  1. Ever walked into a subway in South Korea or Japan? Compare that to NYC.
  2. You can but you would fail in your analysis. Again, South Korea is a country like Japan in which most people already wear masks, already clean after themselves and are already mobilized for this kind of event based on their history. That's why your comparison is a failure.
  3. It's next to impossible to predict the precise numbers, the goal is to project the trend and if the trend is increasing, you need to lockdown.
  4. You cannot compare the US to South Korea or any Asian country. They have experience with this kind of stuff directly and also have a society that is much more likely to follow orders in a time of crisis.
  5. The models may not be perfect but they all point to a potential catastrophe if this isn't controlled. Stop trying to spin this. It's hurting everyone but this has to be done.
  6. Anything being developed now can take months.
  7. You'd probably be better off testing people for antibodies.
  8. I think Trump will survive because the alternative will prove to be inept. Seems like the Canadians are still happy with Trudeau. The European leaders will be a mess though. In Italy, the government isn't helping the people much.
  9. Pretty much every country except for countries that were already affected by SARS reacted quickly enough in that context. Personally I don't think looking back changes anything now. History will be the judge in 6 months to a year.
  10. In Canada the provincial government is handling this crisis with guidance from the Federal government.
  11. Sorry but are we talking about people changing their habits or testing because clearly, I was talking about habit changing to stem the spread of the virus.
  12. Yes because we're not Japanese or Korean. We don't clean up after ourselves when going to a coffee shop, we don't wear masks and we are certainly not as fearful of germs. Comparing apples and oranges.
  13. People bringing up South Korea and Taiwan have obviously never visited Asia in their lifetimes. It's a completely different society.
  14. It was a bit over the top but you could recognize that and still be grateful that people are stepping up to the plate to help. Contrast that with Italy where people are basically stealing from grocery stores because the government isn't sending them the help they needed.
  15. Which is why I asked the question: With regards to seasonality, wouldn't warmer states such as Florida have a slower spread? I'm trying to reach across the aisle.
  16. I didn't say Florida is fine, I was asking what the statistics were in Florida based on Dr Fauci's assumption that this disease could potentially be seasonal.
  17. Stop being a troll for five minutes. You seem to occassionally not be an asshat. No, he's only been working with infectious diseases for the last 30+ years.
  18. And what does that have to do with what I said and the idiotic comment of Q-baby?
  19. Maybe inform yourself? Dr Fauci has been talking about seasonality being a likely scenario. https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2020/03/26/fauci_coronavirus_could_become_a_seasonal_thing.html
  20. With regards to seasonality, wouldn't warmer states such as Florida have a slower spread?
  21. Yes, good idea. We all have to sacrifice.
  22. Thank you for the informative posts.
  23. That’s what I said. Try not to be in either group. It’s not hard. There’s Still hope for you.
