1. All I can tell you is what I heard.......Houston , better city , alot more money, and an owner that knows what the going rate is for DC......Hell mcnair actually knows what day of the week it is ........The better question is why would he pick Buff., would you if you were him???

If my name was Bates it would be Houston here I come!!!

You obviously have not lived in Houston. Maybe national perception has it that its better then Buffalo, but nothing could be further from the truth. The weather has all the advantages of a swamp, traffic is the equal of LA's mobile parking lot, and the city itself has all the charm of a strip mall. Actually, slightly less charm then a strip mall... And BTW, I'm being kind in case there are any Houstonians reading this.

I've lived all across this country, and still I have a hard time figuring out why actual Bills fans continue to dis the fine city of Buffalo. Yea, hang all the politicians and cut the dang taxes in half for sure, but the city itself is far more liveable then most.

  2. Who cares if Willis - or anyone else for that matter - "wants" to be in Buffalo?  If Player X hates Buffalo and everyone in it, but goes out every Sunday and busts his ass because he wants nothing more than to win for his teammates and employer, I can't see the problem.

No problem, but I do get PTRs point. I was really hoping for Haz back when Williams was being interviewed, but the timing just didn't work.

The problem now, I suppose, is that after reading some stuff on JH, I'm not so sure he's actually a good coach. If the Bills hire him I'll give him some time and hope. Nothing could be better then combining competency and the respect for my home town.

  3. Well we just dumped a very good football man so that a mentally-imbalanced, drug-addled, octagenarian meddler could assert himself by kowtowing to the most moronic fringe of what is becoming a pathetic fan base.

Yeah, I'd say we're in pretty fu(king big trouble.

Well said. I guess I have lived long enough to actually see the inmates run the frigging asylum....

  4. would carson palmer have beat out jon kitna in open competition last year?

    544445

Seriously. I cannot believe the drivel people are spewing over Holcromb. Kitna played OUTSTANDING ball the year before, but no one messed with the Palmer kid's development.

But in Bills land a QB with 5 starts better put up or he goes to the bench....for a career journeyman. Fans and press have created a fake QB controversy, and it was allowed to fester because MM didn't put his foot down and cut this puppy off at the knees.

I was here for DF v RJ, but this one is about as bogus and "Dawgged" as anything I have ever seen. 'We' fans better get a grip.

  5. Personally I think this approach is brilliant! Consider:

    1. While most of you have jumped on the "I HATE TD" bandwagon, I would like to remind you old timers that, Polian aside, we probably have never had a better wheeling and dealing GM in Buffalo - ever. Whats more, many of TDs picks are talents. JPL, LE and WM have a big time future with an improved line. You all need to stop foaming at the mouth about TD. If Wilson /Bills history is an indicator, he is much better then the guy who would replace him.

    2. TD may in fact be the most important guy the Bills have had in the organization. Crazy? Well, this man has figured out how the Bills can make money, and has executed the plan. What does that mean on the football field? Nothing, other then that football field stands a much better chance of remaining RWS instead of, say, the Coliseum.

    3. Sammy W at OC would be awesome indeed if his voice can work the change.

My only problem with this list is JG. I have a suspicion that Williams/LeBeau were the real brains of the D operation. Just a hunch mind you...

  6. Those "sources" are Tom Donahoe... who will do anything and everything to cast blame on someone other than himself and his inept coaching staff for the team's struggles.

It's pretty pathetic that they have to bring down the most tenured Bills vet to do that, however.

    523814

Thank goodness we have posters with such excellent in-side information, or that know the people involved and can make in depth character assessments.

  7. Right on Mr T. TD has been a highly entertaining GM, who has kept us on the edge of our seats with his bold moves. And most important, many of them have panned out. The group of players you listed are part of a long list of guys he has wisely drafted or paid (or not paid.) The man knows his stuff. That he has made some mistakes is only human, and not the fodder for endless whining.

The vitriolic chest pounding that is (now) TBD can really were a guy down...

  8. Start 1 RB, 2 WR and 1 Flex in a 14 team IDP dynasty league. PPR for all. I have serious O power, but too many choices. Thoughts?

    RBs:

    Caddy Williams

    C Benson

    T Bell / Anderson

    L Jordan

    WRs:

    T Holt

    L Evans

    Mi Clayton

    L Fitzgerald

    B Stockley

Right now Im leaning to this:

    L Jordan

    Holt

    Fitz

    Evans

Tough to sit Clayton and Caddy, but against Buffalo's DT? Im even having a hard time deciding between L Evans and Stockley with BS's home game against Jax. Any input?

  9. Simple pop or not, it doesn't do much for me. They might be the most technically correct musicians in the business; I could care less.  Good for them, nice to see more than three chords and screaming and all that, but if it doesn't appeal to me, it doesn't appeal to me.

There are too many artificial boundaries.  I feel a cliched speech about how labels suck and how alternative is mainstream coming on... insert that rant {HERE}.

No argument from me. Personal tast is altogether a different issue. I just just get worked up a little when people dismiss them for being "pop" or "like everyone else." They are guilty, not nesasarily of bad tast, but of not paying attention.

  10. People can say what they like about coldplay, but all you do is demonstrate your inability to recognize excellent songwriting.

    429277

    What he said.

Coldplay is not simple pop music. It is highly dramatic, and with excellent musicianship and songwriting. True, you're not likely to find yourself banging heads in a mosh pit while you listen too it, but that only commends it even more. Those that claim it is like everything else, or that it's for the lollipop crowd simply have an underdeveloped appreciation for fine music.

And before anyone gets the wrong idea, I am a musician who constantly laments the regressive and primitive state of contemporary music. I also listen to mostly "alternative" and will not be found scanning the bubble gum stations.

  11. Oh, sweet bobblehead Jesus!  I read something like this and I start to shake my head as I re-live so many painful memories.  Then I start to laugh as I realize that this is some other jerk's problem now.  And all of those bad feelings start to wash away finally and I feel as if I'm reborn and all the world is filled with wonderful new possibilities. Then come the tears, as the joy becomes almost too much.

God bless you Drew Bledsoe, you magnificent lead-footed, yellow-seeing, 4th quarter-fumbling bastard!

    411440

    Amen brother.
