1. Pretty sure this was the first R rated movie I ever saw. I was in 8th grade and my then oldest sister's boyfriend (now ex-husband) took me. Not sure if people remember but back then it was a controversial movie because it was considered extremely violent for its time. That is why it may not 'hold up' as well for some who watch it now, where the violence pales in comparison to present day movies. At the time though it was a damn cool movie for someone in 8th grade - I remember kids pretending to be members of the various gangs.

One of the best delivered movie lines ever - "Warriors - come out to playyyayyyayy"

  2. What is the link? - I need to show this to my wife. It has been a long standing joke in my family that my son's second finger is ridiculously short. Mine is a little shorter - but when we checked our family it turns out my father's is also extremely short.

The thing is - my son and Father are not 'agressive' at all, although my Dad was/is a great athlete and my son has been doing OK himself - so I guess I'll just discount the agression theory and go with the better athlete theory :o

  3. Haven't heard Price's name come up much as an option should Jennings leave. Wondering if the Bills staff considers him a viable LT option. He has a lot of experience there - and from what I can remember he's been solid when he's played.

Played, but did not start, vs. Jax. (9/12/04), at Oak. (9/19)…played most of the second half at left tackle vs. NE (10/3) in relief duty for an injured Jonas Jennings…was active but played mostly on special teams at NYJ (10/10)…started at left tackle in place of Jonas Jennings vs. Mia. (10/17) and helped pave the way for RB Willis McGahee's 111-yard rushing performance on 26 carries…also played a pivotal role in holding Dolphins All-Pro DE Jason Taylor to zero defensive statistics…started for the second straight game in place of Jonas Jennings at Bal. (10/24)…played but did not start vs. AZ (10/31)…played in unbalanced line formations and entered the game in the third quarter at right tackle when Mike Williams suffered a neck injury vs. NYJ (11/7)…active but did not play at NE (11/14)…played in a reserve role vs. St.L (11/21)…spelled LT Jonas Jennings for a brief period when Jennings left the game with an injured shoulder at Sea. (11/28)…saw significant time at both left and right tackle at Mia. (12/5) as LT Jonas Jennings and RT Mike Williams both left the game at times with injuries…played a large role in holding Dolphins DE Jason Taylor without a sack for the second straight game…started at right tackle in place of Mike Williams vs. Cle. (12/12), and the offense showed little drop-off as Willis McGahee rushed for 105 yards on 27 carries with two touchdowns…played in a reserve role at Cin. (12/19), at SF (12/26), vs. Pit. (1/2/05).

  4. anyone ever seen anything crazy?

    251744

    I've seen this

Eric Cartman: I dreamed I was standing out in a field, and there was this huge satellite dish stickin' out of my butt. And there were hundreds of cows and aliens, and then I went up on the ship, and Scott Baio gave me pinkeye.

Stan: That wasn't a dream, Cartman. That really happened.

Eric Cartman: Oh, right. Why don't I have pinkeye, then?

Kyle: Cartman, you do have pinkeye.

    Last line

Eric Cartman: Oh, son of a B word.

  5. I also thought the "I’m not the answer to this problem we’re having and I don’t think there’s an answer to it" quote was very weird.

I also was surprised his leg isn't totally full strength? - "I’m working out with my strength coach and my speed coach to try to strengthen my leg up a little bit. They say it’s going to take another month or so"

On a related note - I thought a comment Drew made was pretty interesting - doesn't sound like he necessarly thinks the world of JP (at least at this point):

"Backing up anybody is not something I foresee for me," he said. "I don't see myself ever being a backup in this league, and particularly for J.P. . . .

  6. I have seen Blue & Blue light from time to time in the grocery stores here in the Raleigh area.  There are even a few bars that carry it.

    225285

Do you remember which bars you've seen it in here?

BTW - who's old enough to remember when you ordered one you said "I'll have a Labatt's" - not "I'll have a Blue"

  7. SPOILER ALERT ON TONY -- SEASON #3

Remember, Tony was the only one at CTU (with Jack) who knew about Gael.  So there's a background about Jack trusting him when he doesn't trust anyone else at CTU.

I know Chloe's due back, but I thought by now they'd pick up her trail visting her friend Andrew, who disappeared into a hospital 3 or 4 hours ago.  I thought Edgar would tell Driscoll to bring her back last night, since five hours ago Edgar seemed to be afraid to sign on without her help.

And yeah, Tony blowing in like that near the end of the show was pretty cool.  (Why is there any question about how he got there?  Who do you think Jack called?)

    225247

Have to admit the first person I thought was Chloe (not thinking he was calling for physical firepower). And I also thought Chloe would come to the rescue when the fat guy was getting nervous (knowing she's got to show up back at some point).

I thought the entrance by Tony was awesome (probably more since I didn't see it coming). Tony is very cool - unless they give him a bunch of emoting to do like last season when his wife was in peril. And the preview had him whining about his problems from last season - so I hope he'll get over that and get to the business of being a terrorist killing badass.

This is OT and extremely shallow (not sure if it has already been mentioned) - does anyone else think they could have gotten a better looking actress for Jack's GF? :D Even my wife made a comment.

  8. This thread reminds me of the climate control in the winter at the house of one of my best firends. His Father used to set the thermostat at 56 during the day in the winter (maybe even colder at night). I can still picture walking into his house and seeing his Father sitting there on the couch (literally) in a parka. With all due respect though - money was pretty tight for them and I think his Dad did go through a period where he was looking for work.

  9. What about people with children who have to take a lot of sick time to take care of their kids?  Where do they fall into this whole hierarcy?

I usually call that "work from home".

Goes back to the 'unlimited sick day thing' and the type of job/situation you are in. In my situation we are appraised based on output and results, not number of hours worked in the office. If something comes up that takes you away from the office you are still expected to meet your schedules/deadlines (or work out an acceptable contingency). If I miss a day or two because my kids are sick my manager doesn't blink - as long as ultimately I get my job done.

  10. What's even better is TD letting Henrys' agent do all the ground work, lining up the interested teams. Then he'll makes the calls, already knowing they will come close to meeting his asking price of a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

    220456

Exactly Mark - and the agent is motivated to drive for and set the expectation for a starting RB role (and therefore starting RB compensation). I wrote the same thing in an email to my brother this AM.

  11. Funny - in my company we get unlimited sick days - and I rarely if ever in 18 yrs working here I noticed anyone abusing it. If anything the opposite happens - where people have to be told to go home so they don't get everyone else sick. Of course I also work in a highly technical field with highly skilled and motivated people so that might have something to do with it. Just thought it was interesting - I bet it is possible that people take less sick days by having an 'unlimited' amount than having a finite amount which people think they need to 'use up' by the end of the year. I wonder if there have ever been any studies regarding that.
