1. Howd you like theismann's VABills math? N.O. is on their own 35, and need to get to the falcons 35 for a 52 yard FG attempt. According to Theismann, they needed to gain 40 yards to get in range for a 52 yarder. :)

No one ever accused him of being a genius. A genius is someone like Norman Einstein. :D

I want to see Joe and Holcomb's Arm discuss Losman's passing yardage yesterday. That would be interesting...

  2. Not that you're really interesting in what I was or wasn't saying, because I'm sure it's all the same to you.  But my earlier point was that the difference in yardage between this week and last week seems more dramatic than it should, because of the prevent defense Losman faced in the waning moments of the game, and because of the fact that this week the receivers did such a good job of running after the catch.  So his performance wasn't 200+ yards better after you take those things into account, but it still was somewhat better strictly from a yardage standpoint.

And when every other quarterback on the planet throws against a prevent defense with receivers that run after the catch, they get credit for the yards. But you're arguing that Losman should be held to a completely different (and breathtakingly inane) standard because...?

We'll discuss precisely what a "prevent defense" is another time. Suffice to say, in the words of Inigo Montoya, "I do not think that word [sic] means what you think it means."

  3. :)

It's a damn good thing they got Drew Brees, Reggie Bush and are winning some games.  I'd love to see the city's residents' reactions if they were told "Hey your city is still pretty much a shitshow, but come out to the Dome on Sundays and see Aaron Brooks and AJ Hawk!  You'll feel much better....we promise."

I can't believe they're interviewing Spike Lee, who's talking about how so much of the city is still wrecked, and the obligatory Why Can't America Do Something..."But hey, we spent a couple hundred million getting the Superdome ready for MNF!!!" Spike Lee's a hypocrite. :D

And I may give up watching MNF, just because of the stupid-ass celebrity interviews. (And no, that has nothing to do with my general loathing of Spike Lee...I want to watch football, not listen to someone blather about something not related to the game).

  4. Well if Bush can take credit for the U.S. not being attacked since 9/11, I guess Clinton can take credit for New Orleans not being devistated and then abandoned during his terms.

The sun is going to burn out in the future, I guess it's Clinton's fault for not preparing us by funding more space exploration.  :D

    You're both idiots.

  5. I had a 2001 Grand Am GT.

I needed to have my rotors replaced every 9k miles or so. I took it to my mechanic, and he told me Pontiac is known to have horrible breaking systems. I made a formal complaint to Pontiac, but they told me enough people hadn't complained for them to "seriously look into."

Wow. You had a gay car. Then you traded up to a gayer car. :D

  6. Best one-someone over on the Range thinking Crap Throwing Monkey is Alaska Darin, obviously that can't be because CTM's posts are from Washington DC, and Darin's are from...  :D  yet that never caused them to use logic when CTM was posting in their thread and it was obvious who he is over there.

Where's that one? I missed it.

  7. how the local media and many of the fans are running around with their hair on fire over this loss.

    Here's how I see it:

ANYONE who thought the Bills were going to be anything other than 1-2 in their first three games before the season started was either nuts, drunk, or a blind homer. This team has many games to go and a lot of them are looking to be favorable matchups for this team.

    Sun., Oct. 1  MINNESOTA VIKINGS

Sun., Oct. 8  at Chicago Bears  CBS  1:00 PM

Sun., Oct. 15  at Detroit Lions  CBS  1:00 PM

Sun., Oct. 22  NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS  CBS  1:00 PM

    Sun., Oct. 29  BYE WEEK

Sun., Nov. 5  GREEN BAY PACKERS  FOX  1:00 PM

Sun., Nov. 12  at Indianapolis Colts*  CBS  1:00 PM

Sun., Nov. 19  at Houston Texans*  CBS  1:00 PM

Sun., Nov. 26  JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS*  CBS  1:00 PM

Sun., Dec. 3  SAN DIEGO CHARGERS*  CBS  1:00 PM

Sun., Dec. 10  at New York Jets*  CBS  1:00 PM

Sun., Dec. 17  MIAMI DOLPHINS*  CBS  1:00 PM

Sun., Dec. 24  TENNESSEE TITANS  CBS  1:00 PM

Sun., Dec. 31  at Baltimore Ravens*

All the games in bold are ones in which I think the Bills match up favorably from a talent perspective and SHOULD have a chance to win.

All this team needs to do is win at home. Say they manage to go 6-2 at home (which would require an upset over either Jax or SD), the'd only have to split their road games to finish 10-6.

Take a look at that schedule and tell me I'm wrong. GO BILLS!

    785696

    You're wrong.

But in 24 hours you'll change your mind, I'm sure...

  8. Notice how he hasnt said a peep about Losman's YPA yesterday? Thats because it was 8.6 yards. Last week, JP's 4.9 YPA was gospel and he was never going to turn into anything. This week, his 8.6 YPA means nothing, because it doesnt fit the rant.

    786148

But most of that 8.6 YPA was after the catch, so it doesn't count.

Like receivers catch Holcomb's passes and stop dead in their tracks...

  9. A muslim can choose to ignore a passage from the koran if they so choose, and still consider themselves a muslim, can they not?

    786142

No, they can't. If they ignore the Koran, they're not Muslim.

They can, however, choose to read the actual passages, and not the incorrect drivel you've been throwing around here.

  10. That 77 yard drive that impressed you took place against a prevent defense.  It's easy to look good when that's what you're up against.

Yeah, the overall yardage total seems impressive.  But 70 of those yards were against a prevent defense.  Many more were the result of a WR such as Parrish turning a short pass into a long gain.  Now you could say that sometimes a QB like Montana would help his receivers with YAC by hitting them in perfect stride.  I really didn't see Losman doing that at all.  The high YAC was because of the playcalling, blocking, and speed of the WRs, and not because Losman threw the ball with a Montana-like sense of timing.  After taking all these things into account, Losman's yardage total begins to look a lot more similar to the one he had last week against Miami.

    786087

I never get tired of this post. "Losman's yardage total begins to look a lot more similar to the one he had last week against Miami." How does 328 ever look similar to 83?
