  1. OK, your the guy with the future goggles on his head. Tell us 1 and I stress 1 Bold statement about the Bills this season and why you feel that way.

Please feel free to dialectize your response, I did mine in Jive here:

    http://www.rinkworks.com/dialect/

There is jive, cockney, elmer fudd, pig latin, moron, swedish chef & hacker available.

They will be fun to watch on offense, this year!

  2. The problem with the Bills is that we are never bad enough to get good. 6-10 to 8-8 keeps us picking in the middle of the first. I either want us to win 12 games this year or win 2. If we play ourself out of getting Mallet, Locker, or Luck because Gailey manages to win 7 games the vicious cycle will continue and we will never get any better. If he strikes gold and finds a way to win 12....fine. If we can't do that then here is to 2-14 and a brighter future.

Dear God No! Please not another "winning hurts the franchise" comment

  3. After that 4th consecutive SB loss to Dallas after the '93 season, I stopped caring about other franchises winning SB's before my beloved Bills. Let's face it, they had four straight chances to win just one of these damn games, and blew them all. Sure I'll respect those 4 consecutive Conference championships, a feat most likely never to be repeated again in today's salary capped free agencied NFL. But now I only want to live long enough to watch my Bills win just one SB. Unfortunately, Ralph Wilson has to live long enough at 93 years old, while they still are the Buffalo Bills, for that to happen.

So although it seems crazy that Tampa Bay and New Orleans have won their SB's before the Bills have, who really cares? Cleveland and Detroit fans have never even gotten the chance to watch their teams play in even one SB, and we Bills fans have experienced that feeling 4 times.

My thoughts exactly, at the age of 42.. I figure I'm halfway through my life (hopefully) and I just want a SB victory before I go.

  4. I always liked Maguire too. I think his pairing with Joe Theisman on ESPN made a lot of people dislike him...guilt by association I guess. I know Maguire was doing college games for ESPN in 2008...if I am not mistaken, he only did UFL games in 2009. It's a shame...the color guys on most Sunday afternoon games on CBS and FOX are just bland and generic...hard to believe there isn't a place for Maguire on an NFL broadcast team.

You don't like Solomon Wilcots announcing Beews games? :P

  5. Didn't Joe Montana win a superbowl by being a "captain checkdown".

Some reasons to name Edwards the starter now:

    1. He has more experience than the other quarterbacks

    2. A new offensive system requires more reps and allows timing with the receivers

    3. He is more accurate than the other three

    4. Takes away the tension surrounding the team regarding this question of who will start. (supplement)

    5. He can scramble, has some quickness and appears stronger.

    6. There aren't enough preseason games to give valid assessments.

    7. Being a checkdown qb was a large piece of the west coast offense.

    8. If its Fitz or Edwards, I go with Edwards and neither Brown nor Brohm are ready.

    Bring it.

Joe Montana once said, "I don't throw darts at balloons, I throw balloons at darts" Trent never said anything cool like that

therefore Trent cannot be compared to Montana

  6. How is it there are posts that say there will be no wins next year, posts saying our front office is full of morons, posts saying our draft was awful, posts saying how bad our roster is for xxx position?

I am tired of reading along a new thread and seeing where someone starts a good conversation than someone replying with a post that without support, logic, thought, or anything that just simply says how bad we are.

I really believe that some of the posters here are so negative and pessimist that they probably drive down the high way and see their car on empty. Instead of filling the gas up to keep driving they probably think, "oh heck, it'll just run through the gas again if I put more in, I'll just keep going on empty." It's worse than those idiots on TV who always rant about how bad our government is and how so much is screwed up without getting in to their beliefs or giving a way to fix the problem in general!

I gues my point is, how do you people consider yourself Bills fans? What pleasure do you get out of the game when you're always looking at how bad the team is? Personally, I know we are not such a good team and have problems! But, I absolutely love to see the Bills try to fix the problem, seeing them try to put the puzzle together, than us analyze the moves.

May the 2010 Buffalo Bills season bring us all more optimism!!!

Well said, couldn't agree with you more. People on this board have commented on my mere 500 posts even though I've been a member here for 7 years now, what you're describing is a big part of the reason for that. The older members of the board don't act in this manner but when I joined we were 400+ , now we're over 10,000+ members strong. Progress I guess? The predominant feel of the board however, is mostly negative

  7. I agree with your argument on the whole, but I believe Sanchez is "supposed" to be the face of the Jets. He didn't really lock it up last year though, despite the improbable playoff run. Another good year with better stats and I think he becomes that guy for the Jets.

