  1. Don't bother rooting for your favorite team unless you have it on very good authority that they are the NFL elite's favorite team.

NFL, today you join the ranks of the WWE. Entertaining, but not real.

I disagree! Paul Allen has more money than GOD! If anyone could WWE it he could. The reason Seattle never did anything before is that they used to play Denver, Kansas City & Oakland (when they were good), Now they get Arizona, St. Louis & San Francisco and before they break a sweat they're 6-0!

  2. So all things considered, especially the all money spent on these spots, who is really going to purchase any of the products?

Commercials remain commercials and if you're at a party, watching the game, talking to your friends and generally enjoying yourself, you're going to use the commercial time to take care of business ala take a leak, so what's the point?

  3. That would be Erie, PA. and I second your sentiment

Then again, some will maintain that we must support the AFC

Support the AFC? The STEELERS are old NFC. The SEAHAWKS expanded into the NFC, moved to the AFC, for many years, and are now back in the NFC.

So the NFL has things so screwed up that you might say that the NFC is playing the NFC today!

  4. If the NFL were to get a decent Stadium in the LA area, they wouldn't have much trouble selling seats.

Just remember, that as of 2000,  that for every man, woman, and child in the combined Buffalo-Rochester-Niagara Fallas-Dunkirk metro areas, there are SIX people in the Los Angeles-San Bernardino metro area - with another 1.5 million people left over.  Los Angeles can totally support a team, and indeed, someday it will.  I just hope that it is the Raiders.

C'mon CANADA! We need a bunch of you guys to emigrate South, legality is NOT important. We need to get our numbers up to catch those "6" people equivalents in LA.

Way to go NFL! The "LA market" can't; speak read or understand english, does not

have enough discretionary income to go to a game on a regular basis, and if they get there don't give a rat's as* about football.

We already lost the BRAVES/CLIPPERS and they are a huge success in the BIG market!

  5. Sorry, I couldn't get over the inaccuracy of the 1st statement about the 40th ANNIVERSARY of the SB.  Was there a SB one year b4 SB I that I missed?

I realize that Roman numerals aren't well suited for arithmatic functions, but best I can figure XL - I = XXXIX.

That's why nobody uses those freakin Roman Numerals anymore! Too confusing for all the children left behind. Now if we could just kick the metric system out we'd be just fine!

  6. I'm leaving tomorrow and will be there until next Friday. Staying downtown near the convention center at the Hilton Garden Inn.

Looks like I'm stuck watching the Super Bowl alone so I'd like to find someplace rowdy with good wings and beer (and even some good looking men)

Any recommendations? It will need to be close to downtown because I'm not renting a car.

    Thanks.

Rent a car! You can't travel that far and be so close to two WEGMANS without stocking up!

  7. That's probably easier said than done! I'll rely on the fans who still live in WNY to identify the possible high rollers.

Has anybody approached the Seneca's? They could turn the fieldhouse into a mini-casino and COMP the game tickets to their loyal players, enclose the RALPH with no windows and no clocks-except the Game Clock-so they could sell drinks after half time, and even offer a free tank of gas for the long drive home.

Don't forget TOYOTA. Didn't they buy up some remaining tickets last season so a game could be televised? They already have a truck called TACOMA, a big seller with the Seahawks fans! Whu not a new SUV called the ORCHARD PARK, or remarket the AVALON as the DELAWARE AVE.?
