Whoever they draft or Nate Peterman.

Not who you think they will pick, but who you WANT them to pick. Preferably someone reasonable. I mean we could all say "Aaron Rodgers" or "Tom Brady", but that wouldn't be much of a thread. I'll start.
My top choice (and its not even close) for Bills 2018 starting quarterback: Baker Mayfield.
I feel that Mayfield has every single thing you look for in a QB, both physically and in terms of intangibles, EXCEPT for his height. If he were 2-3 inches taller, he'd be the no-question number one pick. In a few years, we'll all look back and wonder how so many people failed to see that Mayfield was going to be an elite player for a long time.
Physically, he can make every throw needed in the NFL, can improvise outside the pocket and make plays that aren't even really there to be made, and can rally his team from deficits. He has accuracy, arm strength, decision making, and escapability. I know everyone's already heard the tired old Russell Wilson comparison, but I believe it's accurate in this case. I also believe Daboll would craft an offensive scheme around him that would really play to his strengths.
What makes me really, really want the Bills to draft him, though, are his intangibles. Off the charts. Two time walk-on, the biggest chip on his shoulder you've ever seen, rallies guys around him, makes everyone around him better, hates to lose, loves to win. LOVES football. Hard worker. I don't buy into him being any kind of trouble-maker off the field. I think he's got an attitude, sure, but it's the type of attitude you WANT the leader of your team to have.
Bottom line: The Buffalo Bills have not had a real identity since the K-Gun days. It's time to change that. Baker Mayfield and the city of Buffalo are a PERFECT match. He's the consummate underdog, earned-everything-he's-ever-gotten guy. We all know at least one person who still owns a box of Flutie Flakes. This city LOVES underdogs. He would give this Bills team a swagger and offensive identity that it's sorely lacking, and would give Bills fans one of the most -- if not THE most -- popular player in Bills history. You may think I'm exaggerating, but go watch him talk about playing Texas. Now picture him saying those things, but about the Pats* instead.
Baker's the guy. I'd be fine with Darnold or Rosen or whomever, but I strongly believe Mayfield will be the best of the bunch, and will give the team and its fans a shot in the arm that is sorely needed.
Also there is a big difference between hating to lose and being a Jackass. He fits into the jackass category. Mayfield was arrested in the early morning of Feb. 25 in Fayetteville, and was charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct, fleeing and resisting arrest.
I can see him getting into it with Buffalo Police on chippewa.- 1

Don't you all realize that McD had a template of what kind of player he wants in terms of character. Marcus Peters doesn't fit that mold.

Good felt like Zay having his college coach wasn't going to expand his play or knowledge.
-
I don't think it would happen but I am game if it did. Jimmy G is the bomb.

Why is anyone surprised?

Trade one of the firsts for him.

Trade one of our firsts for him.

He was very professional about it. If it were me a personal visit would have happened.

No more bandaids. Find your guy, draft your guy, and don't miss.

Jesus Christ, just hire me. I'll be glad to tell them when to challenge a call, when to go for it on 4th down, when to call time out, and when to break their tendencies.
It's much more than that. YOu want to see how many times a QB throws a certain route, what the defenses were for those routes, etc...
Can you do all that?

Hopefully he isn't paralyzed or anything of that nature.

Doomed to fail.

I find it amazing that Bills fan's believe this is the reason for the 17 year old drought.
-
No. Case is a nice story but he will only get you so far.

Would take Bortles any day of the week.

Thanks for the clarification!!!

Marcel got away with not putting the effort in based upon his talent level. To many coaches prior to McD did that, Marrone included. He was treated like every other player and is angry about it.
Not sure why so many people care.

Cousins will break the bank and make 25+ a year. Would much rather draft someone and groom him than do that.

This guy again? Reading the tea leaves?
As other people said the only thing that would give you any kind of credit is if MIke Tice becomes the Oline Coach.

Not in love with switching offenses so much. Hopefully this will be like losing Pettine for Swartz.
-
beef up both lines and get a QB. Good place to start.
-
LOl ok where do people come up with this stuff.
-
If it worked everyone would be talking about how great of a call it was. If the Bills had run and didn't get in everyone would have been talking about how we should have thrown.
you win some you lose some. -

Internet tough guy.
So you are telling me that a 40 year old man who has had the same coach for 18 years sudden gets upset for not having praise? I seriously doubt BB has changed in the last 18 years.
Jimmy G knew he would get paid on the free market. would be the highest paid QB in the league. Why would he accept anything less and sit the bench until Brady finally retires. Brady is a contendor for MVP you don't sit him down for Jimmy G. You can either get a 3rd by letting him walk in Free Agency or get a 2nd before deadline.
I can see Brady not wanting to mentor anyone. Brett Farve was the same way. It's not his job.
The whole trainer bit. I can see BB getting upset if players won't listen to the in house guys. I would. Not even sure why Brady's trainer was given so much access anyway. Jimmy G being shutout sounds like it was a scheduling issue more than anything else. Its not like he didn't go there eventually so it doesn't sound like he was that upset.
ESPN is garbage anyway.
Rapaport: Bills won’t cut Tyrod, fine with paying 6 mill bonus

Lamar reminds me of RG3. All those big running plays won't happen in the NFL. You have to throw the football to be successful something Tyrod cannot do. Just go get a pocket passer enough of the madness.
