  1. Sorry if this has been posted already. From ESPN - the worldwide leader in slow. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2785649
  2. FINALLY, the voice of reason has arrived. What took you so long????
  3. why is it that when these so-called 'experts' talk about the Redskins (last night Steve Mariucci) it's 'too early to pull the plug on Brunell, the 'skins are not out of it.' But when it comes to our team it's all 'they should do it, they suck and have no hope.' "They" didn't actually say that, but you know what I mean.
  4. Now this is reported as a possibility mind you, so don't shoot the messenger. Found this on Rotoworld.com: Report: Bills may make quarterback change NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports the Bills will likely reconsider their quarterback situation during the Week 8 bye. Allowing Losman to finish out the season would make the most sense looking towards the future. If the Bills want to win now, Kelly Holcomb might be the better choice. Craig Nall also is hanging around. Giving up on Losman almost certainly would mean Buffalo will address the situation in the 2007 offseason. Oct. 23 - 12:21 am et
  5. according to rotoworld.com (a fantasy site, I realize, but still some helpful info): 10/16 13:14 Bills: Hargrove acquired The Bills made a move to shore up their leaky defense by trading for former Rams defensive end Anthony Hargrove. According to the Associated Press, the Bills sent a fifth round pick to St. Louis in exchange for Hargrove, who fell out of favor with the Rams after skipping two practices earlier this season. Our View Hargrove is a promising young player who amassed 51 tackles and 6.5 sacks in his second NFL season last year. He was a healthy scratch for three of the Rams six games, however, and clearly was no longer in their plans. His addition will be much welcomed on a Bills defensive line that just lost promising rookie John McCargo for the season and has been gouged for nearly 300 rushing yards in the last two games. But since most of you are convinced he sucks, then he must.
  6. Please note that my intention of this post was to announce that Woody would not be playing this weekend against Buffalo. That is the only reason I posted it. Don't lump me in with the trolls armed with their 2 cents.
  7. sorry if this has been posted already, but I found this on Rotoworld.com: Detroit Lions placed G Damien Woody on injured reserve with a foot injury, ending his season. One of Matt Millen's poor decisions, Woody received a $9 million signing bonus for two overweight seasons at guard and now an injury-prone 2006 season. His salary spikes next year, so we suspect he'll get cut in the off-season. This is more bad news for Kevin Jones owners. Oct. 11 - 3:02 pm et
  8. Daniel, Great post, I couldn't agree more. There is just a general contempt on this board, I don't know if it's jealousy or self-loathing or what, but it seems the moment something happens, it is interpreted that it could have happened differently - a better way. Too many chiefs on this board, and not one damn indian in the lot.
  9. You're having all Bills fans e-mail this guy because of his opinons? He said something bad about the Bills so now we must flood his inbox with our contrary opinions? Jeez, get some thicker skin. If you don't like what he says, either ignore it or don't buy tickets from him. he has a right to think his own thoughts. And yes, I'm a Bills fan, have been one for 35 years, and was born and raised in Buffalo, NY, in case you're wondering. I just have a shred of confidence where I don't allow one person's negativity to ruffle my feathers into retribution.
