  1. Well call me stupid but I thought the Buffalo gig was Haslett's dream job? So you mean to tell me that His Boy Sherman (minus dog Peabody) is reporting that someone won't take a job that hasn't been offered to him yet, despite not so private pinings about how he's wanted this job all along? Makes no sense. And I think I'm dizzy from my own run-on sentence. Bottom line, no way Haslett signs with anyone until he at least interviews for the Buffalo job. Unless they flat-out tell him they're not interested in Haslett. I mean the Rams, Lions and Raiders jobs are still open, it's not panic time yet.
  2. This guy Connor went from bashing the Bills, saying the hiring of Levy would bring more ineptitude and was a rush to judgement Exhibit A http://www.realfootball365.com/nfl/article...ilson050106.php to today where he praised the Bills saying that Marv was the right man for the job and this will have nothing but a positive impact on the franchise! Exhibit B http://www.realfootball365.com/nfl/article...bills060106.php C'mon dude, pick a side! Do you hate it or love it? Personally, I'm not sure how I feel and I'll reserve judgement until at least Week 4 in 2006. Until then, either take a stand or sit down and shut your pie hole.
  3. If the Bills are truly hopeful that Jim Haslett will take over should Mullarky fail, then it certainly won't be Aaron Brooks. How 'bout Steve McNair? At least he's accurate.
  4. okay, thanks. I figured as much. Maybe Tom Clements can call Temple back and see if they still want him!??
  5. Regardless of who the GM/Head Coach/uniforms/whatever are in 2006. if the Bills don't spend all of their FA dollars and high picks on O-line, then the draft is a failure in my book. I don't want to hear about speed, motors, semi-conductors or cadalitic converters, I want big beefy men to clog the trenches in order for JP to throw, Evans to catch and Willis to run. And no, that's not a cry for help, or is it? :U
  6. Yes, this week we did lose to a good Chargers team, on the road, where we have been struggling. The problem is this; we also lost to a bad Saints team, a bad Raiders team and a struggling Patriots team. WE ARE BAD! But I still love 'em. They break my heart every Sunday but I'm like the battered spouse, I'll justify it to the end.
  7. According to KFFL.com, here is an update: Bills | Everett Returns to Practice Wed, 9 Nov 2005 18:10:23 -0800 Gregg Pastore, of BuffaloBills.com, reports Buffalo Bills TE Kevin Everett (knee) practiced Wednesday, Nov. 9, for the first time since April. Everett was very limited during practice.
  8. I don't know if this was posted or not, but there was an article in the LA Times regarding the Saints situation. The quote was a little unnerving, but here it is: Amid renewed uncertainties over the future of the New Orleans Saints, NFL and Los Angeles-area officials on Monday sought to downplay the possibility the franchise might relocate to Southern California. The San Diego Chargers, San Francisco 49ers, Buffalo Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars and Minnesota Vikings are among possible candidates for a move to the Los Angeles area. -- Los Angeles Times Nothing to substantiate this, but still it didn't make me feel so good.
  9. If this has been posted, I apologize but it seems pretty out of character for Moulds. No way to defend this, it's unacceptable. According to KFFL.com - Saints | Smith Says Moulds Spit on Teammate Sun, 2 Oct 2005 20:20:37 -0700 Brian Allee-Walsh, of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, reports New Orleans Saints S Dwight Smith called Buffalo Bills WR Eric Moulds a "coward" for spitting on one his teammates as the teams walked to their dressing rooms at halftime of their Week 4 game. Moulds' actions led to a brief skirmish. "One of your brothers gets spat on, we're going to react," Smith said. "I just believe it was a cowardly act."
  10. I've been a Bills fan since 1977 when my dad took me to my first game at age 6. Stuff like this pisses me off, especially when it comes from a 'fantasy' source. They're looking purely at stats, and basing a comparison to Leaf on 3 NFL starts. By pointing this out, it fires me up about JP and makes me root for him all the more. It's like that line in Animal House, where Neidermeyer is yelling at Flounder. "HEY, they can't talk like that to our pledges, only we can talk like that to our pledges." I take it personally when outsiders rip on the Bills, they're like family to me. To say that I'm not a fan, well then you missed my point entirely.
