  1. Strangely, they (the administration) don't seem to have much incentive to publicize them. I used to discuss this with BiB quite frequently, and as an insider he agreed: the administration sucks at marketing, and has needed to learn to communicate better to the public what's going on. It nearly bit them in the ass last election, when Kerry was briefed on current national security initiatives, then came out during the campaign and said "When I'm president, I'll do yada yada yada...", and could get away with it because the administration hadn't bothered to share the existence of "yada yada yada" with the American public yet. The administration doesn't seem to realize that the GWOT is a war of perception...and the general perception of them is sh--.
  2. Yes, "allegedly". Just like if you allegedly had balls, you'd allegedly be a !@#$ing man.
  3. That is, in fact, what's happening...even though those "!@#$ers'" only crime was being too damned stupid to find Montana.
  4. Ryan Leaf: good athlete. Peyton Manning: smart athlete. 'Nuff said.
  5. I'm sure it will, too. Considering the time-frame in each case is "when hell freezes over".
  6. A serious threat against Wall Street a couple years ago, for one. Of course, when it was reported it was dismissed as fear-mongering, because it never happened. You just can't win: either you stop attacks and people think you're making up the threat because it never happened, or you don't stop attacks, and people think you're incompetent for not being aware of the real threat. It basically reduces to: people are !@#$ing stupid.
  7. Other people who've had to fly today, who've bitched to me about how much the security lines suck.
  8. No. But I wouldn't feel unsafe doing so if I'd planned to. I'd just be really frustrated having to be there four hours early to get through security.
  9. Yeah...Frenchmen always SAY that, but...
  10. Ship all your tolietries home Fed-Ex. At the airports around here, they're confiscating all liquids and gels: toothpaste, hair spray, shaving cream, deodorant...you can't even bring a glass of water through security. Which is overkill, I think...but beside the point: if you take that through on your carry-on, it'll be confiscated. Other than that...flying's fine today. A pain in the ass, because security's taking that much longer. But if anything blows up in mid-air today, I'll eat this keyboard...
  11. Well...my point, too, was to disparage the "Saudi Arabia's responsibile for 9/11 because 12 of the hijackers were Saudi" nonsense with a reducto ad BF argument. Unfortunately, in these ridiculously ignorant times we live in, people would sooner believe my reducto ad BF argument than they would question the Saudi argument...once again dashing my hopes for the future on the rocks of an ignorant populace.
  12. What's your point? That the Brits aren't responsible for producing the conditions by which anti-American terrorists can operate in their own country? (I'm just trying the kooky-liberal talking points on for size today. They're itchy.)
  13. Have you seen your posts? You've given all of us ample reason to call you a moron.
  14. Jack Bauer once tortured Reggie Bush for an hour. Bush didn't talk.
  15. That's just spin. Twelve of the 9/11 hijackers were Saudi, people called for invading Saudi Arabia. But 20+ of today's wanna-be bombers are British...and the limeys get a !@#$ing pass? bull sh--. For that matter, some of the 9/11 money went through a UAE bank. I'm sure most of the wanna-be bombers' money went through British banks. We should make sure that no British companies are doing business on US shores, because clearly the !@#$ing limey ***** are no better than damn sand !@#$s...
  16. ICE probably would. So would JSP, but only on even-numbered days.
  17. Ooooh....get 'im, Lori! Let me get my popcorn first, I want to watch this beat-down...
  18. And that whole "humility" thing...
  19. Allies? All these terrorists just arrested were British. But Bush will end up blaming al Qaeda to protect his crony Tony Blair, just like he protected the Saudis after 9/11...
  20. Sure...they sit on this information for months, then arrest the guys and announce it one day after the administration loses one of its most valuable Democratic allies in the War in Iraq. There's no threat, this is just mid-term political posturing.
  21. So their message is "Let's keep useless and disturbing crap free"? Who the hell is the retard in the Tron outfit? Jesus...what the !@#$ did people like that do with their time before the internet was around?
  22. Even if there is room in their basement, I don't think the UN wants it.