As for the Dolphins, no one comes to mind, to me at least.

I disagree, the face of the Jets is also the gut of the franchise... Rex Ryan

  8. In 2010 the Bills finished 6-10. I believe without T.O, or veteran improvments to our O-line, and D-line, the Bills will not be able to win 4 games. My faith has been questioned by the organizaton's refusel to ATTEMPT to improve vital areas of this Football Team. I know the free agent market is not overflowing with talent, but I find it hard to believe there is not a trade that can be made that would benefit the Bills.

The Bills have given me no reason to get excited about the 2011 season. How do you feel about the 2011 season's promise?

Complete rebuild through the draft, no-name free agents, new Head Coach, I have no expectations for this season beyond winning a few games. :)

  9. I'm usually negative about the Bills, because they are awful. However! I see a ray of light in the 3-4 if we can get Kennedy and draft a Fat NT.

    Here's my dream:

    ROLB Schobel

    LOLB Maybin

    MLB Mitchell

    MLB Poz

    DE Stroud

    DE Kennedy

    DT Fat Draftee (Cody?)

That set up could be killer. Seriously.

Keep in mind that there more than likely will be a lengthy learning curve for our D as they make the transition. :P

  10. Theres a difference between TENDERING a player and offering him a contract extension

-Teams tender most of their RFA's, and other teams can still offer them contacts BUT they have to give up compensation. And the Redskins can still trade him. Next time you post something post the write words to the story instead of reporting something different and false.

My fault for assuming that you guys are clever enough to figure out that if a team offers a contract tender to one of its players, that in fact 99% of the time it leads to a new contract for said player or EXTENSION.

That, along with the fact that Shanny wouldn't have made the comment to the media about "stay tuned for big news" or whatever he said,

Bottom Line: Jason Campbell will be offered an extension by the Redskins, the rest is symantics.

But please, carry on trying to make yourselves feel smarter by stating the obvious

  11. or being in Maryland and watching Campbell play for the past couple years and that he looks like a slightly better version of Bills quarterbacking since 2006...

Why not get an already accomplished/capable quarterback. Why bother with yet another mediocrity.

Redskins just announced that they will tender an offer to Campbell, how's that for a threadkiller!

  12. You want the reason why Tebow becomes a Bill...becaue he slips to the late rounds...lmao at the Tebow stuff

You guys can think whatever you want to about my sanity, I don't care! I've followed this team for 30+ years now, and if the majority of you don't realize that Ralph is more or less Al Davis of the East, I can't help you. I, along with many posters on this board have seen enough over those years to know what goes on behind the scenes. RALPH IS A BUSINESS MAN, who thinks he knows football! <_< You need proof ?

    1) He let Bill Polian go because he trusted his treasurer over his GM, there was a conflict between the two and Ralph sided

    with the treasurer

    2) He ordered Wade Philips to start Rob Johnson over Flutie against the Titans.

    3) He called up his only successful HC and asked him to be GM, because he trusted him and it would appease us fans to

have Marv back in the fold.

Now I might sound cynical, but I don't mean to. I love this team, but I'm just being realistic. Ralph is a senile old man, we will be too, someday. The only problem is, we don't own our own football team. So go ahead, call me crazy or whatever you like, convince yourselves that Ralph is letting the new GM do his job, and likewise the HC, and that he is just an observer, just don't be surprised if it turns out I'm right. :)

  13. Simply put, Jim Kelly mentioned him (by name) in an article he wrote several months ago. Sorry, no link. We can speculate all we want about new GM and HC's decisions concerning players and the draft, FA trades.. ad nauseum BUT at the end of the day Ralph Wilson makes the decisions based on the advice of people he trusts, PERIOD! Ralph listens to Jim Kelly, Marv Levy, Thurman Thomas et al. because that group brought him success from a business standpoint and as an added bonus, a team that won on Sundays. If Buddy Nix wants Sam Bradford, and Jim Kelly wants Tim Tebow....

Tim Tebow will be the next QB taken by the Bills if he is still available.

