I do not fault them for this. It is simply posturing to say he is not available. If they publicly say Lynch is available, how does that help?
-
This is a salvage operation at this point. You do what you can under the circumstances. Lynch is not Chan's kind of player and probably was never going to return to his old form while in a Buffalo uniform.
-
Nice value under the circumstances. A 3rd would have been nicer, but just got to move forward. The Bills need to stockpile draft picks right now and this is a good start.
-
Agree. It's also very, very sad when one of the team's captains -- Lee Evans -- is the biggest QUITTER of them all! Very sad, indeed.

Edwards impresses Jags enough for them to cut Bouman

+1 Almost made this identical post until I read this. -
Billick & Martz or Marty & Son - both were interested

Ralph needs to blow himself up -- step away from his hands-on approach to football operations or sell the team. -
I'll confess that I figured Nix/Gailey knew what they were doing -- that they had a plan to improve the OL. In hindsight, really got to wonder what their thought process was here. I can understand Gailey maybe not wanting to deal with Incognito's penchant for insubordinate behavior, but geez, until you've got an adequate replacement, you deal with that and keep him around.

Does this front office know how to make a trade?

Eagles want the Bills to toss Marshawn their way for free -- to make up for sticking them with Peters. -
I was really impressed with Ryan Fitzpatrick

One offensive captain down (Edwards), one offensive captain to go (Evans). -
Evans is sure getting star pay. I won't call you crazy, but I will disagree. Also, turning players into draft picks is a way to get better down the line -- obviously not immediately, but in the future. His effort is suspect on some plays. It could even be a case of addition by subtraction. I'd rather put some other guys in there at this point.

Who will own the 1st overall pick in 2011?
ChasBB replied to billnutinphoenix's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I want to see the Bills win the top overall pick and then trade down and bulk up the lines with solid late 1st round picks, 2nd round picks and 3rd round picks. -
Where is the Front Office at this time

I'd at least start with the above changes if I could be Ralph for a day. -
I would do just about any deal possible to move Lee off of this team. It comes down to production. He simply doesn't produce. I would take a 3rd rounder for him or even a conditional draft pick at this point. He's not worth two picks, let alone three picks. He'd probably be a nice addition to a playoff-bound team that already as some receiving threats and maybe they'd give up a 3rd rounder for him, but that's about as good as it's going to get.

OFFICIAL GAMEDAY THREAD (10/3/10): BILLS @ JETS

Thank you Ralph Wilson for firing Bill Polian. It could have been us with multiple winning seasons and routine playoff appearances all these years, but of course it was not because of you. Thanks so much. -

Unfortunately, the Lions lost, too. The game against the Lions could be the height of the season -- the battle of winless teams. -

I didn't believe it, either. I couldn't imagine team being worse than it was when under Jauron. But, amazingly, things are worse. -

Can't wait for Gailey's post-game press conference. Will he spin it or just flat-out admit he has a very bad team and has done a very bad job of coaching? -

The Evans defenders will point out all sorts of problems with the team and they are correct, of course, in that regard, but I'd still be happy to see Evans traded or let go. He's a non-factor. -

Such enlightening commentary from Dierdorf. Must be nice to collect a paycheck for coming up with gems like that. -

y, you're right -- letting my dislike of the guy cloud view that he is actually a decent coach. Yes, I can say it now -- Rock Bottom.
