I dropped this in the big thread. But will re-post. I have had “one day more” from les Mis running through my head all morning.

one day more. Another day, another destiny. This never-ending road to Calvary! ...

One day to a new beginning
Raise the flag of freedom high
Every man will be a king
There's a new world for the winning
There's a new world to be won...

    Tomorrow we'll discover
What our God in Heaven has in store
One more dawn. One more day. One day more.

Starting Josh Allen as Jean Valjean!

At the Rockpile, my friend Joe and a buddy brought a 1/4 keg and placed it on an empty seat. A neighbor complained that the keg was taking up a seat. Joe, of course, reached into his pocket and produced a ticket for the keg seat.

A group of 10 of us would go to games in the late 70s, early 80s with a 5 gallon igloo cooler of vodka and iced tea. We'd all pitch in $2 and buy the cooler a ticket and tape it to it. People would get pissed but not a thing they could do with Mr. Igloo having a ticket

My father always thought that Bills team with Sestak and Dunaway up front and Cookie Gilchrist would have given the Pack a run for their money.

Had the NFL accepted the AFL's challenge in 1963 like Commissioner Joe Foss asked. The Bills would have played in what should have been Super Bowl 1 against the Browns in 64 and the Packers in Super Bowl 2 in 65.

Sadly NFL commissioner  Pete Rozelle said no and did not agree until the merger was agreed upon.

  4. I was 8 also and went to my first game two weeks before when the Bills clinched the AFL east and tore down the goal post. We were so sure the Bills were going to the 1st Super Bowl my dad bought our first color TV to watch it on.

My uncle could get a very snowy picture from Erie Pennsylvania where it wasn't blacked out and watched the Bills and my dream die to the Chiefs, January 1st 1967.

    GO BILLS REVENGE!

Lived through that.  Cookie was a better runner between the tackles, [and on bad fields - The Derrick Henry of his day] but Brown was also a deadly weapon in the passing game.  Bills probably would have been in the first Superbowl.  Saban traded Cookie to Denver, because he couldn't control Cookie, then did one of his multiple quits in anger.  Joel Collier was an all-world DC, but not a head coach.  We also stupidly let Lamonica go to Oakland and kept Kemp with eroding skills. the 1966 defense was rock solid and basically the same defense as the two AFL championship teams. Interestingly Lamonica was from Clovis California, also in the central valley of california, an hour from firebaugh, and was a big strong quarterback with great arm talent.

Yeah and the Bills got Billy "The Piano Man" Joe for Cookie

Now there's  a Bill you don't  hear much about.

  6. That the Bills should have been in the first two Super Bowls?

In 1963 AFL commissioner Joe Foss sent a letter challenging the NFL to a championship game starting in 1964. Had the league started the Super Bowl that year the Bills would have played the Cleveland Browns.

    Cookie Gilchrist vs Jim Brown.

In 1965 we would have played the Packers. The Bills defense of those years would have given the NFL a tough game. We may be chasing the Lou Saben trophy had Pete Rozelle not chickened out.

They'll be renting a snow-making machine this week and shooting it on their field during practice.

Channel 4 report for Saturday night.

Lake effect snow is possible starting Saturday afternoon. At this point, it looks like areas south of Buffalo are most likely to see the brunt of any snow. While it's not clear yet whether Bills Stadium will get hit with a band, the forecast for the team's second home playoff game is definitely more interesting than the forecast for the first one.

Football fever aside, significant accumulating lake effect snow is becoming increasingly likely for the Southern Tier Saturday night into Sunday. Plan on tough travel during the weekend if the right factors line up.

I doubt he's seen Buffalo snow

    Go home @jkx2 you’re drunk.

this was designed. Rivers doesn’t get sacked. The bills brought 4 and dropped into coverage vs the best OL in the league against a HOF QB who gets the ball out quick.

this is not the game to check the DL for the stat column.

Hey Pickel deer( think about it. It will come to you) No defense designs not sacking the quarterback. Your name fits your football knowledge.

This may sound like sour grapes— But not calling any holds really hurt our pass rush. They were getting mugged, including some pretty blatant holds when we blitzed.

maybe our guys were holding too. But still.  There wasn’t a single offensive hold called that entire game on either team. (Note: one hold on a kickoff— that’s it, as I recall).

I said the same thing to my wife, but to not get one was aggravating.

I think we were a more dominant, complete team, and probably the best in the entire league at the end of the 1990 season, going into SB XXV against the Giants.

This time period right now feels close for me though!

We are on a huge win streak, we seem really relaxed in a very healthy, positive way, and we have a QB who can win it all and win tough games against teams with great QBs themselves.

    Enjoy it!

Yeah it would be hard for any team to dole out the beating the Bills gave the Raiders in the 1990 championship game. I don't think Howie Long has recovered yet.

  11. You do things because it's the right thing to do, not accolades. Just smile knowing we were all part of starting things like this with Andy Dalton's charity and then honoring Josh's grandmother and helping hundreds of children.

  12. One interesting fact for those who were around was our country was in a huge crisis in 1990 also. It was the start of the Gulf war. I remember that they interrupted the AFC championship game to go live in Baghdad with bombs going off. The usual 2 weeks super bowl break was only a week. Everybody was on high alert with bomb checks instead of covid test. It was a tense time but the country really pulled together and became one the second Whittney Houston sang the National Anthem.  We were all American's. It would have been a perfect day except for a difference of 6 feet.

Never spend a round 1 pick on a running back in a passing league.

    Did you watch the game?

Quote: "The game saw Harris break UA’s record for both career rushing yards and career rushing touchdowns, but his performance as a pass-catcher is what caught more eyes — although it should not have been a surprise after he set the school record for single-season receiving touchdowns by a running back last season."