  14. Fitz, I just don't know what to say about it...the man made some really nice throws to Evans, but then had 6 or 7 throws at least that made you say "Where the heck was that ball going?" Anyone else saying the same thing?

I remember thinking, WOW! That TD pass to Evans was zipped in between two Carolina defenders so fast I thought it was intercepted twice! What a throw

  15. Doubtful, as season ticket holders are currently suffering from buyers remorse. The front office fooled so many this year with the TO move and EVERYONE suddenly wanted tickets. Wilson would have to trade for Payton Manning or Tom Brady to fool everyone again next year.

The offensive coordinator came out and stated the team lacked a a big time threat opposite Lee Evans, and it did. But our lovable moronic head coach then dismantled the O line and the front office traded away the only pro bowl lineman, thereby destroying the tackle position. You would think that when you trade away a top player that the team would have looked to the draft to replace Peters. Every team in the top 6 wanted to trade outta their spots, but the Bills didn't want to replace Jason Peters with another high priced player.

Jason Peters must go home every day and thank the lord he is outta the hell hole that is the current Bills team.

Gotta tell you folks, I've never been so happy about being so wrong. I'm anxious to see what Fitz can do taking all the snaps and starting this week against the Panthers! I still don't think that Jauron is the right coach for this team but I'm excited for this Sunday, and to be honest I didn't think I would be at this point.

    GO BILLS! :bag:

  16. I stated in the offseason that I thought DJ would be gone after 6 games, and after we get embarassed by the Jets on Sun. I believe that Ralph will pull the trigger. I will admit however, that my choice for interim HC (April) doesn't exactly instill confidence in us this year based on his (not so special teams). In fairness, I think if you look at his entire body of work you could certainly argue that he would be an upgrade over Jauron. I don't know about you guys and gals, but my

hope for this team is to see someone else patrolling the sidelines next Sunday, whoever it might be. I just can't envision Ralph allowing this embarrassment to continue until the end of the season. I will never give up on my team, but I gave up on its coach over a year ago. I don't care what our final record is after the season, as long as the end result is a different HC and attitude for this team. For any of you who are frustrated and consumed by anger (like I was a week ago) take a deep breath... come to terms with the fact that we will take another beating this week in NY and as I predicted .....

    JAURON WILL BE GONE!!!! :wallbash:

  17. I have seen some rumblings from poster here on chants etc.. during the home opener...

lets try to make some sort of organized effort for us to unite and show Leodis our support for him.

anyone have suggestions? anyone good at organizing? help?

    chat? banners? rally?

I just sent a personal e-mail to Leodis, address: info@leodismckelvin.com

Whether he gets it or not, who knows? :wallbash:

  18. I've been a Bills Fan since I could watch them on TV with my dad and my grandpa. All I'd like to see is them get back deep into the Playoffs before my grandpa dies. I'm not even delusional about the superbowl.

After this offseason and this most recent sh*t with Walker and Schonert, I hope Bill Bellicheck kills us. I hope he sets a new record for the greatest blow out in history so it can go right in next to Ralph in the hall.

Our Front Office deserves to go down in history as one of the worst. They deserve to have their names spoken decades from now in connection with the biggest blowout ever.

This is cruel. We didn't deserve this.

How can you have a name that reads "Buffalo Bill fan for life" and then make such a moronic statement as this? I think your dad and grandfather would be ashamed of your remarks.

  19. Wait, so you were content with our offense last year?

All I'm saying is, we needed to address having a quality WR on Evans' opposite side to really open up the offense, we now have that. T.O. played a whole quarter in preseason, and before Schonert gets a chance to gameplan for his first opponent with Owens in the lineup, he gets fired. Seems to me either Ralph pulled the trigger on this move, or Jauron is panicking from all the pressure on him... but either way the reason we were told that Skeletor was brought back was for the sake of consistency? Makes no sense!

  20. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the preseason supposed to be about evaluating young players? Don't get me wrong, I like Pill and all but didn't Schonert play a big part in putting 50+ points on the Chiefs last year? and I seem to recall a pretty good offensive output against the Broncos as well. This notion of firing your OC just 10 days before the start of the regular season is just ludicrous! I hope it works out OK, but I have a sneaking suspicion that my offseason prediction (that Jauron will be replaced by midseason) is looking more and more likely.

    Jauron=Hank Bullough

    GO BILLS!
