I think Trent really struggled with the reads-as he has been doing all season.
That being said, what I saw was a lazy Owens who barely even made it into huddles, left huddles early and jogged out many of his routes. He made so little effort to run actual routes (as previously noted in this thread) it was pathetic.
Those two deep balls are both on Owens. He completely misjudged the first, saw the defender and let up...the second he never looked up and simply ran down field. He had a chance to get that last pass too but should have outstretched his arms to stay in bounds.
Both deep passes to Owens were terrible....

there was no time yesterday to setup the long plays.
Edwards was getting a 2-one-thousand count and if he didnt get rid of the ball, had guys all over him.
long-ball plays take time to setup.
when you are dropping back going "1-one-thousand, 2-one-thousand, BALL" you cant get the mid to long plays setup. you just cant. its that simple.
Last time I checked, we run a no huddle offense....Trent has the ability to check into whatever play he feels would work best....if he feels he cant get the ball down field...then check out of long passes....
have TO/Evans run shorter routes...

Did he say
"we banged each other"

You might want to watch the game again. I was at the game and he was playing FS the entire game.
You might want to learn football.....
cuz he was in the nickel for almost every play in the 4th....
even on the TD-INT.....Whitner was the nickel....Byrd had cover 2 responsibility on the play
-
you do realize Whitner played the nickel a good amount today
-
Yeah, I'm very curious also.
I'm just not getting my hopes up that we're going to see a significantly better version.
It would be sweet though to line them both up and see Jackson running wide for the pitch and Lynch hitting the line straight up and the defense never sure which one is going to get the ball. We might get to see a lot of frozen 'backers.
I've been saying they should do this for over a year now.....hopefully now....this will
so many mismatches you can create with both of them in the backfield
-
Trent's deep ball to Owens(both of them), were perfect throws.....
we need to see more of that....
the two to Evans(including the TD) were god awful....
we need to see less of that
-
Yes, his explosive burst and breakaway speed should really come in handy when he gets to play again.
oh yea i forgot Lynch has no speed/burst
carry on
-
bottom line when Lynch gets back we need to use both of them together....split carries early and whoever has the hot hand..you stick with...
I love what Jackson has done so far(minus the FUMBLE).....
But I have a feeling that Lynch will be just as good if not better given his chance in a couple weeks...
-
Of course Lynch has never seen the safeties playing 10+ yards off the LOS since he has been here...
-
gotta control the T.O.P next week....
-
Edwards had a pocket to step up into for the majority of the game....the middle of the Oline was dominate
-
I said it when we signed Owens....
Evans/Owens = no more 8 in the box....
if we can keep the penalties and turnovers down,
gonna be a big year for this offense....
-
they had another on that same drive....
Kevin Faulk was easily a yard or so short of the 1st down on his catch...which would have made it 4th and 1....
a bad spot gave him an extra yard and a 1st down

What is with everyone and Donte Whitner? He's a solid player to have on your team. Who cares if he was taken 8th overall, at this point it doesn't matter. He makes alot of good plays, at least 5-6 big tackles/plays not 1 like the OP said. Not every Safety taken early is going to be an Ed Reed.
Seriously, he is not going to be replaced or cut any time soon. We have more pressing needs, like LB and DT
I'll say this over and over.....
For a safety to make plays....he needs one thing to happen...and thats to be thrown at....
the two times Brady went at Whitner....
one time, he threw it out the back the endzone....
the 2nd time....he went deep down the sideline to Galloway...guess were that ended up ?? about 10 feet out of bounds....
after a pretty solid game from Whitner...he still gets sh-- on here....
Its quite amazing...
-
we trade Lynch....only to find out that Jackson wears down midway thru the season....
then were stuck with Omon??
Oh man....
i dont think so
-
our center did a pretty good job too
-
if you play your CB's 8 yards off the LOS....??
makes it pretty easy for a QB....pretty much means every wideout is a HOT reciever....just cut off your route and beat us for 5-6-7 yards everytime....thats what NE did all night....
and I dont understand how a small adjustment like this isnt made at any point during the game
-
How could you watch last nights game and say Whitner didnt do anything?? Are you blind......
Whitner easily made 4-5 open field tackles, that if he doesnt make them, they go for 20+ yard gains instead of 5 or less....
-
Revis = top five

Obama "peripherals, use your peripherals"
SARKOZY "forget peripherals, homey"

Guess Hurley will die then.....
hes probably the only character that would make me sad if he got offed....

Last weeks game was ugly...it seemed like there was a flag on every other play for both sides....
