  1. I was browsing www.instantwatcher.com trying to see what some of the latest and greatest additions to Netflix streaming have been when I came across the description for this show on SyFy. I went ahead and watched the first episode of Season 1 and it caught me off guard how much I enjoyed it. I just got finished watching episode 2 and I think I'm already hooked. Looks like it's currently in the second season, and there is a marathon coming up on 8/30 on SyFy, so if the remainder of S1 holds my interest I'm going to check out that marathon and/or put it on the DVR. Anyone else watching this show? Does it hold up beyond the first few episodes? (please use spoiler tags as needed...thanks!)
  2. These guys need a tv show...their "investigations" are far more compelling than most of the bunk I've seen on TV. Unless this is a total scam, I agree, it's really very interesting.
  3. People who use hindsight to criticize draft picks are morons. I'm glad Buddy is gone, so that's no defense of his decisions...but people make it sound like it was just so obvious who the probowlers were going to be at the time of the draft. Horsehockey.
  4. Okay, no problem. Let me know. haha Nice, those Adams are some fantastic pro monitors...are yours powered?
  5. Should we start talking about audio gear again now?
  6. Youtube is awesome...I can't believe how much I've been using it for lately. Thanks for posting, Gugny
  7. Will do, thanks!
  8. I have a Slate something or other in my download list, but I think it's movie reviews or something...I'll have to check out the one you're referring to...I've sort of settled in on only a few that I listen to regularly now, so I have room for more. the one reality cast I listen to, "Rob has a website"/Rob has a podcast", has been doing reviews of the breaking bad episodes, so that has been a lot of fun, too. I hope these guys are making money on these efforts...I know Ross Tucker and Steve Austin now have a listener base all over the world...they both get emails and calls from people all over the place, so clearly at least some of these are taking off. Hopefully they are generating enough revenue to keep this form of entertainment viable...I'd really be lost without these things now. I dont' even care if I get stuck in traffic anymore, and that's saying a LOT...I typically have zero tolerance for Atlanta traffic...these are a life saver
  9. It's really amazing how many intelligent responses these guys are getting...I've never seen it done this way, but they are really onto something. I'm also fascinated by how the voices are all so distinct from each other. And then just when Im really into it, some spirit or whatever goes off on like a ten second diatribe and I need to take a break to change my pants!
  10. I need to stay off Drudge, too! That place scares the hell out of me lately, man...one of these days someone will have to break into my house after not hearing from me for days, only to find me curled up in the fetal position while moaning incoherently
  11. Same here, man...I couldn't give a crap about these people who claim to be psychics or whatever...my interest lies in all these new gadgets they have to try and go after more objective evidence. That's partially why Ghost Adventures is so much fun to me. They once did a show on this guy who has an engineering background or something similar, whose daughter was killed at a very young age. So he started trying to design different gadgets to communicate, several of which they use on the Ghost Adventures shows. I dont' remember ever seeing them used outside of that program, though, so these youtube clips caught my eye. These guys also (seemingly) conduct their experiments in an interesting way...they have one guy with noise isolating headphones/earphones who is listening to the spirit box feed while one or two others verbally speak to the ghosts/spirits...that way you can see when there is corroboration or an intelligent response via the spirit box to what the verbal person is saying. Pretty smart, actually. Of course, the guy with the phones could be able to hear everything, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt....more fun that way.
  12. I know there are some fans of shows like Ghost Adventures, so thought I'd post a couple links that you might find really interesting. As a disclaimer, let me say that I take no position on this other than for entertainment value. Please don't start any holy wars over this or anything. One of the tools that I have found really interesting is the "spirit box" or "ghost box". It rapidly scans over audible frequencies and, theoretically, spirits are able to somehow talk via this device. Anything intelligible that spans over multiple bans (thus debunking the possibility of picking up a radio broadcast or other type of program) is of interest, and these are some of the most fun sessions I've ever seen. As you'll discover if you watch them, the central figure is "John", who is apparently working to help the lost souls find their way into the light....which in this case is represented by a large gate, or door, that is opened and closed. The first video I'll post is the "message from John", and then I'll post the video that I saw first, which was really interesting. The third link will be to what they consider their most important session, which is where they realized the gravity of what was going on. Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eS6pUE8Nwl0&feature=c4-overview-vl&list=PL391F52D731B37470 Here's the 2nd video... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uyT1HFKAla0&list=PL391F52D731B37470 ...and the 3rd http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WC9D6Qjqo50&list=PL391F52D731B37470 Looks like the links are coming up the same for 2 and 3... The title for the second one is "A Ballroom Doorway to Heaven" and the third is "A Matter of Faith" The name of the channel/subscriber is SupernaturalMedia mods, sorry, I posted on wrong side of the tracks...can you guys move me over to OTW? Thanks...my bad!!
  13. No doubt...no reason to feel sorry for him at all. Unless he's a complete idiot, he's set for life on Ralph's dime.
  14. lol, you may be onto something there. I was surprised to see that he looks even smaller than he did when he was here. That kid can't maintain weight for anything. I still think he should convert to TE, though...
  15. I have always admired his artistic abilities, but I could have done without the closeup shot of his fungus toenail.
  16. Thanks for the update...I'll give a listen today for sure!
  17. We apparently had a school shooting here in Atlanta yesterday...I couldn't even bother looking at the news. Just too much stuff like this going on.
  18. "Germany is probing how a man, high on drugs and wearing only underpants, was able to board German Chancellor Angela Merkel's government jet. The man, clutching a bag full of marijuana and ecstasy pills, danced on a wing, sprayed extinguisher foam around the plane and pushed buttons in the cockpit before finally arrested by police, according to a report by Spiegel Online." That is the best opening to an article that I've ever read lol Ironically, I have been on a leave from work for the last week...
  19. Thought I would update this thread now that I've finally gained a foothold. So I ended up relapsing hard not long after I started this thread...it wasn't so much because I just couldn't put down the pop, it was mostly the convenience factor. Well, that's all changed... At the end of July I decided it was time to make another effort and this time it's really taken hold. My current regime is plain ice water, crystal light peach tea, and skim milk. I was at the doc yesterday and I've already lost 12lb without making any changes at all to my diet. I feel SO much better. It's pretty scary, cause I have two gallon-sized pitchers that I use to mix up my crystal light. I realized by the following day that I had already drank one entire pitcher. I then figured out how many empty calories that WOULD have been in the form of pop, and it blew my mind. So as of today, I cannot tolerate any sugary beverages at all. I'm peeing like a champ, I never feel bloated after a meal like I used to, and I'm actually feeling as if my thirst is truly being quenched when I reach for any of the three choices mentioned above. I've really re-discovered my love for a nice cold glass of skim milk...I used to drink milk like crazy as a kid, so it has that nostalgia aspect, as well. But a nice cold glass of that and a banana is one hell of a satisfying snack. The next step will be to make small changes to portion sizes and to become more active. Hoping to be back down to my fighting weight by my birthday next year by making small, meaningful changes. But I really think I'm done with the sugary stuff...it almost makes me sick to my stomach now that I've detoxed from it. This is the first time in probably fifteen years that I didn't even have a single can of Coke in the fridge.
  20. Nice, thanks! I'll give that a listen for sure.
  21. I'd say the two go hand in hand perfectly...good times! Congrats on the new egg!
  22. Apparently this has been an annual event since 2007...I have no idea how I've never heard of this before. Anyway, in London, Apple is sponsoring a concert every night for the month of September.