  10. It was more wishful thinking than anything. Says the Chargers are wearing theirs on 10/8 and 11/5.
  11. Paul Lukas of 'The Uni Watch' has the 411 on when the Bills will wear their beloved throwback uni's. Sept. 24th vs. NY Jets Dec. 3rd vs. San Diego Chargers Now if the Chargers wear their powder blues on the same day, that game should be on national tv for that reason alone! 12. I just saw this on CBSsportlline. Looks like Billy wants out, with the signing of Kerry Collins. I wonder if the Bills' brass would have an interest, considering they went after him 2 years ago. Young may make first start; Volek unhappy with Collins trade Aug. 30, 2006 CBS SportsLine.com wire reports NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Titans might dodge the question of who their starting quarterback is by giving rookie Vince Young the start in their final exhibition game. The Titans are stuck in a situation where Billy Volek, chosen as the starter when Steve McNair was traded, now has competition after the team signed 11-year veteran Kerry Collins on Monday. Volek isn't happy with the move and might be seeking a trade. He declined to talk to reporters Wednesday, referring questions to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus. His agent said only, "No comment." Young, the No. 3 overall pick in the draft out of Texas could get the start Friday when the Titans (0-3) visit Green Bay (1-2). Coach Jeff Fisher would only say that Young will play. "He'll probably get about the same playing time he's had the past couple of weeks," the coach said. Asked the same question, Young was equally brief. "You've got to ask Coach Fish," Young said. Fisher did say he had settled on a playing order for his quarterbacks that should be about even. He might even get Matt Mauck in the game. Fisher could decide to split the game evenly between Young, who needs as much work as possible, and Collins to speed up his learning curve of the Titans' offense. That would allow the Titans not to play Volek, who had been waiting patiently for his chance to replace McNair before they signed Collins. General manager Floyd Reese said he talked with Rosenhaus only once. That doesn't mean Volek, whose 10 NFL starts were the only such experience on the roster before Collins arrived, hasn't been the topic of conversations with other teams. "This time of year over the next couple of days, there's an endless number of conversations you'll have with clubs in the league saying 'What if?' Some you talk to three or four times, some you talk to once," Reese said. "Billy's name has come up from some of the clubs." Collins' ability to pick up the offense would make Volek expendable and eliminate controversy that could divide the locker room. Offensive coordinator Norm Chow said Collins has been such a quick study he believes the veteran could be ready for the opener on Sept. 10 against the New York Jets. Fisher said he could see Collins was much more comfortable Wednesday. "Yesterday he got on the practice field and didn't get an opportunity to time up any routes and just went right into practice, which is difficult. Today we got him a chance to time up the routes, so he was much more comfortable today," Fisher said. Collins agrees that he can be ready with study and more time under center. "I have been around a lot. I know what it takes to get ready to play," he said. "Even though it won't be that much time, I can do it." AP NEWS The Associated Press News Service
  13. As a follow-up, turns out Big Doofus never had a license: (KDKA) PITTSBURGH One day after the motorcycle accident that seriously injured Ben Roethlisberger, there are new questions about whether the Steelers quarterback even had a license to drive a motorcycle. As accident investigators continue to search for answers, KDKA Investigator Andy Sheehan has learned that police are looking into that issue this afternoon Sources say that while Roethlisberger had a license to operate a car, he apparently did not possess a Pennsylvania motorcycle license. City accident investigators are not commenting, but a confidential source tells KDKA that a review of motor vehicle records in Harrisburg shows that Roethlisberger has never had a Pennsylvania motorcycle license. According to our source, Roethlisberger did have a learner's permit that allowed him to ride a motorcycle; but that permit expired on March 29th. The source goes on to explain that Roethlisberger never took the written and driving test required to get a motorcycle license – and would have been driving illegally at the time of the accident. At this point, the state division of motor vehicles will not comment on the licenses of specific state residents. Likewise, Pittsburgh police spokeswoman Tammy Ewing tells KDKA that police will "have no comment on licensing issues" until the accident investigation is over. (© MMVI, CBS Broadcasting Inc. 14. I work for the PA Senate. My boss was the author of the bill that afforded motorcycle riders the choice to wear a helmet or not. They have to go thru extensive training and must wear goggles, but are not mandated to wear a helmet. I'm not saying I'm for or against, but I do know quite a bit about the law. And it was in his contract (Big Ben's) but the Steelers would face a PR nightmare if they went hardball after a young QB that just won them a Super Bowl. That would be stupid beyond all belief.
  15. I know this is off-topic but apparently this ran on the scoreboard during the Sabres/Hurricanes game yesterday. Under the notes section for the re-cap of last night's game. In the first period, a message on the scoreboard read: "The Carolina Hurricanes have won as many Super Bowls as the Buffalo Bills." WTF? Why does every city have to kick the City of Buffalo all the time? Did the Penguins do that to the North Stars when they skated for the cup in 1992? I mean, enough is enough!!! THis S*** fires me up!!! GO SABRES!!!!
  16. I saw that he was not drafted and several of you on this board were hoping the Bills would nab him with a late-round selection. Did he sign with anyone? Just curious.
