewhere around 30-35 mil with 10-12 in guranteed money, and his production just doesn't warrant that kind of cash.
scratch that idea!

If we could sign both of these guys I think this would be both the most successful FA in years for us and the best positon we have been in for a draft in long time.
I really like both of these guys alot and it would nice to be able to go into the draft with only the CB position being a real need and have the option to grab a solid WR, LB, TE or even G if someone drops out of the first round and into the second to our pick.
I'm really happy with the O-line signings obviously but these two signings would really tie a nice bow around it.
Even if Langston Walker has to move inside to RG I think the coaches believe Pennington can hold his own at RT.
I have been thinking about Mitchell as well. I would love to get both of those guys as you mentioned and see what happens.
No brainer at that point for CB or RB.

If all three were there, who should we take:
1. Amobi Okoye-DT
1a. Patrick Willis-ILB

Raiders | Raiders might lose Jordan
Thu, 1 Mar 2007 00:24:55 -0800
Steve Corkran, of the Contra Costa Times, reporting for the Sporting News, reports it's still possible the Oakland Raiders won't pay starting RB LaMont Jordan the roster bonus he is due in the coming weeks.

This guy is a 6'0" speed demon that is projected in the bottom of the second to third round area.

Would love to add Steinbach and draft Blalock from Longhorns in the first. That would be a solid line and our offense would be very good!
Re-sign Nate and let London, Kelsay and other reserves walk.
Next year we will have to get JP and Lee and Willis re-signed!

Any word via local radio coverage?

That is the downside to the move. Will he be good enough to keep the job there or will we be locked into another high LT salary for a RT. That's why his agent refuses to sign the extension on the table from the Bills as they are gambling that is what the Bills are thinking of doing.

Here is who I like that is still out there:
Barry Cofield--DT
Montaivious Stanley--DT
Mark Anderson--DE
Gabe Watson--DT
I think we target the DE Anderson in the 4th and hope one of those DT's is still there at the top of the 5th.

Scenario #1:
a.) Stay at #8 and draft our targeted pick. (Ngata, Bunkley, Davis or Huff)
b.) Acquire the second of Denver's two first round picks, #24 for our 2nd, our 3rd from Tenn. and our 6th if the WELLS acquisition doesn't go through. The value level calls for our 6th but if we do acquire Wells, our 7th would have to be substituted. This value equals out at 740 points.
c.)Therefore, we would have the chance to move back into the lower 1st round and select NICK MANGOLD-C with that pick. This would leave us with two 1st's, one 3rd, 4th and a 5th for sure, depending on the WELLS deal.
Scenario #2:
a.) Move up to #4 in a trade with the Jets to acquire D'Brickashaw Ferguson-LT.
b.) This would require giving up our 2nd round pick, our 1st round pick and our 7th round pick this year and we would be receiving their 1st round pick and their 4th round pick. Total value points is at 1892.
c.) This would leave us with a 1st rounder, two 3rd rounders, two 4th rounders, a 5th rounder and possibly a 6th in the event the WELLS deal didn't go through.
d.) This would allow us to draft D'BRICKASHAW FERGUSON and add more depth with the remaining picks.
Thoughts?

yeah, i was thinking about that as well. seems as if the cowboys got a mid second that year for one of their departures and that pick turned out to be larry allen, well before we could pick. i think we chose sam rogers or lonnie johnson at the close of the second round. that was a total goat-f*ck!

This guy reminds of the Lee Evans pick a few years ago. Work ethic, character, coming off of an injury during his junior year(knee) instead of his senior year and quality talent. I think he is our guy!