  11. This is from a fantasy football site called TheHuddle.com They had a ranking of ten NFL teams on their Misery Index. Buffalo was ranked #4. 4) Bills: J.P. Losman looks like a kid a the airport that just lost his family in the crowd. And with the loss of Takeo Spikes the defense now has more than just a quarterback that can't keep the defense off the field to overcome. Think long and hard about dumping your Bills players off on anybody in your league who may not have actually seen Losman behind center for themselves yet. This guy has been Ryan Leaf bad. Bills fans now looking back fondly on the relative aerial assault that was the Drew Bledsoe era. This team looked so promising just 3 short weeks ago. But now you get the feeling this season is going to be like one long root canal after another. Without the happy gas. I'm not saying I agree with them, just thought I would add more logs on the flame war. My perspective is, it's week 4. Two years ago we were 2-1 coming into week 4 and we died a miserable and agonizing death. Last year we were 0-3 and being left for dead. So bottom line, who knows what's gonna happen. Just don't rag on my Bills. And for that Ryan Leaf comment, now that's just a low blow!
  12. Buffalo wins 30-13. McGee returns a kick for a score and the D scores one on a fumble recovery. McGahee runs for over 100 yds and Mark Cambell gets JP's first TD pass. Shades of the drubbing we handed the Pats in the opener two years ago, although hopefully the rest of the season will fare much better.
  13. We moved the day after my 9th birthday, September of 1980. I have been back since, but not downtown or anyplace other than my relatives. But I haven't been in the city since then.
  14. in a few weeks. Just wondering some hot spots I should hit downtown (haven't been back since we moved away when I was 9). Places to eat, fun bars/clubs, the artsy area (can't think of the name), and anything else I should check out. I'll be in for a full week and will have all my evenings open. Thanks!
  15. You mean me? Harrisburg, PA. The armpit of Central PA.
  16. I'm not sure who all is available, but he much cheaper than Bubba Franks and a lot more reliable then Riemersma, et al. Plus, if our guys should all be healthy by 2006 at the absolute latest, then we only need a one year fill-in. And if that's the case, why spend the $$ on Bubba.
  17. I wonder if the Bills have considered Chad Lewis? I know Andy Reid has told him that they will no longer need him, his contract expired. To my knowledge, he hasn't signed with anyone else and he's a serviceable TE. He has good hands (caught 2 TDs in the NFC Championship game before breaking his foot) and should be fully recovered from his injury. I say we bring him in for a look. Probably wouldn't be too expensive and knows the west coast-style offense. Thoughts?
  18. My personal favorite - TE Buster Barnett. I was a kid in '84 when he played. I think the Bills played on MNF that year. He had a key fumble late in the game that led to the loss. I watched the game with my dad, and he was fuming. I thought he had a cool name, sounded like a Dairy Queen sundae. "I'll take a Buster Barnett, a Mister Misty Kiss and two choclate dipped cones!"
  19. For anyone looking for new Bills wallpaper (and something a little different), I found a cool website you all may enjoy. Check it out. http://madspaniard.8k.com/NFL%20Page/Bills.jpg Go Bills - please beat . . . someone.
  20. has posted this already. He was signed by the Colts this week. I hope he does well. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/wire?section=nfl&id=1901156
  21. (and I'm sure I'll hear plenty) about contacting Dallas about getting our 1st rounder back? I say we call them and try to get a WR and our 1st rounder (the one we sent them in order to draft J.P. Losman) for Travis Henry. Now before I get beat up over this, hear me out. I think Travis is a phenominal back. Definitely top 10 in the league. But it's becoming apparent to me that he no longer wants to be here. He's moping around, missing assignments, going half-assed, I say it's time to cut bait. Dallas is in need of a back, and I think they'd be receptive. And in the NFC we'd almost never have to face him again. And with the way the Bills are playing, this could be a top 10 pick again! I think we need to shake things up and Mullarky could make his mark by doing this. Give MaGahee his shot (although I'm still not 100% sold on him). Okay, release the hounds. What do you all think?
  22. Thanks for the tips! I really appreciate it. I've been in fantasy football leagues for years, but never a survivor/suicide pool. I am thinking of either the Texans or Ravens (over the Browns) because of their defense. Thanks for the help though!
  23. for the first time and could use some help. Aside from the Bills (I don't want to use my homer pick right off the bat) what NFL team seems like a good bet to win this week? This suicide pool is pretty basic; pick an NFL team each week to win outright (no point spreads, etc). You can only use a team one time per season and if you're wrong, you're out. Last man standing at the end of the season, wins the pot. So far, I like the Falcons over the 49ers, and the Bears for some reason. Any thoughts?
  24. I always hated Gilbride. I hope he falls into an open sewer and dies.
