  1. I would have missed him if we didn't have McGahee. I really think Donahoe will pull off something big today. Waiting this long to pull the trigger with Arizona got the Eagles and Bucs into the mix, so there is good competition. In other news, ESPN is reporting that the 49ers are actively seeking to trade the #1 pick and several teams have called them. Anyone think that Donahoe has his wheels turning on this one?
  2. I've been playing about 20+ years and I'm about a 5 handicap. I missed a lot of time during college when I worked on a golf course maintenance crew (free golf, but I was wiped out by the end of the day most times), but my game has gotten better over the past 3-4 years. I finally shot even par last summer, even though I missed a couple of make-able birdie putts.
  3. Without regards to needs, Braylon Edwards. Imagine a 3-WR set with Moulds, Evans, and Edwards? Otherwise, David Pollack. I'd rather see a good, young pash rusher to actually threaten to put the opposing QBs on their tails. Most realistically, David Baas. Seems like almost every lineman out of Michigan ends up in the Pro Bowl.
  4. My wife watches her show a lot. Rachel is from upstate NY and talks up the Adirondacks and Western NY every now & then.
  5. One of the flaws I see in this show is their ad-hoc method of developing the plot. We know the writers don't write out the entire season before they start filming and they actually develop the plot as they film each episode, so I think they sometimes "throw together" an episode. Season 1 was very well-thought out and covered up the holes in the plot. This has regressed over the past 2-3 seasons. While the plots are good, they've gotten worse at leaving the little things unanswered. I don't wonder why a particular character is involved or why someone did something, since I figure it will be explained at some point. That's not necessarily the case this season. Having said that, yes - a lot of the plot is unrealistic and impossible to believe. But this is television, so I'll enjoy it.
  6. I was also in my living room. I was taping the game, as I did with all Bills playoff games. I stopped recording it at halftime and considered not recording the second half, but I convinced myself to keep recording it. I figured I might as well get the whole thing.... I called my father afterwards (he listened to the radio broadcast) and he told me Van Miller sounded like he was about to lose his voice.
  7. The thing is...the show has focused on Edgar not doing the hourly LAPDs - i.e., how he dumps it off to someone else, then when he should look at it, he places the CD in a pile, etc. All the while, Marwan and his crew realize that report will eventually get through to CTU and they'd figure it out. With Edgar blowing off the reports - just as Marwan would like - we might be seeing the twist here. This is just my speculation and reasoning for what I think the next plot twist will be. I've been wrong about this show before. Agreed - by far, it's the best since season 1.
  8. I said that because this show is capable of anything. Not many suspected Nina was a mole in season 1, nor did we expect her to kill Jack's wife. Besides, in the previews for next week, I thought I heard Chloe saying something like "Edgar, what are you doing?". I just think you'd have to be aware that a mole or a plot twist would involve the least obvious character. Something could also be amiss with Heller. He was supposed to be secretly meeting with some military guy, but we haven't seen him for about 90 minutes (in '24' time).
  9. I say Edgar is working for the terrorists.
  10. Based on his performances in 2003 and 2004, this wouldn't be that much of a surprise.
  11. I'd love to update you, but I'd be too verbose and may not do it justice. However, it was a pretty good ending. You can read through the episode guide: www.fox.com/24
  12. I'd have to disagree. When Pittsburgh started winning last year, Roethlisberger was playing lights out and the defenses couldn't defend him for the first 5-6 games he played. Once they figured him out, the Steelers relied on Bettis and their defense to win games, which they did. The Bills will probably have a similar formula for 2005. We know the defense is there and we know they'll run the ball. The trick is to determine when to have Losman make some plays and keep the defenses off-balance. For now, though, I don't see the need for Losman to play like a Pro Bowl QB.
  13. I'm glad the Bills voted this down, too. Isn't this contingent on the Jets getting the west side stadium....which hasn't even been approved yet? Pataki should spend the money on...oh, maybe....education or police. Something worthwhile, at least. The Jets don't NEED a new stadium and if this is what it takes to get the Olympics to NYC in 2012, then I'd vote it down. I'm getting tired of seeing sports venues built with taxpayer money, when probably 75% of the taxpayers don't care about it.
  14. True....that point makes sense, but this is TV. It wouldn't be entertainment if they just had some Joe do the Sherry Palmer dirty work. It was Allan Milliken (sp?).
  15. I wouldn't go that far...her character really added a lot to the show. I can see how you'd think the writers went out of their way to put her in seasons 2 & 3, but the character's personality was classic. I can't remember how many times I would have decked her. I actually miss David Palmer. Wasn't he going to make a cameo at some point this year?
  16. I thought about that, too....they've done that in previous seasons, so it's a very good possibility they didn't actually kill her. Marwan might want to keep her for leverage of some sort.
  17. She was trying to protect her son. She was clearly in a lose-lose situation. If the gun was loaded, she shoots Marwan followed by his men killing her - or she shoots Jack and loses her son. If it wasn't, she's killed anyway. Did anyone else think back to last season when Jack had Chase in the EXACT same situation? I knew a *click* was coming....
  18. David Palmer became President before season 2. During last season's crisis (which was in the middle of his campaign for re-election), he decided to not run for President again.
  19. You're trusting this news because it came from Henry himself? I'd be a little more patient...when it's really done, we'll hear about it from a legitimate source.
  20. Well, recall the first few minutes of the episode...the President asks Heller to secretly meet with (I think) a high-ranking member of the military to discuss options for declaring martial law if another terrorist attack occurs. So, we're led to believe that Heller is doing everything to help the President and be the good guy. I wonder (like season 1) if they're trying to write Heller into being the bad guy that helped the terrorists....
  21. Thea Andrews Seriously, I think Skip's job is just to argue every point, regardless of whether or not he's right. I hate that.
  22. Bush was in Florida that morning and from what I recall, wanted to be back in Washington ASAP. He was taken to an AFB in Nebraska (I think), then flew to DC later in the afternoon. Any time Air Force One was in the air, I'm pretty sure there was a serious military escort around the plane.
  23. I figured something was up when Heller told his advisor that the President should stay in the air. That seemed odd to me, too. Doesn't seem sensible to keep the President in a vulnerable position during a national crisis. Some other thoughts.... I'm kinda glad they bumped off Sarah. Her job demands in the middle of a crisis like this are a bit far-fetched. I probably would have fired her, too. I liked the old Michelle Dessler better (i.e., the bad-ass agent she was last season). Seems like they dolled her up a bit too much. I know she's a Division director and all, but still. As soon as Paul was shot, I figured this was their way to make sure of no "competition" for Audrey. On the other hand, since Audrey seemed pretty shocked by Jack's interrogation tactics, maybe she'd be less inclined to stay with him, if Jack works better in "hell" (as Tony put it). Does anyone see Tony & Michelle back together? It seems obvious, but maybe so obvious that they'll do it.
  24. Possibly...I was never really a fan of the woman who played her. She's not exactly the best actress I've ever seen. I get this feeling that Sarah is really a mole of some sort. Recall that she was falsely accused of leaking info earlier this season and was interrogated by Driscoll. It's not unlike the writers to throw her into the mix again like that.
  25. What bugs me is the 4:00 games on the east coast....when BOTH teams are east coast teams. Two years in a row, the Bills played the Jets at 4:00 - in October 2004 and November 2003, I believe. They did that with the Patriots at Jets this year, too. Why? Ratings, probably. If Fox had a national 4:00 game, then maybe CBS will try to compete with that. Vice versa for someone like the Giants at Philly - Fox may want the large eastern markets to compete with the big CBS 4:00 game. I still don't like it....I'm up for the 16 1:00 games.
