  1. A maverick would not pick a VP based on pure political expediency. A strong argument can be made that McCain's pick is the among the most politically pandering VP pick, ever.

His biggest decision to date was to pick someone who could/should be president and for the life of me it's hard to imagine this is the best choice, or even in the top 10. Hell, if he wanted a woman, what about Kay Bailey Hutcheson?

The most disturbing fact is that McCain met her once in February 2008. Once. How can you make the most important decision to date after meeting someone one time? Does he really know Palin? Doubtful. That alone should send shivers down even the most ardent McCain backer.

As the Guiness commercial states.. I think McCains pick for all the reasons stated is "Brilliant":wacko:

  2. She was also for the bridge to nowhere, something that hasnt been mentioned here yet.

Umm she actually stopped it and returned the funds..

She has been a reformer and has bucked the leadership in her state to side with the people... I luv it that she returned state surplus to the people

  3. I don't want to use the word hate but what Dolphin player got under your skin the most? For me it was a close race between Brian Cox and Louis Oliver. I think for me it would have to be Oliver. I'll never forget when they beat us and Oliver was so elated and was saying how he was going to ride that Buffalo or some stupid remark like that. It bother me alot to hear that idiot mock us so gleefully.

I always hated that Ef"fin" mamal that used to swim in that pool at the orange bowl :censored:

  4. Where's the comparison to Tupelo and Oxford Mississippi!

Funny how most of the comparisons are with places so flat that you can put a beach ball down and watch it roll out of site with the wind or in places so small relatively speaking that of course there's not much going on there.

Let's ask the ex-Buffalo people that moved to Boston, New York, Cleveland, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Washington DC, Charlotte, Atlanta, San Antonio, Las Vegas, ...

I wonder what they'd say.  We had a Seattle guy chime in and it was biasedly dismissed.  Instead this guy runs to the places around the country with the least going on and paints his picture.

Face it, without the Bills and Sabres, Buffalo ain't exactly NYC.

I lived in a majority of the places you mentioned and whi;le I enjoyed Boston, New York and DC.. Chicago came close probably cause I went to school with the local ABC sportscaster's bro (MARK GIANGRECO) and he always highlighted the Buffalo teams... NONE of them hod a candle to what makes Buffalo Special... its the combination of all things... People, Places, Sports, Bars, Restruants, etc... If I could I would move back in a heartbeat....

  5. I haven't lived in Buffalo since 1982... I have lived in Va Beach, Boston, NY, Bethlehem, D.C. Detroit, Chicago, Albany and Houston since then.... All the while I tried unsuccessfully to get transferred back to Buffalo... Once I offered to take a big demotion to get back.... thats when they sent me to Albany... now my company no longer has an office there and its sad...

one of my kids shares his love of Buffalo and memories of our trips home to see parents and friends.. He loved it so much, he now attends UB... I got him season tickets (Unfortunately he is seing the same Bills I say at his age... really bad!) Doesn't matter much to him.. win or lose it's OUR TEAM!!... He wrote home and told his mother he now understands why his dad loves this city and he plans to stay there if he can after school....

The tradition continues maybe our kids can make things better and restore Buffalo to its old glory!!..

I don't know why... I have this addiction to Buffalo... I lived in many areas and they are all nice in thier own way.... but nothing compares to the people and quality of life in Buffalo... It may sound sad to some... but the best things in my life all have a Buffalo tie.... I proposed to my wife in Buffalo, concieved my first two kids in Buffalo... funny we didn't live there at the time (did I mention its a great place to vacation)... Even funnier is they both decided to go to college.... there....

Maybe its time for Buffalo to talk proud again! I think all good things should be repeated on no more than 20 year cycles... LOL while were at it Bring Back Jimmy!!!

I have now rambled on too long.... LETS GO BUFFALO!!!

  6. Yeah great, Mariucci.  Would have to rebuild the entire offense, i.e., add a tall receiver for the X spot, change to smaller, quicker offensive linemen, add a pass-catching fullback, smaller tight ends, and make JP learn a new playbook and style of reading defenses.

Oh, and the offense would feature 8 yard passes on 3rd and 11.

    Great idea.

    536461[/snapback]

    Umm..

    1) We already have to rebuild the o-line

    2) We will be looking for a new starting WR

    3) We already have RB's & FB who can catch

    4) our TE's are smallish

    5) JP will be fine

    6) better than the current 5 yard passes on 3rd & 11.

    :D

  7. So our pop-gun offense is going to explode on one of the best defenses in the NFL???? I can tell you now, that isn't going to happen. The Bills will be lucky to get past the Jets. The Jets may not be able to run, but they do have a good offensive line that will allow Testaverde to pick us apart through the air. I see the Jets doing a lot of screen passes to the backs and quick slants to the wide receivers. The Bills are going to have to play a lot better than they did last week because the Jets won't be giving us anything. The only way we win is if we play smart, rush the ball well and often (45 times) and stop the Jets on third down. Willis McGahee is the main key to getting a "w". If he has a big day we win, if he doesn't we lose.

And how do you like your crow served... raw or fried? :D

  8. My girl and myself are driving to Boston for the Fourth of July weekend. We're staying pretty much right in downtown. I was there once before as a kid so I don't remember much about it. Anyone from Boston or familiar with it that can point out a few good things to do...

    We're already doing these...

    1. Red Sox Game

    2. The Freedom Trial

    3. Duck Tour

    4. New England Aquarium

    5. Spitting on Tom Brady's house.

Wear a Bills Hat and Shirt... Go to Quincy Market.... Yell Go Bills!! and PATSY"S suck!:doh:

  9. Actually, they are both really, really cute.  Both girls.  I keep telling my GF that whoever is hiring all of the teachers in the HR dept at their school is a perv.  I've never seen that many good looking 20 something school teachers in my life.

I think we are going to need some photographic evidence to review your opinion. Please provide ASAP.:doh:

  10. That's what  got me excited.  He's the equivalent of Peter Gammons in baseball to me.  They both have integrity and really care that their names are respected.

So when King starts talking up Willis, Gandy and J.P I feel a lot better.  Simply stated, those three are the biggest question marks on our team.

    1. Can Willis stay healthy?

    2. Can J.P be a leader in his first year as the starter.

    3. Can Mike Gandy keep J.P off the turf long enough to make good decisions.

If Dr. Z gives me a thumbs up on two of them, that's a good feeling.  Supporting all three makes September only feel that much farther away.  God I want playoffs this year.

Playoffs Helll! Iwant to win the Superbowl!!!

  11. I drive a 2004 Subaru Forester

It is a question of who was right and wrong and what suggestions could be made from different people out there to help me avoid any confrontations like that in the future

    Thanks
