Beane wasn't willing to give 30 million guaranteed to a 31 year old WR. He backed out after contract demands came in. What is so hard to grasp about this? It's just agent and client spin to save face.
Beane was clearly upset and mad during that press conference last year. That wasn't fake it was real. I will believe that over a nut case of WR and his agent any day.
Please just let this die. -
Go watch the last game of the season. Josh through alot of short underneath stuff and short passes to the outside. He had like a 70 percent completion percentage that game or something. Josh was tested and passed.

LOL at anyone who thinks Zay will be gone. He improved dramatically this year especially after the QB carousal stopped and it was just Josh.

Its pretty obvious that the Bills backed out after the contract demands from AB were disclosed. You have a guy that says he doesn't need t play because he is rich who then turns around and wants 30+ Million guaranteed money.
I dont' blame him one bit. -

The Bills will fill positions of need via FA and resign their own. WE won't be getting any major FA. Maybe this Williams guy.

People who don't understand how good Dareus was playing just need to go see the work Cover 1 did on him.........he wasn't the All Pro/pass rusher version of Dareus anymore but he was stacking double teams and shedding and making impressive plays. The decision to trade him was not performance based and it blew up in their face and left them desperate for help in the offseason.
The 2018 Bills were just "meh" against the run.
Edmunds was a huge factor there because he struggled mightily with the kind of basic plays that Preston Brown made aplenty(which is why Preston lead the NFL in tackles in this defense in 2017).
But Star suffered a massive drop in production himself.........he couldn't get off a block to save his life after an otherwise pretty steady/unspectacular career in the same D in Carolina where he made more than twice as many plays. 17 tackles is a mind blowingly low number for a starting 4/3 DT and a precipitous drop from his past years. It's possible that he's pretty much done at this point. I mean........if he weren't uncuttable with the huge dead money figure......with that $11.5M cap figure this year they'd definitely have to consider it. As Gunner said......Harrison Phillips was better last year and nobody thinks Phillips was any world beater.
It was a terrible FA class.

Trading for Mack will hurt Chicago in the long run. in a few years they will need to pay Trubisky. You cannot give them both 100M dollar deals. At that point Mack is out the door and you lost two first round picks. he litterly has to give you a championship or it's not worth it.
no defensive player is worth that kind of money. Ask the Patriots. -
only in the NFL can you not get invited to the combine but resign to another team.

Why do people care? Beane said last year after the signing that he is a 1st,2nd down player with sometime on 3rd down to eat up space for others. in the context of what he is asked to do he didn't fall on his face.
it was a good signing. The Bills were 2nd on defense. Get over it.-

He was done before he joined the Bills. I was actually excited to have him as coach and then quickly turned sour. His defense is ancient.

What a strange hire? Can he handle the salary cap? The day to day stuff?
WE had a GM who didn't manage the salary cap and from the presser earlier this week it was messed up according to Beane. -
7 targets yesterday 1 catch. I dont' remember one pass from yesterday where i was like oh that was a terrible throw from josh. He had a lot of drops yesterday. Coach didn't seem happy about it in the presser.

You realize that the coach doesn't report to the GM right? They both individually report to the owner. The only person who can fire McD is Pegula.
Isn't gonna happen. Get an Oline, and WR and we are good to go.