  17. according to KFFL (my apologies if some of these have been posted already, I was merely trying to put them in one cohesive link): Bills | Williams is a beast in the middle Mon, 1 May 2006 09:34:27 -0700 Allen Wilson, of the Buffalo News, reports the Buffalo Bills are high on fifth-round pick DT Kyle Williams. Williams may have dropped due to concerns about his size (6-1, 295), but the former LSU standout has outstanding lower-body strength and excellent drive. "He's got a 100 percent motor on every play," said Bills scout Shawn Heinlen. "Despite being an undersized tackle he plays with great leverage. He's able to stick his feet in the ground and hold his place and not get washed out even by bigger offensive lineman." Bills | Simpson may be Vincent's successor Mon, 1 May 2006 09:32:31 -0700 Allen Wilson, of the Buffalo News, reports the Buffalo Bills feel fourth-round draft pick S Ko Simpson may eventually be able to replace veteran FS Troy Vincent as the team's starting free safety. Bills | Youboty to be groomed as starting corner Mon, 1 May 2006 09:28:56 -0700 Allen Wilson, of the Buffalo News, reports Buffalo Bills third-round draft pick CB Ashton Youboty may eventually replace franchise free agent Nate Clements (Bills) if the Bills are unable to sign Clements to a long-term deal. Bills | Whitner likely to start Mon, 1 May 2006 09:24:08 -0700 Allen Wilson, of the Buffalo News, reports Buffalo Bills first-round draft pick SS Donte Whitner is expected to fill the starting strong safety spot created when veteran SS Lawyer Milloy was released earlier in the offseason. Bills | Ellison can play all three positions Mon, 1 May 2006 09:38:38 -0700 Allen Wilson, of the Buffalo News, reports Buffalo Bills sixth-round draft choice LB Keith Ellison has a good chance to make the team due to his versatility. Ellison can play all three linebacker positions and has played strong safety during junior college. One comment however, Kyle Williams has a 'high motor.' Consider yourself warned!
  18. Now, this is just speculation on my part, but Denver could be a willing trade partner for us. We would get to draft 15th in the first and I will assume in the same spot in the 2nd, should we swing a trade with them? As per fanball.com - more of a fantasy site than news organization, but still worth a quick read. If quarterback Jay Cutler somehow falls to Denver at No. 15 overall, the Broncos would give serious thought to drafting him, the Denver Post reports. The team's depth chart at quarterback currently features 31-year-old Jake Plummer and inexperienced backup Bradlee Van Pelt. Our View Cutler is just the kind of quarterback Mike Shanahan's offense is suited for, but this is wishful thinking. It's difficult to imagine Cutler falling past the Cardinals, Rams, and Ravens—all of whom could very much use his services.
  19. Maybe Marv is traveling the country, getting in touch with all the guys from the '99 squad saying, "We're gettin' the band back together!" Your 2006 Buffalo Bills - They're on a mission from God!
  20. All I was saying is it was worth a look. There are many stupid posts here (like the ________ for DC) I hardly see why this one is that laughable. I think its someone we should/could look at. That's all. I remember a few years back that many people thought we should draft this kid. Now he's got a few seasons under his belt, he's looked okay and he could compete with JP. I would like for the Bills to get rid of Holcomb, he is a waste of a roster spot, he should never be considered our starter. I was just throwing out an idea. I apologize for wasting your precious time.
  21. This is deal that could help us, I would consider this! But then again, it's not up to me now is it. The Falcons are willing to part with backup QB Matt Schaub for a second-round pick. If the Bengals choose not to re-sign free agent Jon Kitna, Schaub could emerge as a candidate to bridge the gap until Carson Palmer's return from a left knee injury. -- Dayton Daily News Forget the Bengals, we should think about this.
  22. I can totally see it happen. I could actually see someone try to jump ahead of NY to grab one of the three. The Jests could actually draft someone like Reggie Bush out of sheer dumb luck. Either way, we need line help and if D'Brick is there, we grab him with both hands!
  23. With Chris Mortensen and all of ESPN gushing over Jay Cutler at the Senior Bowl practices, it got me thinking. The Jets need a QB and Leinart and Young will certainly be gone by the time they pick. But if Cutler is still there, maybe they pass on D'Brickshaw and take Cutler, allowing us to steal him with the #8 pick. It's just a thought, I don't know anything. Truly, it's well documented how little I know.
  24. of potential bad candidates as the Bills new OC. Rams | Olson hired as offensive coordinator Tue, 24 Jan 2006 06:51:03 -0800 Steve Korte, of the News-Democrat, reports the St. Louis Rams have hired former Detroit Lions quarterbacks coach Greg Olson to be their new offensive coordinator. During his career, Olson has tutored such notable quarterbacks as Jeff Garcia (San Francisco 49ers), Drew Brees (Purdue), Jon Kitna (Central Washington) and Rex Grossman (Chicago Bears). One down, several more bullets to dodge.
